“People don’t get second chances often, Sasha, but we got one, and I’m not going to let that pass us by.”
Till Death follows Sasha, the sole survivor of a serial killer nicknamed The Groom. After 10 years of being away, Sasha finally returns home to help her mother run the family inn. However, it seems like someone knew that she was returning causing the murders to start again. Enter Cole Landis, Sasha’s former boyfriend, who has always felt guilty for not walking her to her car the night she was abducted. This time, Cole is determined to not let anything happen to her.
I loved this book so much! I don’t actually read a lot of thrillers anymore so it was nice to dive into this book and have that adrenaline rush while you’re trying to figure out who the killer is. Add that into the fact that I can fly through a JLA book and I finished this book in an afternoon.
The characters are just perfect. Sasha is still clearly working through some things which is evident by the nightmares that she still has of her time with The Groom, but she doesn’t let that stop her from starting to live her life again. And Cole is just utter perfection. I mean we all know that Jen knows how to write a book boyfriend, so this shouldn’t come as any surprise. But there is just something about a guy that is not only protective over the woman they love, but they know what the want and they aren’t afraid to go after it. Cole knows that he loves Sasha, and that she came back into his life for a reason. And this time he’s not letting her go, no matter what.
If you’re looking for a romance that will make your heart melt, but also has a dash of mystery and danger, then this is the book for you. In fact, it’s a book that I will definitely be rereading, many times.
“I loved you ten years ago, Sasha. I loved you the entire time you were gone. And I loved you since the moment I walked into the dining room and saw you standing there.”
I’ve had this book on my TBR shelf forever and I’m so sorry I didn’t get to it quickly because I was missing SO MUCH. I loved this book. It was one of the best suspense novels I’ve read in ages, filled with plot twists I never saw coming. I love Armentrout’s writing style. I couldn’t set the book down until I finished it, which means nothing else got done for an entire day.
I love when a story takes over my day. I’m setting this on on my Keeper Shelf so I can read it again someday. Now, on to another Armentrout story!

Let’s start out by saying that in the end, I found some of the supposed to plot twists a bit lacking. I also guessed who the murderer was (so not really a surprise there). Now did that matter for the story? No! Absolutely not. Normally I would think this would bother me, but it didn’t in this case. This book kept me at the edge of my seat, just waiting and curious to read what would happen next. It was not the search for the culprit that kept me enthralled, but just the story itself and what would happen next did. The suspense was just killing me (pun intended). All in all, I would recommend this book to those looking for a suspenseful romance read.

Although repetitive at times, the author spins an interesting yarn about a woman, Sasha, coming home after surviving a serial killer’s abduction. In general, the characters are well-rounded. I particularly liked Sasha’s best friend, Miranda. She’s awesome and I would have liked to see her figure more prominently in the storyline. I found Sasha a bit blind at times and some of her reactions felt a little unrealistic for someone who’d been through what she had been. I’d figured out the villain by the halfway point, but the romance was nice and it was still an enjoyable read (or listen, in my case).
This was my first book by Jennifer that wasn’t paranormal romance so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but Jennifer, in typical fashion, did not disappoint.
Ten years after surviving abduction by the Groom,Sasha has returned to her hometown. It was not an easy decision but she decided it is time to come back and help her mum with the Inn.
As soon and she gets back, weird things start to happen that would freak out anyone, especially someone who survived being kidnapped by a serial killer. I admired Sasha’s strength and bravery. She could have packed up and hightail it out of the town but she was determined to stay and face her fears.
Cole was the perfect male lead. He was so sweet and adorable and so patient with Sasha. He was always there for her and did not let her push him away. I adored him from the first moment he was introduced.
I really liked Miranda and Sasha’s mom, they were great characters and Sasha is a lucky girl to be surrounded by people like them.
Let me just say that I had feeling about who the Groom might be quite early on, but I was still hoping I was wrong. It took everything in me not to skip to the end of the book and confirm by suspicion. But holy hell, the reveal was so worth it and I am glad I didn’t spoil it for myself.
Till Death is the perfect blend of mystery, thriller and romance. It will keep you on your toes and will hold your attention until the very last page.
Sasha comes back into town to help her mom with her B&B after being gone for years after she was the last victim of a serial killer named “the Groom”. She escaped and has been trying to put her past behind her. Cole was the boyfriend she was with when her world came crashing down. Now an FBI agent, he wastes no time welcoming her back to town and trying to get her to realize that they can have a fresh start and he never forgot her. When a bunch of scary and weird things happen, Cole vows to protect Sasha this time.
I loved the love story in this book, the second chance that Sasha and Cole get, but the mystery I had figured out early. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the book, I just wish it wasn’t so predictable to me so early on. It was super creepy though and makes you think about the people around you and how well you know them.
One of my favorite romantic suspense books of all-time!

Review:
This book was really something different. It’s not something we see Jen write about often but she absolutely nailed it! It was so amazing!
What is this book about:
This book is about Sasha and Cole. Sasha didn’t have it easy. She was kidnapped by a serial killer, held hostage and tormented. She managed to escape but she hasn’t been the same since. She left her home town but now she’s back.
She’s surprised that the man she once loved, cole, never really left town. Cole is a cop, and ladies, who doesn’t like a man in uniform. He’s hot, sexy, a alpha male and charming. He is willing to fight for a second chance with Sasha. But the question is, is Sasha willing to try, especially when the past came back to haunt her?
Sasha believed she would be save back home but ever since she got back strange things have been happening, and they get stranger each time.
Cole is determent to keep Sasha save this time, he won’t let her slip away again. But will who ever is tormenting Sasha let him have her? After all she is the sole survivor, unfinished business so to say.
What did I like/love about this book:
I liked the suspense and thrill of this book. It was like watching a very hot episode of criminal minds.
I never once figured out for sure who the killer was. I mean I guessed but I wasn’t a 100% sure.
I really loved Cole. He was such a hot alpha male. He was very caring and very kind. He really made Sasha feel safe and I liked that.
Overall I really enjoyed this book! I hope that Jen will write more suspense novels. I really liked them.
Rating:
4 1/2 I loved it Stars
Great romantic suspense novel by Jennifer L. Armentrout. There are many authors who try this genre and end up not grabbing my attention. Jennifer did a great job, and I loved that she took her time to really tell a story. I loved Cole, and I appreciated that he didn’t hold a grudge against Sasha, which was refreshing. Sasha is a strong woman who still has demons to fight both mentally and literally. How much bad luck could a woman have, that the moment she comes back after being gone for ten years, that she becomes a target again. Sasha and Cole were perfect for each other, I loved that they got a second chance at love.
The suspense part was done really well, however there were a couple of things I predicted early on, so I was glad when she threw a plot twist in the book. I also enjoy reading the inner monologues of killers, so I was happy that it was included in this book. There were a couple of emotional scenes, and I was glad that the author took it there. It gives an extra emotional punch and makes the reader feel more connected to the characters and story. The writing was great and I am hoping that the author will write more books in this genre, because she did an awesome job.
I’m a huge fan of romantic suspense. It’s got all the feels a good romance has with the added bonus of keeping me on the edge of my seat frantically reading on to find out what happens next. And I can honestly say Jennifer Armentrout knocks romantic suspense out of the park! I hope she writes more in the future. This book was the perfect balance of thriller and mystery with a good dose of second chance love to keep things steamy.
Sasha is a survivor. She’s the only one who escaped the serial killer known as The Groom. She’s spent the last ten years simply exiting; and now after all this time, and isolating almost everyone she is returning home. She’s trying to start living again and has retuned to help her mother run their family-owned inn. Shortly after returning to town, strange things start happening to her, and another big part of her past comes back; Cole Landis. The boy she was dating before she was taken. The boy she loved, and left without a word, but never forgot. He’s now an FBI agent and when women start disappearing he vows to protect her.
This book was awesome. It kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what would happen next. It had me swooning hard! Cole is great! I couldn’t put it down and as hard as I tried I never could quite figure it out. Like I said before, this book is the perfect balance of suspense and swoon worthy romance.
I pretty much enjoy everything JLA writes, and have enjoyed her books that delve into more of the real world and peoples struggles after traumatic experiences. Loved the characters, and the story, though on this one, I can say I saw coming a bit more than some of her others that have more of a “surprise twist” and the end.
This is a truly great book. Well written characters, great plot line, interesting twists and turns until the end. Everything a good romantic suspense book should be. I highly recommend!
Love Jennifer Armentrout, especially her paranormal stories. This was not one of her better books. It was kinda boring, you could tell right from the beginning who the bad guy was. …
Fast paced thriller that will keep the reader turning the pages. A surprise at the end of the story will keep you invited. A great love story of new beginnings and second chances.
When I started this book, I’ll be honest, I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it. I wasn’t really in the mood for a murder mystery type book, but it was my Book Club book. I was pleasantly surprised, however, and I ended up LOVING it. It’s also my first book by this author, but it’s obvious that I must read more!
The focus of the first part of the book is on establishing a bit of history for the main character and setting up some strange happenings that get the reader trying to figure out what is going on. About midway through the book though, we get introduced to a bit of a love story that’s going along side by side with the bigger murder mystery theme. Usually, I would cling to the love story and be a bit bored and maybe even skim the mystery/crime bits if I’m in the mood for romance over mystery (which I was at this point in time.) I’m glad that wasn’t the case this time, because the author was so descriptive in her writing and made me really want to know what was going on and “whodunit” so to speak.
I also love that even up until the end I was clueless as to who was behind everything. When the bomb dropped I gasped and covered my mouth like was in some dramatic movie! I love when stories can shock you to your core like that.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a romantic suspense book, but also anyone who enjoys crime fiction/murder mysteries or contemporary romances. I think it will pull lovers of either genre in and grip them until the very last page.
