I actually read this book while I was incarcerated in 2009. It wasn’t the type of book I’d normally pick up but pickings were slim. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s kind of a mix of Sci fi with fantasy and history. I enjoyed not knowing where the story was going to take me. I like to be surprised. I was sad when I finished it, I didn’t want it …
Timeline is a science fiction novel, in which a group of archeologists are able to utilize modern technology and quantum mechanics to travel to the past. In this gripping novel, the scientists are able to visit their archeological site as it was in the period they are trying to reconstruct. However, as is likely when messing with time, things go …
I loved it, especially the weird idea that someone might get spliced if they went through time too many times. Crighten always comes up with such inventive stories!
Michael Chrichton is one of my favorite authors and Timeline is the top of the list. I love the premise that an experiment gone wrong brings the team to a dangerous place. The exciting storyline gets my mind cracking for the possibilities for time travel.
I enjoyed this book a lot. The beginning is a little slow but they have to do that because prepare you for the rest of the story. Once they go back in time, it’s a real page turner. It was well written and the end had me in tears. I highly recommend this book.
Nice spin on time travel
Book is very entertaining to read. Great characters, original plot. Kind of a sad ending, but overal a very good book.
This was the second book of Mr. Crichton’s I read, right after I read Jurassic Park – I devoured it in an afternoon – the story is compelling, and has elements of romance, humor and archaeology that satisfied my soul, with enough harrowing escapes,, danger, and twists galore. Step into this time machine, back into France amidst the Hundred Years …
Timeline is, quite frankly, just a lot of fun. I spent a lot of time watching the History Channel as a kid. This was back when the History Channel still talked about history. I first got my hands on Michael Crichton’s novel around the same time and immediately liked it.
The premise for Timeline indulges in every history fan’s best dream. Or …
Anything by this author holds my attention
Timeline delivers it all. Fascinating premise, time travel, action packed and amazing story. You will not be sorry you read this book.
GREAT BOOK.
The theory of multi-verses kind of threw me at first, but was a most enjoyable story.
One of his best books – and I love all of his books! Time travel is something I’ve always been fascinated. I hate that such a talented man was taken from us too soon!
I read this book years ago and just loved it. Planning on reading it again!
Amazing book great right from the start!
Crichton was a genius at what he did, and this book is no exception. I studied the Middle Ages extensively, and can say that much of it is highly accurate. Loved it!
Typical Crichton…. Spins a fictional tale using technology that is emerging and could very well be one day used..
Love the Author
I love Crichton. His stories were always original and well written.
