Just when Lucas Abbott thinks things can’t get any worse than falling for the same woman as his identical twin, he rescues a single mom and her infant in a snow storm and discovers that he hasn’t seen anything yet when it comes to love. Return to Butler, Vermont and the always-entertaining Abbott family in Till There Was You!
4.25 stars–TILL THERE WAS YOU is the fourth instalment in Marie Force’s contemporary, adult BUTLER, VERMONT romance series focusing on the Abbott’s and their extended family of cousins, in-laws and friends. This is fire fighter/paramedic Lucas Abbott, and single mother/ retail manager Danielle ‘Dani’ Rowson’s story line. TILL THERE WAS YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. The BUTLER, VERMONT series is a spin-off from the author’s GREEN MOUNTAIN SERIES but you do not need to have read the original series to understand or follow.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Dani and Lucas) TILL THERE WAS YOU follows single mother Dani Rowson as she ventures out on her own, only to drive into a blinding snowstorm where she will be rescued by our story line hero. With no place to go Lucas Abbott offers Dani and her infant daughter a place to stay, an offer that will turn into something more. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Dani and Lucas, and the potential fall-out as Dani struggles with her need to be independent.
Dani Rowson knows love and loss. Hoping to make a new start, our heroine heads to Butler, Vermont in the hopes of finding a job, and a new place to live. Unprepared for the Vermont weather, Dani finds herself in a desperate situation until a timely rescue by the man with whom she will fall in love. Lucas Abbott’s day wasn’t going so well. Angry with his twin Landon, Lucas heads to Stowe, Vermont for a little R&R where he will come face to face with his future in the guise of Dani Rowson.
The relationship between Dani and Lucas is one of immediate attraction and instant chemistry, but our heroine is desperate for a place to stay, and finds temporary accommodations with our story line hero. Believing he has found his happily ever after, Lucas struggles to keep his distance from the woman with whom he is falling in love. The limited $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
As per the series, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including the parents Lincoln and Molly Abbott, and grandfather Elmer; Lucas’ twin brother Landon, and several characters (Abbott family members) from the author’s Green Mountain series.
TILL THERE WAS YOU is a story of family, friendships, loss and love; a story of grief, starting over and second chances (of a sorts). The premise is engaging, real and entertaining: the characters are fun, energetic and familiar; the romance is seductive. TILL THERE WAS YOU is a heart warming, sweet and wonderful story with fantastic characters including a lonely moose called Fred.
5 Star Review of Till There Was You (Butler, Vermont #4)
Reading a Green Mountain or Butler Vermont book is to me like going home to visit my family. I love the Abbott family and absolutely loved Till There Was You.
I have been intrigued by Lucas and Landon Abbott from the first time they were mentioned and my interest has only been peaked as each book in the series was written. So to say I have been waiting for Lucas’s book is an understatement.
Marie Force did not disappoint in any way. It is an extremely well written sweet, sexy and romantic book. Marie Force’s characters are often slightly flawed, yet so realistic and relatable that you cannot help but be drawn to them.
Landon has always been his best friend, not just his twin, so to say Lucas is lost when they both fall for Amanda is an understatement.
Lucas is feeling adrift, resenting the one person he has always been able to depend on.
Escaping from his family, Lucas offers help to
Dani and her gorgeous little girl Savvy. Little does he know that decision will change his life for ever.
Dani’s story is heartbreaking and I admit to shedding a few tears as the story unfolded. It was heart warming to watch the growth and development of Lucas as he really came in to his own in this story and I loved it.
Till There Was You is at times a heart wrenching story of determination, courage, strength and above all love and acceptance. As always the Abbott family embrace Dani and Savvy with open arms and hearts.
The relationship between Lucas and Savvy was beautiful to witness. This is one of my favourite series and one I highly recommend and I cannot wait for the next book which promises to be just as amazing.
Now I have a new favorite.
Every time I read another book in this series, I find myself claiming a new favorite. But this time, the bar is set even higher (and it was already really high) and it’ll be tough to surpass it.
I loved seeing the changes in Lucas, how she craved to feel more, how he yearned to be a better person, the maturity that came to him and how he worked himself up.
Lucas and Landon were always the life of the party and I loved reading about them, but Lucas intrigued me, specially since Here Comes The Sun. I was crazy to read his HEA.
And it was better than I expected.
He was still funny, laid-back and down to earth. He was also sweet, protective, deeply devoted and so full of love, and he gave his love freely, without expectations. He loved as much as he respected.
The way he cared for Danielle and how taken he was of Savvy melted my heart into a puddle of love and hope.
Despite his free past, he was a natural around them. Every time he was with Savannah, I wanted to hold them both.
And Danielle deserved all he had to give (and it was a lot). She was resilient and strong and willing to get back up on her own two feet for herself and her baby Savannah. After going through a huge loss, loving someone wasn’t on her radar. But Lucas had a way of sweeping in and saving her and Savvy, in more ways than one.
My heart was full the whole book, and all I could do was swoon, laugh and love.
I enjoyed Til There Was You very much. The emotional journeys of the two main characters are touching, believable and engaging. There are funny moments, sad moments, tender moments and sexy moments – as there are in every book in this series. Big fan of the Butler Vermont series by Marie Force.
All Marie Force’s books are excellent!
Love this author she writes about family’s and love stories
I absolutely love Lucas and Dani’s story. What a better way for a story to start then with twins in lust with the same girl, one going off to get some alone time and actually meeting the girl of his dreams as she drives into a ditch?
Dani has issues of her own, as she’s a single mom because her baby daddy died in an accident before the baby was even born, and now she’s trying to start life over in a new place.
Talk about a story that pulls on all the heartstrings! Lucas falls in love with the baby almost immediately, but falls in love with the mom almost as fast. Falling in love for Dani takes a little bit more time. In typical Butler fashion, there’s lots of love joy and laughter, but also plenty of excitement and plenty of tears. Every time I read one of Marie Force’s Butler series I seriously considered moving to Vermont- although there’s all that snow and mud… but there are a few more brothers and cousins left!
What a great story! I was captured from the beginning and needed to keep reading. This series is really great and each new book just keeps adding to it. You get all the feels from Marie Force in this book. Highly suggest reading the whole series.
Great book!!!
I love the Abbott family. Every time Marie Force brings us back to Butler, Vermont it reminds me of home. Dani and Lucas’s story was sweet and funny and swoon- worthy. These Abbott men are what dreams are made of – kind, respectful, capable and sexy. Thanks again for another great Abbott story.
A new book from Marie Force is always a fun, quick read.
I have loved ALL the Vermont stories.
Oh My Goodness! Marie had me on a rollercoaster of emotions as I experienced Till There Was you. I laughed, I ugly cried, I felt every emotion possible as I experienced this story. It is the Fourth book in the Butler, Vermont Series, and continues in the world her Green Mountain Series started. It can be read as a standalone, as well. Marie is a genius at creating a wonderful world filled with memorable characters. She intricately weaves multiple storylines throughout several books in a series, but magically tells a story all on its own at the same time.
Having been a fan of this series, I’d been waiting for Lucas Abbott’s story to be told. He’s been known to be a practical jokester. He’s one of the younger sets of twins in the Abbott family who’s known for being the life of the party. When this book started, I thought it was going to go in one direction but Marie quickly changed it up and set us on a course to a much brighter horizon. Dannielle was the perfect person to win Lucas’ heart.
I loved their story from start to finish. In fact, I practically devoured it in one sitting. I lost sleep, shed tears, and laughed out loud as I read this story. My only complaint is that I had to see it end. I love the world Marie has created and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.
***4.5 HEA Stars***
Lucas Abbott, along with his twin brother Landon, has always been the comic relief of the Abbott family. With so many different personalities (I mean, TEN of the Abbott kids altogether!), having a couple to keep things light is a must. But there’s more to this twin, a side that he didn’t even know that he had. Just one meeting, one fateful night with a woman in distress, and things begin to change very quickly for him.
Danielle Rowson, running from tragedy that almost crushed her, finds herself in need of a helping hand while on the way to her new life. Enter Lucas, stepping in to save Dani and her baby girl in more ways than one. And, cue the Green Mountain magic…
Diving into any of the books in the Green Mountain/Butler, VT, series by author Marie Force is always like a special treat for me. This family is lovable beyond measure, and, even with so many of them to keep up with, it’s like no time has passed at all between visits. TILL THERE WAS YOU, like the rest, drew me right in and felt like a visit with family or a longtime friend. It is impossible to not enjoy life in Butler, with the Abbotts and their expansive family, and this was no different. Lucas is what every book boyfriend should be, and seeing him and Dani get to their HEA in Marie’s signature Green Mountain/Butler style is heartwarming and emotional, and is some of the most enjoyable reading I’ve done lately. As at the end of each book, I cannot wait for more, and look very forward to seeing Landon and Amanda get their story. If you haven’t read these series yet, I happily recommend that you take the time to get to know all the Abbotts and their stories. You will absolutely fall in love.
In true Marie Force fashion this is another heartwarming, sexy romance with to-die-for characters. And two characters come close to a tragic ending when a frigid day turns deadly for the lovely but frazzled, Danielle and her daughter. But thanks to the heroics of Lucas, the three begin a wonderful journey of healing and discovery that leads to a surprising romance that would melt anybody’s heart. Lucas finally finds who he is outside of being a twin and becomes the man he was meant to be not only for himself but for Dani and Savannah too. This author has given us another fantastic romance in a gorgeous setting with characters that jump off the pages right into our hearts. This is a great addition to an outstanding series that always tugs on the heartstrings and includes a wonderful romance. Loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
