“I was in an accident. I got out. I’m safe now.” An alternate Victorian world controlled by clock towers, where a damaged clock can fracture time—and a destroyed one can stop it completely. A prodigy mechanic who can repair not only clockwork, but time itself, determined to rescue his father from a Stopped town. A series of mysterious bombings that could jeopardize all of England.> A boy who … jeopardize all of England.
> A boy who would give anything to relive his past, and one who would give anything to live at all.
A romance that will shake the very foundations of time.
The first book in a dazzling new steampunk-fantasy trilogy, Timekeeper introduces a magical world of mythology and innovation that readers will never want to leave.

Timekeeper is an extraordinary debut, at once familiar and utterly original. Between its compelling world, its lovely prose, and its wonderful characters, the pages flew by.
I hated it and didn’t finish it.
Alive with myth, mystery, and glorious romance, Timekeeper will keep hearts pounding and pages turning til the stunning conclusion. Reader beware — there’s magic in these pages.
This is my absolute favourite book. I got it around april(?) in 2019 and it’s been sitting on my shelf unread – that is until January of this year. I started reading it and I realised how much I was missing out. I read the first book and found out there were two more and with no thought I bought them both online. I figured the first one was so good that buying the next two would be well worth it. It’s basically a book with all of my favourite things in it: lgbtq, steampunk, fantasy, sci-fi, England, London, Romance, AU, mysteries, and now, apparently, Danny Hart and a certain Clock sprit.
I also found it pretty interesting to see that since this book takes place in the late 1700’s (I believe 1700’s) that the fact the main character, Danny, is into the same sex over the opposite and it’s not the main conflict at all. Don’t get me wrong, I love story’s that take place then and that are lgbtq – I find those really interesting, but this was different. I love how this story it set in an, alternate universe of course, but it’s a completely different take on those kinds of stories.
Honestly I regret not reading it sooner; I had no idea what a great book I had sitting there right on my shelf.
I definitely recommend reading it – and the second and third.
Okay, I am going to be completely honest I really am surprised by how much I really enjoyed this book. I was sold on the concept of book 2 (Chainbreaker) when everyone was talking about. I was on the fence when this book came out on whether or not I should read it and I can not express to you how surprised I am that I loved it so much. I had this book on the 10 books that I wanted to read this year list partly because I need to read this one to get to the next one in the series. But after starting this book I really did not want to put it down.
This book is set in a steampunk world and clocks control the world. lol. They are not taking over but everything runs on time and if a clock stops well them that town does too because time is not moving on. I really do enjoy steampunk books and I loved how this concept was done. I also enjoyed the romance that was in this book. It was very sweet and not over the top. I am really excited to move on in this series.
I usually reserve my 5-star ratings for literary fiction, but This book surprised and amazed me. Tara Sim put together a fast-paced plot and magical writing, blended with admirable characters and dramatic events. We’ve had plenty of time travel stories, but I don’t recall another story with this perspective on time. By the time you finish, you’ll want a clock spirit of your own. Come to think of it, you’ll probably want your own clock tower and mechanic. Truly a delightful read.
Disappointed. I bought without seeing reviews that this was LBGQ. The story line and world-building were average. I wonder if those who gave it glowing reviews read the same book i did or just liked the romance.
