From Wall Street Journal & USA Bestselling Author M. Robinson, comes a rock star contemporary romance filled with angst and all the feels.
Once upon a time… dragons, demons, and villains.
Until her Prince Charming let his demons prevail.
She cried and begged and prayed.
She hated him.
She loved him.
She couldn’t save him.
“I’m sorry.”
“I love you.”
Were five words she despised more than anything.
Her fairy tale had become her worst nightmare.
She didn’t know how much more she could take.
She didn’t know love could turn into hate.
There were so many things she didn’t know.
Especially, how to tell him, “No.”

This is the conclusion to Cash and Journey’s story and the Queen of Angst has blown me away with the emotional roller-coaster she put me on with this one! BUT, it wouldn’t be Monica if she didn’t beat your heart up a bit before she made it better!
This was raw, gritty and simply beautiful!! tissues and alcohol will be needed and you may need the emotional support of fellow readers afterwards but its worth every single word!
well done M on another simply phenomenal duet!!
Cash and Journey. I was really looking forward to this book, to see how their story would go. I really enjoyed reading about these two. I have to say, I thought there would be a lot more angst with these two, especially since this is an M. Robinson book. There were some parts that I wanted a little more information or want to see certain things really played out, but overall I enjoyed this book and the duet.
Til The Last Lyric is a beautiful, devastating, heart wrenching emotional read. Cash and Journey’s story is pack full of emotions that will have you rocking in a corner bawling your eyes out. Monica has a way with words that make you feel like you are experiencing everything her characters are going through… the good, the bad and the ugly. This is by far the best rocker duet I have read and my new favorite!!!
The Queen of Angst once again lives up to the name. This book slayed me. If I could give it more stars, I would in a heartbeat.
I’ve read nearly (if not) all of Ms Robinson’s books and I can’t think of one of her men that I haven’t loved from the start…until Cash came along. He won me over a little in From The First Verse but I still wasn’t his biggest fan. By the end of Til The Last Lyric i’d admitted defeat and accepted that I couldn’t not love him. Journey was the star of this book for me, even though it is Cash’s story. I love everything about her, the woman she’s turning into and her devotion to Cash.
I expected some twists and turns, like I’ve said I’m not new to this author so I always brace myself for the unexpected when reading her books. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, could’ve prepared me for the twists in this book. I was picking my jaw up off the floor more than once. It was like bam, bam, bam with the twists, leaving me wondering just wtf was going on. And I cried! I have to put that in my review because we all know this author lives for her readers tears. Wasn’t expecting to get teary eyed over what I did but it was like emotion overload. Ms Robinson has always had a talent of playing with her readers emotions and this time she really went all out. The angst, the emotional punches, the twists, turmoil and conflict, were all done in that way that only M Robinson can do.
I 1000% recommend this book! Especially if you’re an angst lover. You need Cash and Journey in your life!

Book 1 Review:https://meander23.com/2020/03/24/reviewfrom-the-first-verselife-of-debauchery-1-m-robinson/
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book in exchange for honest review.
Finally, I did listen to some of the “Johnny Cash” music for the first time, after reading the first book in the series.
The conclusion to Cash and Journey’s story is an intense read. This book started off with the final scene in Book 1, but from Cash’s POV. He lays it all out there – he is broken, and struggling to let go of his demons. Every time he thinks he can run away he is been pulled back. He thinks he has his life of debauchery in control and it takes him long to realize that it’s not.
Journey, is too mature for an 18year old. She wanted to believe the best in everyone. She thinks she can fight for Cash and get him back. Cash and Journey’s path are not smooth. There is a sweet, lovely moments, moments of strength and happiness but many moments of weakness, disaster and heartache. Cash has long road for salvation. Will Journey be able to stand with him and support him through out? Is Cash ready to accept his road for salvation? Along with that he has a lot to make up with his family. His behavior from past has deeply affected his extended family. Now it’s time to mend them. His confrontation and talk with his old man were emotional.
Story moved in study pace, but I did feel like too much drama in the end at certain point, but its ok for this continual journey. Totally loved the banter moments with Jude, Beck and Stinx. I hope to see more about them at some point. Jackson and Harley were best.
Over all, It’s gritty, raw and also an intense read filled with hope. It shows about self-reflection, passion and healing to be a best version of yourself for self and for others. Go ahead and enjoy this intense angst read.

This is the 2nd part and conclusion of Cash and Journey’s story and I am totally blown away by this emotional roller coaster, which ripped my heart straight out of my chest. These two are both haunted by their demons, but can they help each other and can the unredeemable be redeemed? This is a beautifully written flawless story which is raw, gritty, heart-wrenching and with angst which all leads of an all-consuming and powerful tale. Hats off to the queen of angst for once again penning a truly brilliant masterpiece!! Tissues and lots of them are a requirement! I cannot wait for this gifted author’s next novel, and I highly recommend for all readers.
What an emotional, heartfelt conclusion to such a great story! I felt everything to my core. To me I was experiencing it right along with them. The twist and turns I couldn’t have even image they were coming.
Truly getting lost in M Robinson’s books are so easy. She sucks you in and completely destroys you with all these emotions. She’ll take you for on epic ride to only leave you completely satisfied.
Words can’t describe how good this book is. It’s Cash struggle with fighting his demons and the battle to over come it. It’s emotional story. You’ll cry and be super mad but over all you’ll love the crap out him and want nothing more than to hold me. I wasn’t a fan of Cash. But in book 1 Robinsoin soften my heart and in this book she completely tore it open and changed my mind completely. Slowly making me realize he might be on of my favorites!
With all that is going on around us, getting lost in a good book is the best escape. This book will do just that!
‘Til the Last Lyric is the emotional conclusion to the Life of Debauchery’s duet – the story of Cash and Journey – an age gap romance that pulls you in and doesn’t let go until the last word. Reading book one – From the First Verse is necessary and an absolute. If you haven’t read book one yet – get them both and binge read – IMMEDIATELY!
Blown away! That’s the two words that came to mind when I finished. Author M. Robinson has brought me to my knees with Cash and Journey’s story. The twists, the turn were unexpected and kept me reading for hours upon end.
When it comes to the Good Ol’ Boys – Austin is my favorite…and Cash reminded me of Austin. Journey & Cash’s story brought me back to those feelings of deep despair, the need and the sadness. But I also was given the redemption, the recovery, the love, the emotion that M. Robison always gives us. Oh, the tears – M. Robinson prides herself on getting her readers to cry – to feel – to live what her characters are feeling, and this book is no different.
In my opinion the writing this book is some of M. Robinson’s best. Her ability to transform me into the lives of her characters, make me feel what they feel, see what they see was superb
I have read every one of M Robinson’s books and Til The Last Lyric is by far her best book to date! Actually it is hands down the best book I have read yet in 2020. Everything about this story was powerful, mind blowing, and intense. I have never been so all over the place while reading a book before. The angst. The emotions. The feels. Til The Last Lyric delievered it and more. Something about Cash and Journeys story just hit me different then all the rest. I could relate to their pain on a different level then I have any hero or heroine before. Every page of this book bled the emotions of these characters. Once I started reading I stood no chance of stopping. I devoured it in less than a day. I can already feel the book hangover coming on because I truly never wanted Cash and Journeys story to end. It took me on a journey I never in a million years would have seen coming watching these characters grow up. It was a original emotion fueled ride I would gladly get on again.
Journey will always and forever be my favorite heroine of all time. Something about her just stands out above all the rest. Maybe it’s because we watched her grow up through two previous stories but I just felt this big connection to her character. She was so easy to relate too and just down right made the story fun. I was so thankful we got more of her POV this book. She added so much wisdom, innocence, and flare that balanced everything perfectly.
Cash definitely kept me on my toes and frankly I am still in the fence with his character. He’s one hero that takes love, hate to a completely new level. He redeemed himself for me in some ways but in others he didn’t. But I respect his character and the fact his destructive, crazy, complicated life made for one of the best love stories I have read. Johnny Cash McGraw will steal your heart before you even realise he’s doing it.
*5 STARS*
Is simply not enough for this story or duet. I wish I could give it infinite stars because it is really just that fantastic. I could not stress nor recommend it enough how much you need really to read this book. One click this duet y’all it will rock your world.
Intense, angsty. Incredible book! This gave me everything to lol moments to extreme moments of crying! Monica is a master of words in this book! Cash and journey TRY to get their hea – but not without many unexpected twists and turns!
My favorite book of 2020!
Holy mother of all angst I can’t remember the last time a book wrecked me this way. M. Robinson warned her readers she was going for the kill and didn’t lie! I don’t know how she did it, but she redeemed the unredeemable. She made me fall in love with one of her most flawed and broken alphas. I was rooting so hard for Cash and Journey to get their happy ending (they do). That doesn’t mean this story was all rainbows and butterflies. Nope. It wouldn’t be a M. Robinson book if it didn’t have heart-wrenching moments. She had me sobbing hard. I had to take small breaks because I couldn’t see from all the crying. I had a headache and boogers (tmi I know!). By the end of the book, my heart was so full and happy that I forgave the author for messing with my emotions in such an evil way. Y’all have been warned. Stock up on wine and tissues. Oh, and one more thing- I am super excited for the next book! I need it asap!
I am at a bit of a loss..Cash and Journey are great characters that both are strong and stubborn..both are dealing with loss that is tearing apart their relationship. Journey is old beyond her years and I have loved her since she was born..Cash is the character you love and want to hate..yet can’t bring yourself because he is broken.
Monica Robinson you have a great book and you do bring the angst lady.
This book was amazing I could not put it down. M Robinson is amazing she had me crying I never cry lol. This duet is amazing recommended to anyone. Junie and Cash forever!
Well. I have to say that with Till the Last Lyric, along with its mate, From the First Verse, M. Robinson has created one of her most tortured heroes to date. I mean seriously, Cash McGraw has everything he could possibly want out of this life including his beloved Junie by his side, and yet he is still rattled by way too many demons. Thoughts that continue to plague him and force his hand, delving into a bottle of Jack as his constant escape. And in this well-written and wildly emotional conclusion to the Life of Debauchery duet, just as he thinks he has found his calm in Journey, Cash takes a nosedive no one saw coming. Not even him.
With Robinson clearly pulling no punches, we pick up exactly where we left off in book one and I have to say that for me, Journey is truly the bright spot of this story. Even at the young age of 18, she shows an abundance of maturity, trying her hardest to hold onto the oft-times impetuous Cash Motherf&%kin McGraw. And finally realizing that maybe he cannot be contained. That maybe she isn’t enough. That her reasoning may not work with a man who is full of self-loathing and is simply scared of facing what he left behind all those years ago.
There are an incredible amount of surprises and jaw-dropping revelations along the way as Journey and Cash try and figure out a future that includes not only their fated love but some semblance of peace with their extended family members back home. I wasn’t prepared for all of the fallout and it ripped my own heart out over and over again. But the way everything comes together as Cash starts his trek to healing his tattered soul is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming beyond belief.
For me, this tale of redemption and hope features a couple who fight hard, love even harder and decide together that anything is possible. But on the other hand I had hoped that we could have been privy to a few of the necessary confrontations that Cash needed to have and that a part of me feels everything was tied up in a bit too quick and perfect bow towards the book’s end. That maybe that bow should have been a little more crooked and that Cash’s actions should have been more in line with a 30 year old man instead of the 18 year old boy still stuck in his head.
However, I did enjoy this addictive ride immensely and will forever be a fan of this Author’s work. Especially what seems to be in store next, I really do adore how everyone and everything seems to be interconnected allowing us readers to connect the dots one book at a time.
Well worth your time, I happily give Till the Last Lyric a solid 4.5 stars!
Calling this story a love story probably won’t be right, because it is not just a love story, but a journey through life. It involves all the nuances that make up life – the love, the hurts, the mistakes, the lessons, the ego and ultimately the path to redemption and forgiveness that brings it back full circle to family. And the other thing that makes my heart hurt with happiness is Monica’s evolution as a writer. She was amazing before, but through Cash’s journey, she has reached for the stars. Through each word, each quote of rock-stars, she penned the life of an artist, a musician and showed us that they feel deeper, hurt deeper, and experience life on and off stage at such a profound level that us fans sometimes don’t think about.
Monica created the perfect broken hero in Cash. His truths hurt my heart. His pain and hurts hurt my heart. His helplessness hurt my heart. He created music to express his emotions but in all the fame and glory, that little boy Cash was left behind.
And journey. She is an old soul, but Monica did such a brilliant job showing how youth sometimes becomes a detrimental factor in dealing with major life issues. As youngsters, we think we can take on the world, but life has a way of showing us that ultimately our biggest support is our family.
As I said before, this isn’t a love story, but a journey through life. And Monica has thrown in so many twists and turns that I don’t think my heart will heal in a long time to come. She has done a tremendously fabulous job of telling Cash and Journey’s story and I look forward to reading more of her future words to come.
Cash’s journey delivers an intense and compelling road to love and forgiveness. In pursuit of his passion for music, he has pushed everyone that mattered to him away but Journey hasn’t given up on him. Being around her forces him to face the demons he has been running from but will it lead to redemption or his demise? I truly never knew what to expect next during this crazy, tumultuous ride. I love how raw and honest this story is. Journey is a force to reckoned with, never losing faith that Cash can find his way to her and his family. The true test, will Cash believe that he deserves to be loved. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I have to say that I have never felt more emotionally drained while reading one of her books than I did with this one. I literally felt every emotion and pain they went through. Cash had his reasons for doing what he did. So did Journey. But with a little understanding and a lot of love things can work out. Can’t wait to see what she does next!
I have wrote a lot of reviews but I cannot seem to put the words together for this book that reflects just how simply perfect it truly is. M. Robinson has written a complete masterpiece. I do not ugly cry very often while reading but at least three times I had to stop reading to get my emotions under control. From the heart wrenching layers that Cash had to go through to the debilitating emotions that Journey had to travel through. It was the perfect combination of beautifully written characters, high emotional impact and a storyline that is a movie in the making. Journey is to Cash as June was to Johnny. Take a bow M. Robinson – you NEVER disappoint!!
Till the Last Lyric is the much awaited conclusion to the Life of Debauchery duet which is the story of Cash McGraw and Journey Pierce. Cash is a rock star facing his own demons, and Journey is his muse. As with all of M. Robinson’s books, this one has ALL. THE. EMOTIONS. I laughed, I cried, and at times I was afraid to keep reading for fear of what was going to happen. Amazing story and I can’t wait to see what this author writes next!
Book two of the Life of Debauchery duet and we continue with the epic love of Cash and Journey. M Robinson never fails to take her readers on an emotional rollercoaster but this duet has surpassed her previous books. The truths that are Cash’s life when laid bare are as devastating as they are heartbreaking. You may be like me and had ideas of how the story would go but I wasn’t even close. We go back to times in both their lives and discover they have more on common than I could ever have expected. I truly believe they were fated to be together. The story is a wild ride with the rocker and his Junie. There aren’t many authors who can make you smile on one page and then the next leave you a crying mess but M does it with such ease I could hear her cheering with glee.
Buckle up guys I hope your ready for Cash and Journey and the big surprise she springs at the end.
