Being an adult has its advantages…Lucas Abbott and his identical twin grew up sharing everything—including a reputation for funny, idiotic behavior. But now that Lucas is ready to shed that lovable-idiot image, grow up and have a real, adult relationship, the joke’s on him. He and his twin have fallen for the same woman.Crushed and hoping a few days on the slopes will work out his frustrations, … on the slopes will work out his frustrations, he heads for Stowe, Vermont. All thought of fun and relaxation flies away as a car spins out in a snowstorm, and his firefighter/paramedic training kicks into high gear.
Danielle Rowson is hoping to pick up the pieces and build a new life for herself and her daughter in Vermont. Winding up in a ditch in the middle of a blizzard isn’t part of the plan—and neither is the kind, sexy rescuer whose strong hands pull them to safety.
Lucas has been a little kid, a big kid and now an adult—and he discovers that adulting has more than one advantage. Especially when it comes to sharing with Dani and Savannah the one thing that’s his and his alone: his love.

I absolutely love these book !! Marie Force is a phenomenal author !! Lucas and his twin are the goofballs in the family. They’re both firefighters as well as work with the family businesses. This story has love and loss. Dani comes to Vermont to start a new life and spins out during the snow storm and ends up in a ditch. This happens in front of Lucas and his training kicks in to help her out. When he gets to the car he finds Dani isn’t alone…she has her young daughter in the back. As it’s skiing season there aren’t any rooms available so Lucas steps up more and offers her a room at his friends place. He later finds out that she has an interview at his family’s store. As they spend time together they learn more and more about each other. She loves his family even before meeting them. Lucas is falling in love as Dani fights it. She finds him very attractive but since she’s lost a love she doesn’t think she can do it again. Get your copy to see how it all unfolds. Will Dani continue to fight it or will she finally give in? Highly recommend…although you should read the others in this series beforehand, otherwise there will be lots of spoilers.
Once again Marie’s talented writing has me back visiting in Butler VT. Daniella and her daughter Susannah travel to VT from KY during ski season. Not planning ahead, looking at weather forecast she slides into a ditch, right in front of Lucas as he travels to Stowe. It’s a great story and a fun visit with the Abbotts.
I always love coming back to the quaint little town of Butler, Vermont and the amazing, boisterous Abbott family!
I really enjoyed Lucas’ story! We’ve known Lucas and his twin Landon to be rapscallions with devastatingly good looks and the sense of humor of a 12-year-old but it was awesome to see another, more vulnerable side to him. Lucas is struggling with his feelings for a woman his brother also has feelings for as well as his loyalty to his brother. Everything comes to a head at their twenty-seventh birthday party when Landon brings the woman to the party, devastating Lucas even more. Little did Lucas know that fate had other plans for him!
I absolutely love Lucas! This charming ladykiller is forever changed when he meets the lovely and resilient Dani and her beautiful daughter Savannah. The chemistry between the two is strong and Lucas is defenseless against the girls!
I loved watching Lucas “grow up” in the story. Lucas believed that now that he’s older, he should put childish things behind him but Dani, Savannah and the rest of the Abbott family help him realize that he can still be the Lucas he’s always been and accept and revel in the responsibilities of an adult.
And this can’t be a Butler, VT book without the entire Abbott family butting in to everyone’s business! There are tender moments between Lucas and Landon, Hannah and Dani and many more! And, as usual, Fred the Moose steals the show!
TILL THERE WAS YOU is not just a favorite Beatles’ song, it’s an amazing book of love, of growth, of grief, of perseverance and of hope! I would highly recommend this or any book in the Green Mountain/Butler, Vermont series!
***I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affects or influences my thoughts and feelings about the story***
LOVED! I haven’t read any of the rest of the series, but I thought this was a wonderful start! Dani & Lucas were soooooo cute. I loved watching Lucas & Savvy. I’ll definitely be going back and reading the rest of the series!
I just love the entire Butler, Vermont series. Lucan and Dani’s story was very enjoyable. Readers will go along with them as the meet, get to know each other, and eventually fall in love. We have seen Lucas been part of the goofball duo throughout this series, but this is the “grown-up” Lucas. It’s nice catching up with other family members. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
I so love “Till There Was You”. I missed the Abbot family and it was so good to catch up with them all. Lucas has decided to “grow up” much to the chagrin of his twin Landon. Lucas decides he needs to leave town for a few days but on his way the car in front of him swerves off the road into a ditch. Being the first responder he is, he rescues the driver Danielle and her daughter Savannah. They are thrown together via the circumstances that lead them on a road to friendship. Marie Force’s beautifully written book takes you on an emotional journey. Once you open it you will not want to put it down.
Till There Was You is the fourth book in the Butler, Vermont series by this author. Now, I’ve been a pretty big fan of hers for quite some time. It began with her Gansett Island series and bled over into her Fatal Series. But for some reason, I just hadn’t taken the leap into the Green Mountain or Butler, Vermont series yet. So when I was asked to read it and review it, I decided to jump in with both feet.
Lucas Abbott is your typical mid-to-late twenties aged guy. He’s certainly a responsible and well-respected member of the community, but he’s light-hearted and fun when the time is right. In other words, he works hard, but he plays hard too. Dani has had a rough year. She lost her fiance in a tragic accident just after finding out she was pregnant. Now, she’s a single mom trying to make a new start. Can these two make a go of it, or is the timing just too wrong?
This series reads a lot like the Gansett Island series. And since it’s the first series to pull me into this author’s writing, I couldn’t help but really like it! I come from a big family (my dad was the youngest of 10), so this book totally pulled me in. Big, close families are full of amazing stories, and some pretty funny times, usually. And Till There Was You definitely had both. The characters are varied, but lovable in their own ways. I loved the small-town feel of the setting too. I live in a bigger town now, but when we first moved here it was TINY. And even though I hated it when I was in high school, I miss it so much today. This book has me wanting to find a cute, quaint small town somewhere and just…LIVE! And Fred, the moose, kind of won me over too!
NICUnurse’s Rating: For contemporary romance fans, and second chance romance fans, Till There Was You will be right up your alley. It’s really hard to go wrong with a Marie Force book, and you certainly won’t be disappointed in the time you spend in Butler, Vermont! It’s a quick, satisfying read that ends in a happily ever after. I could absolutely see this being a Hallmark movie, so if that’s right up your alley, you’ll love this book. I give Till There Was You by Marie Force, 4 out of 5 stars!
Great return to Butler. Wonderful addition to the series. Lucas and Dani are adorable.
Catching up with the rest of the family is always a delight.
The perfect mix of emotion, tension, humour, family relationships, heat and some baby moose thrown in for good measure. The Abbott are the family we all want to be part of. Another winning installment in the Butler Vermont Series from Marie Force.
A perfect beach read for anyone who needs some HEA.
I really enjoyed this book. The blurb sold me on this book. A singe mom and a guy from a small town, yes please. I loved watching Lucas mature and find his own identity. He’s a twin and they have been joined by the hip where people can’t tell who is who. One night changes the course of life for both Dani and Lucas. Dani’s back story just breaks my heart, but also shows you the strength she has. She’s looking for a fresh start in Vermont, but she may gain more than she ever imagined. I loved Lucas’ family. They’re a big rowdy bunch that anyone would want to be part of. Lucas has me won over right from the beginning. He’s gentle giant which he proves when he helps Dani and her little one. I loved the scenes with Lucas and the kids. Warmed my heart and just proves once again what kind of man he is. Though he may not see of feel it at the time he is more than the fun loving jokester. This book has a nice flow to and I love the quotes before each chapter. It’s a book you van easily fall into and don’t resurface until you’re done.
It was time for Lucas to grow-up. Nothing is worse than liking the same woman that your identical twin liked. More so when it was obvious she was partial to his brother and not him.
Being in a grumpy mood and hoping to get away for a few days, nothing prepared him for how his life would suddenly change. All it took was watching a car skid off the road into a ditch. His firefighter/paramedic skills kicked in as he saved a young woman and her baby from their car. It was wedged between some trees and the two of them were hysterical.
Meeting Dani and Savannah was meant to be. For the first time in Lucas’ life, he was aware of the deep attraction he felt toward the four-month baby girl and her mother. This is the beginning of a love story that will grip your heart and make your soul soar. Do not miss this sweet romance!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
Check out this cover!!! Can’t wait to dive into this one!
Just when Lucas Abbott thinks things can’t get any worse than falling for the same woman as his identical twin, he rescues a single mom and her infant in a snow storm and discovers that he hasn’t seen anything yet when it comes to love. Return to Butler, Vermont and the always-entertaining Abbott family in Till There Was You!
The latest steamy tear-jerker from Marie Force…sign me up! Love the sound of this: “Just when Lucas Abbott thinks things can’t get any worse than falling for the same woman as his identical twin, he rescues a single mom and her infant in a snow storm and discovers that he hasn’t seen anything yet when it comes to love…”
Growing up is hard, but then there’s love.
“Unplanned detours can lead in interesting new directions ” according to Elmer Abbott.
That’s exactly what Lucas Abbott finds out when he “escapes” his hometown of Butler Vermont to try and rid himself of the jealous feelings toward Amanda, the girl who likes his twin brother.
I thought this was an awesome story. Anyone who is familiar with this series has watched Lucas and his twin brother act like lunatics over the last ten books. In this book however, we get to watch Lucas come into his own, to become the man we always knew was hidden, just waiting to appear. And appear he does, in an inspiring and unassuming fashion.
Lucas definitely becomes every bit the man we expect worthy of the Abbott name. Well done Ms Force! Another 5 star book filled with with humor, a few tears, new characters to love in the lovely Dani and her sweet daughter Savvy, and who could ever forget Fred the moose!!
4.5 stars
Lucas Abbott is known as one of the clowns of the Abbott family, along with his twin brother Landon. But lately Lucas feels like he doesn’t want to be labeled a clown and is interested in finding one woman to be with, growing up a little bit. The only problem is the woman he is interested in is also dating his brother. Figuring a weekend away will help him find perspective, Lucas heads to a friend’s cabin to ski and get his head on straight. When he watches the car in front of him spin out in a snowstorm, his firefighter training kicks in and he goes into rescue mode.
Danielle Rowson is trying to get her feet under her again, with her young daughter in tow. When she decided to relocate to Vermont, she hadn’t anticipated the weather causing a problem, nor did she consider that lodging in ski territory would be difficult to come by. Her attempts at providing for Savannah on her own are challenging her self confidence, especially as she finds herself relying on the help of a stranger at what seems like every step of the way.
I loved watching Lucas take on a more responsible role over the course of this book. He is still the fun-loving guy we knew, but it was his time to discover what it feels like to have people he loves who depend on him. This also means that for the first time, he is considering more than himself when he makes decisions about the future. Dani was not an easy choice for him, with the possibility that she wouldn’t even end up in Butler, but I loved the way she fit so seamlessly into the Abbott clan. Dani’s choices were a little more complicated. Her backstory broke my heart, but I loved the strength she showed even by just venturing to Vermont (even in those moments she didn’t see her own strength).
I always love returning to Butler and Green Mountain. Lincoln and Elmer are up to their matchmaking as usual, even when they aren’t directly involved with the match. The antics of this entire family, and Fred the Moose continues to entertain in each installment. This is one of those long standing series that has not faded with time, and I love just as much today as I did when I picked up the first. Each new installment rekindles the warmth, camaraderie, and community that is central to this series.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
It’s very hard to explain how this author makes me feel when ever I pick up one of her books, I feel like I’m going home, I feel like I’m catching up with friends but there’s more so much more and Till There Was You was everything I expected and it gave me all the feels I want in a great read.
Lucas and Landon Abbott are identical twins they even work together at the local fire station but when they both end up taking out the same girl on different nights Lucas decides it’s time to head off for some alone time at a friends mountain lodge but on the way he watches the car in front of him slide off the road and down into a ditch. After rescuing Dani and her adorable baby girl Savannah he offers her a place to stay while her car is being fixed up, what follows is a fun entertaining read that’s full of heart and soul. As always I loved getting to know the main characters but I also loved catching up with the Abbott’s and the residents of Butler Vermont including Fred the town moose. If you have never visited Butler before this book please don’t worry this can certainly be read as a stand-alone but I’m sure once you get to know the Abbott’s you will want more so be prepared to play catch up with the series. I was excited to be back with friends and I can’t wait for the remaining brothers stories. This book and series is highly recommended for all romance lovers .
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
I don’t think I’ve read any of the other books in this series but I might have in Green Mountain. I didn’t check before I received the advanced copy because it’s Marie Force! You can’t go wrong with Marie’s books.
In TILL THERE WAS YOU we have Lucas and Dani as the main characters. Lucas is an identical twin and Dani is a single mother of a 4 month old baby girl. They meet when Dani accidentally runs off the road, due to snow, and gets stunk in a ditch. Lucas happens to be right behind her and helps her and the baby out of the car.
This story isn’t hearts and rainbows for both characters. Dani is having a hard row of it over the last year and she’s a bit gun shy at starting something new. Especially when she really wants to prove to herself and her parents she can stand on her own two feet. It’s hard to learn that leaning on people for help does not make you weak. It only helps you become stronger for when you can’t lean and have to do it all by yourself.
Lucas is a champ though. He doesn’t give up and that’s exactly what Dani needs to see. I love how the author spun a section of the book where Dani asked for space and Lucas gave it to her and she totally misses him.
TILL THERE WAS YOU is a sweet love story of two individuals that are looking for more but not sure they’d ever find it.
I freaking love it! I mean, just look at this set up:
Just when Lucas Abbott thinks things can’t get any worse than falling for the same woman as his identical twin, he rescues a single mom and her infant in a snow storm and discovers that he hasn’t seen anything yet when it comes to love.
Return to Butler, Vermont and the always-entertaining Abbott family in Till There Was You!
Lucas & Danielle meeting was kismet!
Lucas was fresh off a recent situation which wasn’t what he believed it to be. Danielle needed to get away and be on her own for her and her baby girl. Their meeting was definitely fate. As with all Marie Force books, nothing worth having is achieved easily. This story is not different. I loved the slow burn, the chemistry, and the development of the story as it happened organically. Lucas was willing to wait for his future and Danielle needed to know she could be an independent woman. This is a great book perfect just in time for the summer!
Till There Was You is an open ended invitation to fall in love. Force welcomes readers with open arms and sends them on their way with warm hearts. By chance a broken hearted bachelor crosses paths with destiny when he helps a stranger. Dani and Lucas find love in a winter wonderland. Can that love survive their real world drama? Give your heart a break and your face a smile with a cuddleworthy romance.
