A magical love story, inspired by the legend of a woman who vanished from Grand Central Terminal, sweeps readers from the 1920s to World War II and beyond. “Readers who enjoyed Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife will be enchanted.”—Publishers Weekly“I utterly loved this clever, charming, hopeful tale of true love against all odds.”—Ariel Lawhon, New York Times bestselling author of I … odds.”—Ariel Lawhon, New York Times bestselling author of I Was Anastasia
On a clear December morning in 1937, at the famous gold clock in Grand Central Terminal, Joe Reynolds, a hardworking railroad man from Queens, meets a vibrant young woman who seems mysteriously out of place. Nora Lansing is a Manhattan socialite and an aspiring artist whose flapper clothing, pearl earrings, and talk of the Roaring Twenties don’t seem to match the bleak mood of Depression-era New York. Captivated by Nora from her first electric touch, Joe despairs when he tries to walk her home and she disappears. Finding her again—and again—will become the focus of his love and his life.
As thousands of visitors pass under the famous celestial blue ceiling each day, Joe and Nora create a life of infinite love in a finite space, taking full advantage of the “Terminal City” within a city. But when the construction of another landmark threatens their future, Nora and Joe are forced to test the limits of their freedom—and their love.
Praise for Time After Time
“I’ll never again set foot in Grand Central Terminal without looking over my shoulder for Nora and Joe, or marveling at the station itself—a backdrop as intriguing as the love story that unfolds beneath its star-studded ceiling.”—Georgia Hunter, New York Times bestselling author of We Were the Lucky Ones
“In lively prose set against the fascinating history of Grand Central . . . Grunwald asks a compelling question: How long would we stay in one place [for love]?”—Time
“The spectacular Lisa Grunwald has written a classic story of fate, true love, art, and chance with truth and beauty. You will want to share it with every reader you know.”—Adriana Trigiani, New York Times bestselling author of Tony’s Wife

An original story. Well written.
I didn’t like this book
What a wonderful love story! Also enjoyed the historical background.
The premise of this story is quite unique. The characters are enjoyable and believable. The author does an excellent job of creating the world the characters exist in so the reader can envision the details even if they’ve never seen the actual terminal. Escapism at its best!
Love this book, loved the history and such an interesting story.
Oh my gosh! Read this book! You won’t regret it!
My actual rating of this book is 4.6, but the program wouldn’t allow me to record partial stars.
The pace and detail brought this story to life for me, even though it required suspension of reason to buy into the premise. And while period pieces are not a favorite, that detail and pace allowed me to feel thoroughly immersed in that time as it unfolded. The male lead was an extremely likable character. I found myself reading longer than planned just to get closer to finding out if everything worked out for him.
I will read other books by this author, and recommend this one without reservation.
Learned so much about Grand Central Station!
I love time travel books. I’m still reading it and can’t put it down. It’s charming and a great escape. If you enjoy time travel, you will want to read Time After Time.
I loved hearing about the history of Grand Central station.
I loved the beginning but then it became redundant and couldn’t wait to just finish it.
I was happily surprised by how good this book turned out to be. The story and characters drew me in so well that I suspended all disbelief and simply went where the author took me. Great entertaining read!
I loved this story!
Creepy in a gross way. Lots of interesting information about Grand Central but it droned on a bit. Silly premise and plot.
I love time travel books and this one has many twists and turns to be an entertaining read.
If you liked The Time Travelers Wife, you like this. Engaging characters, historical context, interesting ending, satisfying.
Unique twist to the time travel theme. Really enjoyed this book. If you like “The Time Traveler’s Wife” and “Somewhere In Time”, you’ll love this book.
