Dr. David Lawrence has spent the last two years atoning for his sins and recovering from the devastating breakup with Gansett Island golden girl Janey McCarthy. As the island’s only doctor, he’s had ample opportunity to show his fellow island residents that there’s more to him than the guy who disappointed Janey so profoundly. Now if only he could find a way to forgive himself, he might be able … able to move on with his life without the woman he’d expected to love forever…
Daisy Babson, probationary director of housekeeping at McCarthy’s Gansett Island Inn, is in bad need of a fresh start after her relationship with Truck Henry took a violent turn, leaving her battered and broken—in more ways than one. As she recovers from her injuries, her days are made brighter by her visits with David Lawrence. The kind and caring doctor who tended to her after the attack has become much more than a friend to her in recent weeks.
Will these two wounded hearts take comfort from one another and move forward on a new path toward love together? Or will ghosts from the past derail them before they get the chance for their own happily ever after?

Everything Maria Force writes is amazing, You can not go wrong!
overall, exceptional series. It truly reminds me of the great soap operas we used to have, like AMC or GH of the 80’s.
As with ALL of the Marie Force Gansett Island series books this, too, was a read in one sitting!!
More b bedroom scenes than called for. Affected storyline. Not as well written as previous books.
There were a lot of characters in this book which did not make the book less enjoyable, just one where I wish I had started making a few notes as to relationships between characters and professions attached to those characters. It also seemed less than optimal that the leads in our love interest plotline fell for each other so quickly.I don’t mean just that they had chemistry, I mean in a committed relationship very early on.Wiped out the tension.Still, there were many fun characters and I enjoyed their dialogue and their choices.
The story really dragged on, especially with all the addition of the side stories and past characters. Seriously only half the book was about the “main” characters. Maybe if you read from book one, it would be more enjoyable, but by book nine, its a bad time to put a free edition out (which is meant to entice readers to read the whole series…it definitely did not for me).
slow at times and then rushed at the end to wrap everything up, lots of back stories with multiple characters so if you haven’t read all the previous books, which I haven’t, you are lost on what their deal is. All those other charachters muddled the story for the two main characters, I wanted to slap Daisy most of the time, she was kind of wishy washy. Which is unfortunate because she could have been a deeper character. I’ve read other books by Marie Force and they were good included a few others in this series, guess you have to read them all in order.
One of my favorite authors . Never disappoints.
Love all of Melody Grace’s series
Love this book
Too many characters. Would’ve preferred less couples which would have allowed a more in-depth story about one or two couples relationships.
My first introduction was the love story of Madden and Mac. I know when I return with each book that I get to see what has happened to old friends. This book provides two souls with the loving care they need to heal..
Well written, no major grammatical errors. Only criticism is that it can be read without others in the series, but it would help. Also loses a bit of the focus of the main characters. Over all good read.
Any book by Marie Force is a winner
The stories about Gannett Island are really enjoyable.
who doesn’t love Marie Force
Great
I have read several books in this series and have enjoyed them all. Some of the later ones are not quite as good as the first book (love Mac & Maddie) but this story was still a good read and I enjoyed it.
As usual I love this Gansett Island volume. They are all characters that I’ve been waiting to read about and I wasn’t disappointed.
Have read 16 books in this series. Usually I get bored a few books into a series but this author has introduced amazing characters who have peaked my interest. Will definitely read more from this talented storyteller.
