An enemies-to-lovers rock star romance…
“You’re not being very nice right now.”“I think you like it when I’m not nice.”Nick Fletcher has the voice of a god and a tongue as sharp as a knife. His words can cut, and this time, his quick temper has earned him an intruder in his life and on his tour.Dalia Brenner looks like a grown-up Annie gone bad, but he wants nothing to do with her pin-up … like a grown-up Annie gone bad, but he wants nothing to do with her pin-up worthy curves and smart mouth. His method of dealing is to keep his head down, get through the tour, and then he’ll never have to see her again.
Dalia has no intention of having heart-to-hearts with Nick. They share a bus and sleep three feet apart every night, but that doesn’t mean she can’t ignore the scowly, grumpy lead singer.
Except she can’t seem to deny the annoying instinct to “fix” the pain and grief behind Nick’s sea glass eyes, even though she definitely knows better.
And Nick, well, he’s getting tired of denying Dalia…period.
Dalia has plans though, and none of them involve being a rock star’s girlfriend. Too bad Nick couldn’t disagree more.

Times Like These was a book I could not put down. Julia always has a way of drawing you into her stories from the very first page! She has quickly become one of my favorite authors, and this book definitely did not disappoint! If you love a love story that has women who are willing to stand up for themselves, characters who speak their minds, a storyline with lots of emotion and the perfect amount of humor…then this is a must read!
Great Rockstar Romance!
I’m a big fan of Rockstar romance and this one was great! I loved it!
What started as a misunderstanding blossomed into a love/hate relationship! I loved Dalia and Nick! I enjoyed the banter between them and their chemistry was off the charts! The secondary characters were awesome! They made for a very entertaining story! If you like rockstar romance this ones for you!
I can’t wait for book 2 in theBlue is the Color series!
This book was absolutely perfectly amazing! Seriously I want Dalia on my life as a bestie! This woman is fierce and so perfect. We start off with a tweet heard round the world and a retweet that definitely did not include a term of endearment. Nick and Dalia are definitely not seeing eye to eye at the beginning of this book, but bit by bit they see each others true colors and start to grow closer to one another. Their relationship is perfect and comes together so organically it was so nice to read. Julia Wolf did a phenomenal job as a writer leading her characters and her readers into this amazing bond that Nick and Dalia share. The band mates and her sister were fabulous too and I can’t wait to read their stories as well. This book was wonderful and I dont really want to give too much away as I feel it would impact the story as you read it yourself, but definitely read it you will not be dissapointed! I think these two have taken over as my new favorite couple from Ms. Wolf!!! Simply amazing!!!!!
I am not a huge fan of rock star books BUT this book changes my mind quickly as I delved into Dalia and Nicky’s life. What started as misunderstanding and a very nasty Twitter post and response leads us on a journey through the love hate relationship that these two endure. By the end of this book Dalia and Nicky had me wanting more and loving this genre. Well done Julia Wolf your amazing storytelling has definitely has made me a fan for life!
If I could give a book 6 outta 5 stars I would definitely do it for this book.
Seriously, this was a freaking great read! Girl insults rock star, girl somehow ends up on their tour to help out with everything, rock star loves how girl is super sassy, rock star falls for girl. So that in premise is how everything starts, but that is not the story dear readers. NOT AT ALL. It is so much more than this.
These characters are real AF. We get into the nitty gritty about rock stars and how they ARE real people with REAL emotions. I absolutely adored how human Julia Wolf creates her characters to be.
The interactions between the characters are everything and I HIGHLY recommend reading this book. It is not just about a rock star falling for a girl, it is the journey and the freaking roller coaster. It is also can rock star KEEP girl once he realizes he has feelings for her. That my dears makes all the difference. <3
PS: I received this book as an ARC in return for my honest opinion!
Wow! Just… wow… This book, I LOVED these two, so perfect, like TEXTBOOK enemies to lovers right here, other authors should be taking notes. Exceptional characters, could not get enough of Dalia and her antics, and Nick, broody rocker with an edge, I ate this book up! Devoured each and every word only putting it down when life had to rear its ugly head (and luckily today it kept itself to a minimum). Great meet, wonderful story line, conflict, angst, super steamy, great background characters, can’t wait for more, this author is killing it! Now to wait on the next band members story, but I think I’m most drawn to Ian’s, strong silent type (but I bet he’s a dirty talker, he just seems the type lol)
I’ve read everything this author has had to offer since the first Sublime series book, and I can honestly say that this book blew me away. Dalia and Nick are a little grittier, a little less sparkly, and yet SO much realer than any others characters she’s written so far that I would give this book 6 or 7 stars if I could.
These two start off with an angry bang. Dalia witnessed a low moment for the band during a show and posts about it, not realizing that all is not as it appeared to be. Nick lets his anger flag fly and rips her apart with a short, nasty, succinct reply via social media. He doesn’t think about his actions or or they may hurt someone else because he’s dealing with unresolved issues of his own, but his bandmate/best friend, Jasper, and their manager step in to make it right. And so begins the rocky road to truly happy for Dalia and Nick.
They’ve got a slow burn from enemies to friends to lovers with a lot of misunderstanding and resentment, mainly on Nick’s part, muddying the waters, but Dalia and Nick manage to make heads and tails of their relationship. Just as Dalia is ready to let the last blocks of her wall crumble, Nick cruelly and deliberately rips her to shreds because he acts before really thinking or listening to anyone. And so begins one of the best grovels I’ve read in a LONG time.
While Dalia makes Nick work for her forgiveness, she’s not unnecessarily mean or petty about it. Nick, for his part, proves that he really is more than a spoiled, famous manchild, and that he truly does deserve all that he and Dalia could be together. Their HEA is well-deserved and beautiful.
I can’t wait to read more in this series because Julia Wolf has proven that she’s got the literary genius to evolve and be so much more than a one-series kinda author.
On a scale of one to restraining order how inappropriate is it to propose to a stranger because you loved their book so much? I’m guessing it’s closer to the latter of that scale so I guess I’ll try to contain my inner obsessive fangirl. Try being the key word there. Julia Wolf kept me smiling ear to ear from start to finish with this book! Unable to put it down I spent an entire day carrying around my kindle attempting to read while doing things that truly required much more of my attention and regret nothing. Who cares if there are shirts hanging in my closet inside out? I don’t. I only cared about Nick and Dalia.
These two kept me cracking up and swooning left and right the entire time. Dalia is seriously hilarious. I’m pretty sure she’s my spirit animal. She’s an intriguing mix of being entirely free while still being grounded and down to earth. She’s also insanely hilarious and full of sass. Nick is also a mix of contradictions, being an @#$hole and a total sweetheart. Occasionally he manages to be both at the same time. These two have an amazing story filled with laughter, love and sweetness.
When Dalia is dragged to a concert and there is an incident on stage, she innocently tweets about it, and ends up losing her job. Nick is the grumpy lead singer in the band, and his thoughtless response to the tweet, is the cause of Dalia’s joblessness. When a twist of fate steps in; Dalia finds herself on the tour bus with the band much to Nick’s displeasure. Will these two move from enemies / friends / lovers? No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a beautifully written story, which is gritty, humorous, and with a tad angst and love. I was intrigued and hooked throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
Nick Fletcher is in the band Blue is the Color and knows he can’t keep up this current pace for much longer. When one of his best friends/band member passes out on stage he can’t help but go off on the person who tweeted that Jasper was high on stage.
Dalia Brenner had no idea the firestorm she was creating after tweeting a video of Jasper Antonio collapsing on stage after accompanying her sister, Melly, to the concert. Yet now she is jobless and wondering how she is going to afford her rent and tuition.
When Dalia is offered a job as a personal assistant to the band’s manager, Tali she agrees but vows to stay as far away from Nick as she can possibly get. Unfortunately the attraction between the two of them is mounting and will they be able to stay away from each other when they are stuck together on the bus for an entire summer?
When the tour is over will Dalia be able to return to her life and school and will Nick be able to let her go?
This was a great book and I am really excited for this new series!
I liked Nick and I knew why he tweeted what he did even though it was super inappropriate but he went into protection mode over Jasper. He probably shouldn’t have used the language that he did but it definitely got the book going in a certain direction that was filled with tension that you knew was going to erupt!
I was a little mad at Dalia for posting the tweet in the first place, especially once you knew what really happened. I did feel bad that she lost her job but it led her to get the perfect one with the band and you knew it was going to be an exciting ride!
The tension and hatred between Nick and Dalia at the beginning was so evident and you knew it also had to do with the sexual chemistry between the two that was so explosive! I loved reading the two of them battling and then with the big interview in Phoenix I loved how Dalia stepped in and what happened with Nick after.
When the two form a truce you could see the differences between the two of them and what they each wanted. It was interesting that Nick was more serious than Dalia and I wondered how that would impact things as the tour got closer to an end date. When Dalia was applying for positions for school I knew things were going to go sideways!
I was disappointed in Dalia for not telling Nick everything that was happening as it led to a heartbreaking showdown that caused so much hurt. I was also a little disappointed in Dalia for never watching the band but she would watch others.
I was glad that Dalia got a job that she wanted and I was also happy Nick recognized what he needed to do as he was so burnt out.
The very end was awesome and I loved that Dalia realized what she needed to do!
I am hoping for more books with the band in them!
Julia Wolfe has amazed me with her writing. It was my first book of hers wich started a journey in a new rock world. I like Dalia and Nick, they are mature and feel real, the story has a natural flow. Just enough drama to feel a little angst but not to exaggerated. All in all it’s a beautiful story of two people falling in love.
Often times while reading I find the corners of my mouth rising in response to something witty or funny in a story. It’s rare when I actually, physically laugh out loud which Julia made me do multiple times throughout this story! Never have I given a quick run down about a story to my husband but I did while reading this story so that I could read aloud to him some of Nick & Dalia’s banter with him and share a laugh! I very much enjoyed this story, I’m disappointed I’ve reached the end but I just couldn’t stop from reading it! Nick & Dalia were so much fun to get to know. Dalia is extremely unimpressed with Nicks bands concert and shared her opinion with the world via Twitter. This leads her to meeting the band, a temporary job offer from the bands manager and interesting weeks on tour with the band; mostly with Nick; the bands frontman. Funny banters about her lack of love for Nicks music and his stash that infuriates him when she helps herself to are weaved throughout this story which as we long for ends in a HEA. I am excited to read the next book about David but honestly hope & pray that Nick and Dalia will make frequent appearances!
What a great book! This was recommended to me by numerous people that said I just HAD to give it a listen. Well, I am so very glad I did! I loved Dalia and Nick’s story. Really all of the characters were interesting and the way this was written made me want to know more. Definitely looking forward to the next book.
Both Jennifer Blom and Connor Crais were absolutely amazing in this with how they performed their characters. So good and showing the characters emotions throughout the book. Also, Connor sings in this and it was so good!
Nick has the voice of a god and a tongue as sharp as a knife. His words can cut, and his quick temper has earned him an intruder in his life and on his tour. Dalia looks like a grown-up Annie gone bad, but Nick wants nothing to do with her pin-up worthy curves and smart mouth His method of dealing is to keep his head down, get through the tour, and then he will never have to see her again. Dalis does not intend to have heart-to-hearts with Nick. They share a bus and sleep three feet apart every night, and she has a hard time ignoring the scowling and grumpy rock- band lead singer. She cannot seem to deny the annoying instinct to fix the pain and grief behind Nick’s sea glass eyes. Nick is getting tired of denying Dalia. Her plans do not include being a rock star’s girlfriend, but Nick disagrees. – Nick and Dalia were very different and mean to each other. Nick had a bad childhood and abandonment issues. Dalia did not like rock music, and that created more tension. Dalia got along with the other band members, and they all liked her. There were rave reviews about this book, but I don’t get what they loved so about it. It is a good book but exceptional. Nick used the f— word too much
Romance Rehab: Book recs, author services, general badassery: http://www.romancerehab.com/
There was lots of good stuff here. Then…there was some not-so-great stuff.
Plot overview: Quirky girl Dalia gets into an internet kerfuffle with rockstar Nick. He calls her a name no woman should ever be called. To make it up to her, Nick’s manager offers her a job as an assistant to the band, requiring Dalia to travel on tour with them.
So, I’ll start with the good stuff first, ‘cause that’s what my mom raised me to do:
1. I like Nick. Despite what he called Dalia in the beginning, he apologized, and honestly, I kind of understand the head space he was in when he did it, and I don’t hate him for it. I also love that he isn’t your typical manwhore rockstar hero. He was pretty lowkey about his fame and sex appeal and I enjoyed that about him. And he was grumpy, which is always a plus.
2. The secondary characters were all pretty fabulous. I’d probably read their stories, but none of them came across as clean-cut sequel bait, which I appreciated.
3. It was well written. I was invested in the story and read through to the end. I know that doesn’t sound like a huge compliment, but given the sheer number of DNFs I’ve had lately, it actually is a nice compliment.
The bad stuff for me was mostly about Dalia. I found her generally grating and unlikeable. She was a total Mary Sue (good at so many things, everyone adores her on sight). She was also stubborn to the point of being annoying, and rudely refused to go to any of the band’s shows, even when Nick practically begged her to. And even though Nick should never have called her what he did, she was wrong when she immediately jumped on Twitter and disparaged his bandmate, claiming he was high when he passed out on stage. She had absolutely no proof of that, and should’ve kept her mouth shut. She didn’t deserve what she was called, but she definitely provoked the attack.
So, long-story-short, it’s not a bad read. I liked Nick, and I liked the supporting characters. I just wish I could’ve fixed Nick up with a heroine from a different book.
(And also, this didn’t impact my enjoyment of the book at all, but I think Blue is the Color is a stupid rock band name. I know no one asked for my opinion, but, yeah…there it is.)
Nick was a Rock star and Dalia was a college senior just trying to find her way. She goes with her sister to watch the band perform and ends up getting in a Twitter war with the lead singer, Nick. She ends up working for the band and the two of them have to try and get along. They start finding they don’t really dislike each other and start to be attracted to each other. Crazy stuff happens and they have to decide if they can work it out or go their separate ways. This is a lovely little romance with a lot of heart.
I love this book. It’s hard to resist a bad boy, especially after he calls you out on Twitter. This was such a fun read and great start to a sexy and sweet series. Nick and Dalia figuring out what they have between them was binge worthy. The author Julia also introduces us to other members of the band and easily has you invested in the next books. Her female characters are strong and funny and aren’t cookie cutter standards. As for the lead male Nick, he appears to have a hardened shell, but much like an M&M, he’s soft and sweet on the inside 😉
I happened to stumble across this book on Amazon and I am glad that I did because it is a phenomenal rockstar romance. Times Like These starts out with a big outrage on Twitter and illustrates just how quickly things can spread on social media.
Dalia is a fun heroine that I would love to know IRL. She is full of fire, entertaining, a bit quirky, but also insightful. I did find some of her antics a bit immature at times, but I also think it was fitting with her age. She is relatively young compared to Nick, but she is so good for him. Nick is the sexy lead singer of Blue is the Color and I found that he had hidden depths to him. He isn’t just a sexy rockstar, but he is a man who is fiercely loyal to his bandmates and is starting to feel a bit wary of always being on the go. He definitely got off on the wrong foot with Dalia and while they were not exactly enemies, they weren’t each other’s favorite people either which is what made this book so entertaining – seeing how their relationship evolved. The two have great chemistry and there were some steamy scenes that nearly caused my kindle to catch fire.
This book moved at a great pace, had a good storyline, and I loved the characters. Not just Dalia and Nick, but also all the other band members, Dalia’s sister, and Malka. The author did a great job showing that family can be blood, but it can also be a close group of friends. I enjoyed Times Like These so much that I immediately downloaded David’s book and I am counting down the days until Jasper’s story releases.
Color me Blue
I found this book by accident when a friend had it on her want to read list. When I saw that gorgeous cover and read the blurb, I knew I had to read it asap! Hot, broody rockstar? Why yes, I think I will!
Dalia Brenner and her sister are best friends as well as being the closest of siblings. They look alike, think alike but one thing they don’t necessarily agree on is their taste in music. Mellie’s dragging Dalia to see her most favorite band, she’s even made tee shirts for the concert. Blue is the Color, the band in question, has not impressed Dalia but she’ll go anyway for her bff sister.
Let’s just say the concert turns out to be a disappointing mess, a bad social media post is involved and goes viral in the worst way possible and Daria might have had a little to do with that. An online battle with the lead singer of Blue has made her life miserable now.
All of that somehow leads to a job offer that Dalia reluctantly takes… any girl would kill for it, so why so reluctant…maybe because the most aggravating, rude and opinionated man ever is going to be there as she takes her place for the summer as the new PA for a touring band she doesn’t even like, when she’s fired from her own job because of ‘you know who’!
This is the start to a wild ride on a cross country tour for the band and Dalia. She’s hit it off with a few of the guys with the exception of HIM..Nick, man in question. They bicker and fight all the time but you know what they say about love and hate? Fine line between.
I’m so glad I decided to hop on this crazy train with Dalia, Nick and the members of Blue. Swerve, is a summer festival tour with tons of other bands so there were lots of fun, secondary characters to get to know. The book had a cool vibe, lots of great moments and I thoroughly enjoyed the easy style of this new author in my world. Dalia and Nick had some serious chemistry even if the fireworks were too hot to handle! Question is- will they survive this tour with their hearts intact?
I definitely need to see if there are more gems where this came from, because I’m sure gonna be on board if there are. This was a good story and captivated me on a day when nothing else seemed to do so.
So this two of my favorite troupes joined into one. Rock stars and enemies to lovers.. I loved both Dalia and Nick so freakin much. The way they meet is unique to say the least. Dalia isn’t a fan of their music but her sister is. She is a light that this band is so desperately needing at the moment. She hits it off instantly with all the band members but Nick. They take to her so well and let her enter their lives.. He isn’t sure why. He isn’t the nicest to her but he soon realizes that there’s more to her then he thought. They spend time together and he sees her a different way. I love when this happens. She also inspires him to write again and help this band heal. See why I said she’s the light that they all need. I really loved this book and need more of this series!
