Misty Pennebaker came to Eden’s Ridge to escape a painful past and find a new beginning. She’s built a life surrounded by beauty, with her gift shop showcasing local artisans and her work as the only florist in town. Contented with her shop and her dog, the last thing she’s looking for is a relationship. Especially one with the gorgeous, tattooed biker who works at the tavern down the street.… street.
Denver Hershal has been aware of Misty since she showed up in town three years ago. Aware, and interested. But he doesn’t have time for more than running his bar, tinkering with his vintage motorcycle, and riding herd on his pup–or so he tells himself. No matter how much his heart races whenever he’s near her. Besides, why would a beautiful, modern-day flower child want anything to do with a rough-around-the-edges bar owner?
When his bartender cooks up a matchmaking scheme to put Denver in Misty’s orbit, he’s surprised at how much he has in common with her–including their mutual tendency to want to leave the past in the past and keep it private. But what will happen when Misty’s private past is revealed, and clashes painfully with the things Denver’s tried to put behind him?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Booksprout.
Kait Nolan know how to write romance stories! Whether it is a “Meet Cute” or a full story, Nolan does not disappoint! And “Til There Was You” was no exception! This story is part of a series that takes place in eastern Tennessee. Nolan’s descriptions of the small town, the quirky but lovable people, and the surrounding mountains make you want to pack up and move there! Although this is not the first story in the series, it would be a great place to start. It does revolve around the wedding of two characters from the first book in the Misfit Inn series, “When You Got a Good Thing”, you can read this story and still go back to where it all began. This is a fairly short book – so a great way to start a new series, become aquainted with more of Nolan’s wonderful books, continue with your love of this author, or just get in to some romance.
I rather enjoyed the book. The quick pace was a definite plus as I’ve been crazy busy. Denver & Misty are both people with issues, and while Denver has a harder time overcoming his, their story is beautiful. I rather enjoyed Oscar & Moxie too.

What a great return to Eden’s Ridge!
Both Misty and Denver have pasts that they want to leave behind them. And while Denver has been aware of Misty for the last 3 years, he just won’t let himself go there until he falls victim to some well-meaning matchmaking efforts in the form of wedding planning for someone else!
While their pasts come back to haunt them, in the end they get their happily ever after and a new lease on life.
Great characters with depth and heart, a engaging and interesting plot, and just solid writing all around. Kait Nolan never lets me down.
It was wonderful to return to Eden’s Ridge – I simply love that little town and the world Kait Nolan has created for us! And it was so easy to fall in love with Misty and Denver (and Moxie and Oscar) and get swept up in the romance and the heartbreak and the HEA.
Now I want to (re-)read ALL the Eden’s Ridge stories, they are kind of addictive – in the very best way. 🙂
When a story by Ms. Nolan comes across my hands, the to do list is forgotten, and all I want to do is get lost in the story. This one once again proved my point.
This time the story centers around Misty Pennebaker and Denver Hershal.
Denver is the local bar owner who since the day Misty moved into town, has been enchanted by her, but never really talked to her. Misty is the owner of the flower shop in town. A woman that reminds him of the yesterday days, with flowers on her head, and flowing dresses.
But it isn’t until they are asked to work together for a friend’s wedding, that they start a friendship and maybe more.
These two have a heartbreaking past that has molded them to whom they are today.
Will it keep them apart and have them miss out the chance of finding their HEA or will they realize that overcoming those doubts are worth the prize?
With an engaging plot, and complex characters, the author once again manages to touch our hearts and mind.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Booksprout. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Denver and Misty come together while helping out Kennedy with her wedding. Misty is a strong yet gentle woman who knows when to take the lead and when to step back. Denver is a little shy and is scarred by pat experiences that make him weary of any emotional attachments. Kait has written another love story that keeps you routing for the couple until the very end. Absolutely loved this book.

Such a great addition to the misfits inn series. A comfy, cozy short story that doesn’t feel at all rushed. Misty and Denver make a great pair. You can get a feel for their connection and who they are through the writing. Plenty of romance and loved how the dealt with issues. Definitely recommend reading.

A wonderful story! Misty & Denver’s storyline is easy to relate to as well as entertaining. Kait Nolan does an excellent job depicting small town dynamics and romance. Kait never disappoints.
The brightness in his life….Denver, a bar owner, has been intrigued with Misty since she moved to town. Seeing Misty wearing flowers in her hair from her floral shop brightens his day. Even though, they have a nodding acquaintance, they don’t really know each other. Both of them have kept their pasts private in their small town.. Working on a project together starts to bring them closer together, but their past might pull them apart I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.. This is a sweet and realistic romance. I like how the story is told from both Denver and Misty’s point of view. I love this novella.
I truly enjoyed Til There Was You! Misty & Denver are such relatable characters. It’s such a fun opposites attract love story. Don’t miss this easy read! Kait Nolan is a true talent not to be missed!

This is another home run hit by Kait Nolan. In this book, we watch Denver and Misty as they get to know each other and fall in love. But it’s not just their story. It’s three for one because we also get to peek in as Kennedy and Xander plan their wedding, and we also get a sneak peek at the beginning of Pru and Flynn’s relationship, and learn a little more about what happen Joan and how Ari came to join the family. All in all, it proved highly satisfying, as all of Ms. Nolan’s books do.
Denver owns the tavern; Misty owns the flower shop. They seem to have nothing in common until Kennedy and her wedding planner instigate a meeting between the two, creating a reason for Denver and Misty to work together. It doesn’t take long until they realize that they have some things in common and that they enjoy spending time together. Is it enough? Will it last? Read this book to find out. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, and her talent, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review express my true and honest reactions to reading this book.
I loved the expansion of Misty and Denver’s story. These are great characters from the Misfit Inn series and it was a great story between them. Misty and Denver operate on the edges of each other’s worlds but neither has ever found an excuse to actually interact even though they are both interested. Eventually their friends make that decision for them. As they get to know each other, their pasts refuse to stay hidden. With their past lives at odds will they be able to find common ground and leave the past in the past?
Til There Was You is a well one return to the Misfit Inn. Flower shop owner Misty and Bar Owner Denver had been set up as working together on Kennedy and Xander’s wedding preparations would give them a Chance to spend time together. This is a wonderful sweet Romance that has been expanded from the original cute meet book. Kait Nolan is a terrific author and it is always a delight to visit the Misfit Inn. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.
ARC for honest review with no compensation received from BookSprout
Til There Was You is book 1.5 novella in the Misfit Inn series by Kait Nolan. I read the short version called Once Upon A Wedding a long time ago. Love this updated and extended version about Misty and Denver!
Two people who are working together for one of their friend’s wedding but an attraction between them makes them both look inside at the feelings they have but have never acted upon them.
Will these two find a way to connect, open their hearts and put all the traumas from their past in the past and make a future together??
Till there was you
Kait gave us a peek of two of her minor charters in one of her main series. I enjoyed Misty and Denver love story. It was a fun fast read, perfect for a cold snowy day.

This is such a sweet romantic story about two people who’ve been hurt by “the system” and who unexpectedly find love. Set against the backdrop of Eden Ridge, Tennessee and all its quirky characters, this standalone romance features Misty and Denver. They are thrown together to make magic happen for Kennedy and Xander’s wedding and wend their way through initial awkwardness, adorable dogs and noisy neighbors as they try to move past the devastating losses that caused them to run away to Eden’s Ridge in the first place. Will Denver be able to heal himself enough to forgive what Misty represents? Will they bring each other even more heartbreak together or apart?
Filled with sweet heat and humor, fear and feelings, this is such a perfect Valentine’s Day read!
