Agent Christopher Dawson has avoided Livy since she broke his heart. When the search for his best friend brings them together, the heart takes on a mind of its own. Bookishly Ever After 2018 Sarah Monzon
It all started with a bet and a book.
Emory Blake is the ultimate bibliophile. She’d take curling up with a novel over a night on the town any day. But then her best friend, Tate Woodby, accuses her of living between the pages of her paperbacks instead of the real world, and he makes a bet that will force her to experience the adventures of her fictional friends…instead of just reading about them. With her face no longer buried in books, Emory must confront the pain of the past. But is it also her perfect opportunity to discover the hunky hero who could be the happily-ever-after of her own story?

Give Me Thine Heart by Andrea Boeshaar – 3 stars
This was a quick paced adventure that didn’t seem entirely realistic, but was entertaining.
The Heart of Home by Stephenia H. McGee – 4 stars
I always find stories set in the South during Reconstruction after the Civil War to be fascinating. While it’s easy to vilify the people on that side of the conflict, they are people with families and heartache as well. I loved that Tristan was able to find healing with Opal and her mother and they could lean on him for support as well. A sweet romance.
This Freedom Journey by Misty M. Beller – 5 stars
I always love the rugged wilderness settings in this author’s stories. Being snowed in together while also dealing with loss and loneliness accelerates the developing relationship between Adrien and Mary. I loved Adrien’s gentle nature and Mary’s appreciation of his kindnesses. She is hardly a damsel in distress, proving herself strong and willing to do the hard work it takes to survive. They come to rely on each other and with the various trials they encounter during the harsh winter, their mutual support builds a solid foundation.
Enchanting Nicholette by Dawn Crandall – 5 stars
Fans of The Everstone Chronicles series will absolutely love this addition to the series! Cal Hawthorne and Nicholette Everstone are pleasant and charming together, but Cal has secrets and Nicholette struggles with any sort of danger that puts loved ones at risk. I enjoyed their friendship and loved the chemistry as they are instantly attracted to each other. There is a good pace to the story and it felt longer than a novella with its full plot and character arc.
Teach Me To Love by Kari Trumbo – 5 stars
I really enjoyed this story. Isabella is easy to feel sympathy for, and Conrad’s compassionate and protective nature brings him closer to the young widow, even with his initial resistance. The help she is able to provide him with learning to read helps her confidence bloom again and it was lovely to see her repressed personality begin to shine through. Some conflict on the ranch brought an element of danger and suspense, and with the yearning romance, it’s a well-rounded novella.
Façade by Pepper Basham – 5 stars
What a rollercoaster ride this story took me on in the middle of WWII France with two spies who have a second chance romance, once they untangled the miscommunications that ended their friendship. My eyes were opened to the sacrifices of the citizens during the turbulent and uncertain times of war, and made me even more thankful for those that risk and give their lives for the cause of freedom.
Bookishly Ever After by Sarah Monzon – 5 stars
Seriously so cute! A contemporary romance of unrequited love told from the perspective of the clueless one, Emory. She has some hang-ups from her past that makes her avoid conflict and deeper feelings that have the potential for future hurt and vulnerability. Tate is so patient with her, and I loved the little observations clue the reader in that he’s carrying a serious torch. The setting of Seattle was awesome, I love that city! Combine that with a soulful musician and reclusive bibliophile stretching outside their comfort zones and this story was a perfect blend of angst, humor, and sweet romance.
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)
Travel through time beginning in 1812 to 2018, all from the comfort of your favorite reading chair! Come along for an adventure that you won’t soon forget! Each story is unique, yet they all share the common thread of love and strong heroines who boldly face the dangers of the unknown.
I loved every story in this collection! Two of the authors were brand new to me, and I have already been searching for more books to read from them! It isn’t often that you come across a collection like this where every story sparks your imagination and keeps you turning pages wanting more.
Something for everyone can be found in the pages of these stories! Love, Laughter, History, Romance, Mystery, Adventure, and most of all each story shines a light on God and the importance of His love.
I give this delightful collection of stories an enthusiastic 5-stars and would encourage you to snap up your copy today!
(I received an early reader copy of this collection for review. I am not required to write a positive review. My thoughts and options are my own. I have pre-ordered a copy of this collection for myself from Amazon.)
Facade was full of espionage, romance, and suspense. What a page-turner! I was immediately swept up in Pepper Basham’s historical novella set against WWII. Everything Pepper’s written I’ve adored, and this is no different. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
I’ve only had the option of reading Kari Trumbo’s selection, Teach me to Love, as an ARC.
I’ll update this review when I’ve finished all of the books in this anthology!
Kari continues her tales with this connection book to Sparks in Spearfish (Seven Brides of South Dakota Book 5). This is Izzy’s story, (Paula’s roommate from the Spearfish School). It’s a beautifully sweet story of self worth and true love! A great Christian focus on healing with His power!
Seven authors have banded together in this collection of novellas that span across time. These stories from authors like Pepper Basham, Dawn Crandall, Sarah Monzon, and more are less than a dollar. AND all proceeds of this collection go to the Live Strong Foundation. Not only do you get a great deal and hours worth of fabulous reads, your purchase helps cancer research.
Now, if I talk about every single one of these stories like I’d like to, you’re going to be here a while. To save us both time, I’m going to try and sum each up in two or three sentences or less (but if one or two interest you, you can look up the individual titles on Goodreads for more in-depth reviews).
Give Me Thine Heart – Running from an unwanted engagement and learning of duplicity of her family, Moira’s only choice is to journey to America with Sam Stryker. Spy lessons, a journey across the sea, and close quarters draw these two together. The ending of this book is perfect with a surprise I didn’t see coming!
The Freedom Journey – With a harsh blizzard upon them, Mary and Adrien must band together to survive. Adrien’s gentle and calming nature is a balm to Mary’s hurting soul after too much loss. It will take courage, strength, prayer, and teamwork to survive the rough winter in the Canadian wilderness.
The Heart of Home – An injured man, a duplicitous suitor, and the looming loss of a home all take center stage in Stephenia H. McGee’s post-Civil War offering. Those who have read In His Eyes will enjoy some familiar faces
Enchanting Nicholette – Swoony hero with an intriguing secret (or secrets?). A widow who is finding her way back into society. All with the author’s first-person POV that makes you fall in love with the hero right along with Nicholette.
Teach Me to Love – Through the eyes of God and Conrad Oleson, Izzy Lawson finds healing. With a little action and mystery thrown in that keep the story moving at a good pace.
Façade – Pepper Basham weaves a tale of friendship, espionage, and love in her first WWII story. An intelligent heroine who knows her mind more than her heart. Action, intrigue, and Basham’s brand of romance all play a part in this one.
Bookishly Ever After – Wonderful Rom Com with a couple fun adventures thrown in for the heroine. Friends to more (my favorite)! Plus…Books!
Every one of these stories is original (and not published previously) and unique, yet the collection works well together. You can even do what I did and skip around!
Don’t forget, this collection is only available for a couple weeks before it’s gone and each author puts their novella up for sale separately.

A lovely collection of romantic stories! From the early 1800’s to the present I enjoyed how each story was so romantic in it’s own way. Each just the right length to finish in one setting. Enjoyed each one!
Facade Review: A handsome spy. A brillantly, gifted educator. Missing Allied pilots. Christopher Dawson is on a mission to gather information and rescue soldiers who have fallen into enemy hands. Olivia Rakes wants nothing to do with the war, especially those who want to exploit her gifts of audio and visual observation and recollection. But when her beloved brother, Charlie, goes missing behind enemy lines she seizes the opportunity to rescue him. As she and Christopher dodge bullets and play cat-and-mouse with a shrewd enemy, Livy discovers her heart belongs to a man she can’t live without. Is choosing the greater good worth the sacrifice of her heart? With the enemy closing in will she even have a choice? Swoon-worthy, romantic, adventure by inspirational, story-artist, Pepper Basham!
Bookishly Ever After Review: What happens when you read books to the point of using them as a way to escape life instead of living it to the fullest. That is what happens with Emory, who finds herself challenged by her friend Tate to actually experience living based on the books she reads. As you experience the “book outings” with Emory, the reader discovers there is more to Emory’s personal story and it is very painful. And as the reader, it is easy to see that Tate is more than a friend to Emory, but can she escape her book world long enough to see him. I stayed up long past my bed time for this one. I knew it would have a happily ever after, but I had to know the whole of Emory’s story and how she would overcome her fears. Good story by new-to-me author, Sarah Monzon.
I read Facade and Bookishly Ever After in the Timeless Love multi-author compilation.
This is a review for Kari Trumbo`s story.
When Isabella`s husband died she was relieved to be free. She leave to go to her best friend. When she arrives at The Broken Circle O she is so tired that she falls in the arms of Conrad. He is smitten but she needs to heal from the abuse of her marriage, and she needs to learn to trust again.
Will she ever be ready to be happy again and will Conrad find the way to her heart?
I enjoy every story by Kari Trumbo and this isn`t an exception. The characters are well written and you have to fall in love with them. Looking forward to read the rest of the series.
As always, Basham exceeded my expectations with an exciting and romantic story set during WWII in German-occupied France. Livy and Christopher have a history together which creates delicious tension and dazzling moments between them.
Fans of this genre will undoubtedly enjoy Façade. It is a fast-paced, hard-to-put-down novella. I received a complimentary electronic copy from the author but was not required to write a review. I bought the book , as well.
Timeless Love Anthology
What a great idea! An anthology that encompasses three centuries and just over 200 years. It is written by multiple authors, some of whom are new to me.
The anthology will only be available for a short time. After that, they will be available individually by each author. Considering the fact that this book is only $.99, it just makes sense to buy a copy of the anthology.
I have the overall details of the anthology here. I have the review for each book separately on my blog, with individual star ratings. The rating for the anthology is the same as the highest individual rating. As a note, until the authors release their books outside this collection, the links for those books will not work.
