Absolutely riveting!
Fun read!
Excellent Read as nearly all of Michael Crichton’s usually are in the science fiction genre!
I don’t read fiction often, but Michael Chrichton’s books draw me in due to the richness of the science and history he brings into his story lines. This one was a delightful page turner for me, given the historic setting in my favorite architectural period. The characters are well developed and credible, and though I did not grasp all the …
I was taught that the Middle Ages were romantic eras. Knights in shining armour, Ladies dressed in finery waiting for their knights to come home from battle. This book tells you the truth. The dirt, smells, actions and the stuff our teachers were not allowed to discuss in class.
Like most of Chrichton’s books it reads like a screenplay for a movie, but that being said it’s an enjoyable page turner. Not terrible original or as compelling as some of his other books, but certainly worth a few bucks for a quick read.
The premise of this book is, by now, a bit familiar. But when it came out (which is when I originally read it) the idea was… not exactly original, but not mainstream. Sci-fi and fantasy books had done similar ‘people from the present go into the past’ stories, but none by as popular an author as Michael Crichton. P.S.: Some books are better than …
Excellent book. I had to then see the movie!

A bit cheesy with too much unbelievable action. Book was entertaining enough to finish, but I was ready for it to end. Not Crichton’s best work.
I enjoyed this book . I learned a lot about quantum physics and never thought I’d ever be able to understand any of that. I also loved the history. Great combination. .
Very good, fast paced, great characters and always a twist around every corner.
I love archeological and historical action stories! Crichton did an awesome job with this book! To me books are the best when the storyline is entertaining and I learn something. That’s Crichton’s forte and he hit a home run here!
Great read, love the concept. Have read it more than once!
A wonderful read. Fast paced. Couldn”t put it down.
Predictable
Really enjoyed this book…
Enjoy going back in time books. Modern day time machine/Medieval book that holds your attention by this wonderful author. Different from the dinosaur books. For those who enjoy a bit of historical battle, taking of the castle genre. THEN see the movie with Gerard Butler ….yum !
Crichton’s best work, and that’s saying something! Sphere, Jurassic Park, Next, Prey and even Pirate Latitudes fall to second place compared to “Timeline”. For action, suspense and can’t-put-down writing, this book has it all! 7 stars aren’t enough!
Loved it more than the movie
