From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of A Discovery of Witches—look for the hit TV series “A Discovery of Witches,” streaming on AMC Plus, Sundance Now and Shudder. Season 2 premieres January 9, 2021! What does it truly take to become a vampire? On the battlefields of the American Revolution, Matthew de Clermont meets Marcus MacNeil, a young surgeon from Massachusetts, during a moment … MacNeil, a young surgeon from Massachusetts, during a moment of political awakening when it seems that the world is on the brink of a brighter future. When Matthew offers him a chance at immortality and a new life free from the restraints of his puritanical upbringing, Marcus seizes the opportunity to become a vampire. But his transformation is not an easy one and the ancient traditions and responsibilities of the de Clermont family clash with Marcus’s deeply held beliefs in liberty, equality, and brotherhood.
Fast-forward to contemporary Paris, where Phoebe Taylor–the young employee at Sotheby’s whom Marcus has fallen for–is about to embark on her own journey to immortality. Though the modernized version of the process at first seems uncomplicated, the couple discovers that the challenges facing a human who wishes to be a vampire are no less formidable than they were in the eighteenth century. The shadows that Marcus believed he’d escaped centuries ago may return to haunt them both–forever.
A passionate love story and a fascinating exploration of the power of tradition and the possibilities not just for change but for revolution, Time’s Convert, the fourth books in the All Souls Series channels the supernatural world-building and slow-burning romance that made the previous books instant bestsellers to illuminate a new and vital moment in history, and a love affair that will bridge centuries.

I have read the All Souls Trilogy and it is a must in order to fully enjoy this book. But if you are missing Matthew and Diana, then get this book! They are in the story, but it does focus on Marcus. The only fault I found was that there wasn’t enough Gallowglass! Then again, I have a total crush on him.
I enjoyed learning about Marcus’ story mixed with Phoebe’s conversion to vampire. I also was greatly amused with how the De Clairmont family was dealing with the twins developing powers! Deborah Harkness never fails to deliver!
This book is worth the wait!!! The world building. The interwoven, time hopping story lines. Beloved old characters. Intriguing new ones – especially a vampire with a closet to die (and be reborn) for. I can’t wait for everyone to read this All Souls story.
Everything I’ve been yearning for and so many lovely surprises .

Time’s Convert is a fantastic book! It’s a follow up to The All Souls Trilogy. These characters are so well written that you can hear them. It’s like you’re in the book!
A great addition to the continuing series starting with a Discovery of Witches!
After the ADOW trilogy, we are left thirsty for more stories of that magnificent world. In this book, Marcus fiancé, Phoebe, decides to go through with the challenge of becoming a vampire herself, giving the reader a detailed account of what the process involves while stirring a lot of memories in Marcus who shares his own story with the rest if the family.
The only problem with this book is you will have to wait fir the next one, since Deborah is still writing it! 😉
IME’S CONVERT is wonderful and fascinating.Deborah Harkness never disappoints, especially when you’ve been waiting for something exciting and magical. If you haven’t read the All Souls trilogy yet, please do. If you have read them, this picks up where they left off. I’m so happy to see Matthew and Diana again!
Another in depth book.
I loved all the previous books in this series but didn’t care for the storyline in this one. I could barely finish it. I hated that as I bought the previous 3 and have even reread them several times.
This book tells the story of Marcus de Clermont (MacNei), Matthew de Clermont’s son from the A Discovery of Witches trilogy. Marcus was a much loved character in the trilogy and I am so glad that the author decided to tell his story.
The story takes place around the transformation of Marcus’ love, Phoebe. They plan on being married and Phoebe must be turned into a vampire to make the union and become a de Clermont. It’s a delightful story of love and devotion.
Matthew and Diana also have an interesting storyline in the book. Their children are half vampire and half witch and start to show signs of their heritage. Matthew and Diana must decide whether or not to spell bind the children or let them learn things the hard way.

The characters came to life
I’ve never wanted the female main character to bite the bullet more than I wanted it in this book. Marcus is wonderful. He deserved better.
Great follow up on the Discovery of Witches series although it follows different main characters, all the characters you love are in the book.
Mostly about Marcus. Not as engaging as the first two but interesting. More historical.
I like the whole series. My favorite part of this one are the historical memories of Marcus. I m not too crazy about Phoebe but the other characters are great
This book lacked some of the depth and detail of the earlier books in the series, but still was very enjoyable.
I am a big fan of this series and a big fan of historical fiction. Throw in a little magic and I’m hooked. This book was great, not quite as good as the trilogy, but entertaining and of course the historical aspect was on point. I could have done with less of Phoebe’s hyper- specific transformation. Otherwise another wonderfully written book by a super talented author.
I enjoyed her trilogy better.
This was not as good as the first books. Discovery of Witches was great.
