Time Machines Repaired While-U-Wait
(A Spider Webb Novel)
You’ll be shocked and surprised to learn what lies at the end of time!
Relish the conundrums of time travel in this story of a man attempting to both solve a mystery and come to terms with his life.
“K. A. Bedford delivers by focusing less on the “wow” factor (and more) on the social-implications factor.” — The Harrow“This is a … life.

“This is a gotta-read, with some thoughtful concepts to ponder.” — Pam Allen, ConNotations
“Bedford is funny in a crazed, Rudy Rucker kind of way. While Rucker writes of gonzo theorists, Bedford writes of the gonzo mechanics who keep the machines running.” — Fred Cleaver, Denver Post
Winner of the Australian Aurealis Award
If you enjoy Douglas Adams’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy but crave something more sci-fi, with fewer goofy antics, you’ll appreciate Time Machines Repaired While-U-Wait.
In the future, Aloysius “Spider” Webb will journey to the End of Time.
For now, he must be content with repairing broken time machines, rebuilding his life and avoiding the lunatic antics of his boss, Dickhead McMahon.
Spider’s life is status quo until he discovers inside a broken second-hand time machine, the corpse of a brutally murdered woman from the future. The Department of Time and Space steps in to manage the situation — leaving Spider asking a lot of questions that only lead to more questions; unsettling evidence, brewing trouble, and the knowledge that Spider himself might be involved in an epic battle for control of time itself.
Will his knowing the future be a curse or a blessing? and will Spider Webb really find out how things turn out before they happen? With his new found knowledge, who can Spider trust?
One thing is certain: it will all happen before the End of Time!

Praise:
“The local Western Australia ambiance provides a unique perspective that is quite consistent with the gonzo aspects of the story. Bedford has created a science-fiction novel that is sure to please most SF fans.” — D. Douglas Fratz, Sci-Fi
“The premise is not only is time travel common place, it’s treated like any other vacation spot. The equipment is cheap enough that one can often find good deals on time machines on Ebay. But the book doesn’t rest on one plot device but manages to pull off suspense mystery and intrigue. I am liking it despite myself!” — Paul, Reader

What if time machines were as common as automobiles are today? What if nefarious forces wanted to jump forward to the end of time to control everything.
What if you could get warnings from visits by your future self? What if you just wanted something different, interesting and entertaining to read? Well why not read this book?
‘d go a 5 but some parts were just so … gory. Extremely creative. twists and turns everywhere. strange and weird! I liked it.
This was the first modern Time Travel book, to really excite me in the current world of the Genre. It was most definitely a page turner but to say anything more would give away the plot.
Different twist on time travel. I enjoyed very much
Found it hard to follow. Lots of similar characters. I will have to read the next in the series to see what plays out.
This is definitely a different kind of SF novel. An original way to look at Time Travel. Lots of fun, and I usually don’t like time loops, or the usual use of time travel to fix a story problem. Not this story, it’s all about the trouble with time travel, and looping time. Kind of crazy, but it makes sense along the way kind of story.
I’m not sure I understood about half of the book. There seemed to be a lot of hole in the storyline that I felt should be fleshed out more.
The main character was not to my liking
I liked it but it got a bit too complex near the end.
It had a good twist on time travel.
This is a book you need to pay attention while reading. No speed readers here. I have never read another quite like this one. Some errors , but nothing too distracting once you accept the multiple time line premise (not made obvious at first). Not a big lover of time travel (except The Time Machine) but I did like this one. Might even read another by this author. Thanks K.A. Bedford!
Loved the use of location.
Started out wonderfully. But now I’m stuck halfway through trying to decide should I finish it.
The book got off to a slow start, but once in it, it grabbed you. A clever concoction of time travel, alternate realities, and the dangers of fooling with nexus points of history. (Old Joke: Decartes said, I think, therefore I am. When he was asked if he wanted another glass of wine, he said, ‘I don’t think so,’ and vanished.)
An entertaining tounge-in-cheek exploration of time travel with a unique perspective on the “end-of-time”.
Not sure if it was the first story of a series or a stand-alone. Either way it was confusing.
Huge mix of wonderful and disappointing.
This book takes place in Western Australia in the future. A part of the uniqueness of the story was the British/Australian flavor to the story. The story goes far afield from the simple subject suggested by the title. The whole subject is treated with a “tongue in cheek” attitude and sets up more adventures to come.
A different twist on the time travel genre. Aussie dialect. Enjoy!
A fun read.
