From Wall Street Journal & USA Bestselling Author M. Robinson, comes a rock star contemporary romance filled with angst and all the feels.
Once upon a time… dragons, demons, and villains.
Until her Prince Charming let his demons prevail.
She cried and begged and prayed.
She hated him.
She loved him.
She couldn’t save him.
“I’m sorry.”
“I love you.”
Were five words she despised more than anything.
Her fairy tale had become her worst nightmare.
She didn’t know how much more she could take.
She didn’t know love could turn into hate.
There were so many things she didn’t know.
Especially, how to tell him, “No.”

Johnny Cash McGraw has demons so overwhelming that they take over his life and cause him to hurt the people he loves most. But what he doesn’t understand is that those people still love him, no matter how much he hurts them. Will he ever clean up his act and be the man they know he is hiding beneath the layers of pain?
‘Til the Last Lyric was painful to read. I’m just going to be honest, because it was. Cash was so damaged, hiding so much raw pain that it practically bled from his pores and made me a little uncomfortable. Even though it was painful to read, I’m still glad I got to read it, though, because I ended up liking it. There’s a ton of drama, perhaps a tad too much, intense emotions, lots pain and tears, and finally, some healing and through it all there was Journey, standing beside her man like the amazing woman she is. She’s my favorite part of this story, the peace to Cash’s chaos, the light to his dark and I’m so glad she finally got the love, and the man, she deserved.
There was not an emotion I did not experience while reading this incredible book. Monica has outdone herself and owns my heart and soul through the magic of these words. The stark contrast between the innocence and sweetness of Journey and the Cash’s demons has a reader unsure what the best outcome will be for these two yet still deeply invested in their story and cheering them on. Something I appreciate the most about this writing is the depth and rawness of the characters that is so well described and detailed I feel like I am right there with the characters.
This is not a cupcake and fairy dust love story but a love story that has such depth and amount of just pure raw emotions in this book were incredible and I cannot recommend this read enough.
Addiction can destroy even the sweetest love story. *Sigh* The completion of Cash’s story was never going to be a smooth ride, but I wasn’t prepared for so much heartache and pain that was practically spilling from almost every page.
While this is an angsty love story, there is a heavy focus on Cash’s out of control lifestyle. To say his life is a mess is an understatement! Sadly, Cash struggles to accept the mistakes of his past and runs from it anyway he can, destroying the lives (again) of the people who love him. I felt so bad for the pain Cash was enduring, but his selfishness in the midst of his suffering was really hard to read.
Journey is still Cash’s rock, his support when he feels like no one loves him. I loved how open and vulnerable she is with her feelings even though she takes major risks with her sensitive and vulnerable heart.
Cash’s story is messy, heartbreaking, selfish, needy, and beautiful in it’s imperfection. He is not the knight in shining armor, but he is honest in his pain and need. His Journey is perfect for him and I loved the way their love story ends.
One of the best representations of a tortured hero I’ve read! Cash McGraw was driven by his demons into booze and drugs. In the previous book, we read how he rejected his best friend Harley and the baby they made. He pushed her into Jackson’s arms and pushed himself into hell. He went into a downward spiral that only got relieved when Little Miss Thang appeared in his world.
I loved their story, from when Journey was a little baby that Cash used to babysit, to how she would dance to his music. Her gestures of mo’, mo’, mo’, requesting more songs so she could dance more were utterly charming. As she grew, she kept idolizing Cash and always requesting more music from him. When he broke away from his family and his home, he also broke away from her, but never forgot her. When she suddenly appeared in the festival where he was playing in Amsterdam, he immediately recognized his destiny and it was her.
I loved how he immediately got possessive over his Junie and how respectful he was of her innocence. He brought her into his world to journal the life of his rock band and kept her at arms length, while at the same time, striving to make her happy and be there for her. For her, he tried to go dry. He suffered the shakes until he couldn’t any more.
This book chronicles in a very painful way Cash’s demons and his addiction. It also chronicles how Journey stays with him during his final descent into hell and his ascent into recovery. It’s a very painful story about a guy who was broken by the rejection of his law officer father, who only saw things in black and white. All Cash ever wanted was for his father to see him, to accept him and to support him. His father was his hero and his hero rejected him. Being away from his family and his home for more than a decade was so detrimental to Cash’s psyche. Also being away from his best friend Harley whom he loved so much, and being absent from his daughter that Jackson is raising with Harley. There were too many injuries into Cash’s soul and it was just impossible for him to stay afloat.
This book is fraught with feelings and passion and suffering. It’s angst heaven and it made me cry. There is a point in the book where the hits just keep on coming and I didn’t know how Cash could take so much anguish. Beneath all the chaos, there is a man who just wanted to be heard, a man for whom music is life, and a man who just wants his family to love him and accept him. It’s very tender and heartfelt!
Even though the book ends in a wonderful HEA, it felt like I had gone through a car wreck and had a lot of bruises. It had all the feelings and the wonderful angst and the cheesy ending. And then, a little nibble to entice you to wait for the next book with an intriguing character, yum!
Til the Last Lyric is book 2 in the Life of Debauchery Series. Like all M. Robinson’s books I was darn glad the wait wasn’t long between books, after the ending I book 1 I really needed to know where the story went.
This book has the angst and emotion that all M. Robinson books contain. It draws at your heart strings, not once, but over and over again. Prepare yourself for highly possible tears.
Cash and Journey’s story also closes that of Jackson and Harley, answering a lot of the points that were left unsaid. I love how these books all interlink, in their own world.
Read the earlier books, before you start this Duet, you will get so much more from the story when you know what happened earlier.
Till the Last Lyric is the conclusion to Journey(Junie) and Cash’s story in the Life of Debauchery duet by M. Robinson.
Cash and June’s highly emotional, angsty, very dramatic, gritty, raw, at times dark, heartbreaking, passion and heat, tons of feels , get the Kleenex handy , forgiveness, healing, and amazing love – rollercoaster ride of emotions that is exhibited in book 2. Queen of Angst M. Robinson has done it again with another sensational story, another fabulous couple that you will root for (Cash and Junie) and the cast of secondary characters that add to the story. Add the chemistry, feels, twists, heartache and romance….Cash and Junie are *my soul couple* Don’t pass this duet by!!
My Rating: 4.8 stars *********
OMG…. I’m still trying to recover from what I just read. M knows how to make our hearts ache that is for sure. She is the queen of angst and no one will be able to touch her. This is the second book of the Life of Debauchery duet. You do need to read the first book to understand what is going on in this story. You are in for a wild ride! I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately and I could not stop. I read this incredible book all the way through the night.
Cash wants Journey to marry him and he will do anything to get what he wants. She is the one that is always by his side and he never wants to hurt her. Cash is trying to keep his demons away but they come back full force. The way he knows how to feel better is his drink so he drinks his troubles away. Journey finally realizes that he needs help that she can’t give him but will Cash take it? Will Cash and Journey get their happy ever after or will they destroy each other?
Cash and Journeys road has owned me since since the first book and all the bumps and plot twists along the way just kept hooking me deeper and deeper. Cash’s story since the beginning was so heartbreaking and Journey was just what needed to soothe the storm that is him even though he didn’t see it. So much angst had me devouring this story I didn’t know what would happen next
Standing Ovation! A show stopping conclusion to the Life of Debauchery duet. What a roller coaster ride of emotions, I’ve been left a blabbering mess, with red rimmed eyes and tear stained cheeks. This is a heartbreakingly beautiful story of redemption, Cash motherf#ckin’ McGraw has a wounded soul, is full of pride and feels everything. Shattering any thread remaining between his family and best friend years ago. He annihilated his own heart and numbs his mind and the pain with alcohol and drugs. However, the little girl he babysat comes into his life and tells him “it’s time” and takes him back home. Will this be his saving grace or will he retreat further into oblivion? Without a star struck little girl in Cash’s teenage years, his journey would of headed along a completely different path.
Intense angst unlike anything M. Robinson has given us before…she definitely outdid herself this time!
In the final book of this duet, Cash continues to battle his inner demons while Journey continues to fight for him, wanting to save him, hopefully without losing herself. Broken can’t even begin to describe the lives and feelings of not only Cash and Journey, but of those closest to them, and the most broken was Cash McGraw who was at the root of it all.
It’s was impossible not to become completely wrapped up in Cash and Journey’s story, crushing my heart right along with theirs. I’m not sure I’ve ever taken that many short breaks from reading a book, not because I didn’t want to keep reading, but because I needed to breathe…the agony radiating off the pages felt so real. The emotional hits just didn’t stop coming, and tears were definitely shed!
Their love was forbidden by many, their love was catastrophic most of the time, but their love was beautiful and worth all the pain to get to their epic happily ever after!
Journey has been in love with Cash since she was a little girl. When she gets a chance to find him again as an adult, will it be a good thing or a bad thing? Cash has been avoiding the pain of past but will seeing Journey change that? Can Journey get her love with Cash?
This is the 2nd book in this series, you will need to read book 1 beforehand, as book #2 starts where #1 leave off. This is a spin off of the Good Ol’ Boys series, the ‘kids’.
In this book, we continue the story with Cash & Journey “Junie”. Cash is 30 and Journey is 18. Journey has always loved Cash, even though they have quite a big age gap – 12 yrs his junior. Cash has always thought of Journey as his muse. Now that she’s with him on tour, she’s see’s him – an artist who has been struggling, with drugs and alcohol.
Will Journey be able to handle Cash if he gets out of control with drugs and alcohol? Will Cash be able to save himself from his own demise? Will Cash be able to hold onto Journey?
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
“Show me what love is.”
Deep breaths in and out… And Repeat.
My goodness M sure knows how to make a girl cry, how to break your heart, to fill you with Angst and surprise you all at the same time.
This story, I felt it in my soul. It was very well written as always. I was so emotionally attached to these characters. My heart hurt for them, I rooted for them, wanting everything to work out, knowing it wouldn’t be that easy.
Tissue nearby, I devor this read in one sitting. Teary eyed, I finished but I didn’t want to let go. I’m addicted, I’m in love with this duet.
I. Didn’t. Want. It. To. End.
It doesn’t matter how many times M breaks my heart, I keep coming back for more because she’s that amazing!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
This is book2 in the Life of Debauchery series. After the major cliffhanger in book 1 I couldn’t wait to see what direction this story was going to take.
Fast paced, and emotional story offered me a front and center seat into the tumultuous and complicated life of Cash and Journey. New revelations and righting wrongs made this story well worth reading.
**4.5 Stars**
M. Robinson ran away with my heart!!! The Queen of Angst has cast her arrows once more.
Because this is a the conclusion to a duet, I’m not going to go into much detail on what the novel is about. In order to not post spoilers, I try to avoid diving to deep into the storyline. Just know, it is a definite must to read From The First Verse before diving into ‘Til The Last Lyric!
It’s a rare occurrence to get through one of M. Robinson’s novels without shedding a tear or two. So rare in fact I have made it my mission to try to fight the tears. Let’s just say, I tried to fight the tears with all of my might… but in the end… the literal end… Monica won this battle. Oh did she ever win. The tears were ENDLESS! My heart was bruised throughout this novel, until the moment it was inevitably shredded into a million little pieces.
Journey and Cash’s conclusion brought all the angst to the surface. It focuses on the struggles that come with addiction and finding a way out before hitting the inevitable rock bottom.
All Cash wanted was to be noticed and loved by his father, he lived everyday trying to make him proud. And in the end it still wasn’t enough because in order to accept love from others you have to first learn how to love yourself. Journey made it her life’s mission to show Cash what love truly is. She made it her mission to bring him back to the light and show him its okay to leave the darkness behind. It’s okay to feel pain and sorrow. for feeling those emotions allows us to better feel love and joy.
Throughout ‘Til The Last Lyric, my heart broke for both Cash and Journey. This wasn’t an easy novel to get through emotionally. It took Cash reaching his rock bottom for him to see he had an issue and an addiction. And his rock bottom literally crushed my soul! I may not be an addict, but when you feel that soul crushing loss, you don’t bounce back from it easily. I can’t even begin to imagine how an addict in Cash’s position would feel during a time of tragedy such as this. So yeah, I cried a river of tear and i’m not ashamed to admit it. My heart is still broken even through the happily ever after.
The only reason I rated this a four and a half star instead of a full five star read was due to the fact that a few moments felt extremely fast paced and rushed through. But that ending made up for a lot! I ugly cried so damn hard!
Overall, ‘Til The Last Lyric was the perfect way to end Journey and Cash’s duet! If you’re looking for a duet with loads of angst and a happily ever after that will knock your socks off… you definitely need to 1 click this duet now!

This is book 2 of the life of debauchery duet! Make sure you read book 1 first ! This is the train wreck of a conclusion to Cash and Journeys romance. And what a ride it was!
“how the hell do you save someone who just wants to destroy himself? How do you fight for someone when all they want to do is give up? How do you not lose yourself when you’re trying to save someone else from their own lies?”
This was Journey’s learning curve!
“What once was a love story, turned into a tainted mockery. Hurting and killing her all at once. Little by little her devotion to her prince turned into resentment. Seeing the world through his eyes was nothing but ugliness disguised as success.”
Reading this book, I found myself there with her. Cash was a train wreck to everyone around him and most of all … to himself.
Through their story Robinson explores and describes alcoholism and addiction. How it can be all consuming and destroying.
Cash and journeys road is not pretty. There are moment of sweet , moments of strength and happiness but many moments of weakness , disaster and heartache.
What I always love about Monica’s stories is that she puts you through hell with all the angst but always always puts you back together for the ending .
Another great story by an awesomely talented author !
This was part 2 of the duet of Cash McGraw. This book simply gutted me. I cried and wasn’t sure if I was going to like the ending. I wasn’t expecting a lot of what happened on the book but it was profound and perfect. This book is a straight up masterpiece. I’m no stranger to M. Robinson’s work by my goodness the last few books have been on a whole nother level. This definitely reminded me of A Star is Born. My heart ached and I felt so much joy. A beautifully written book five stars!

Till the Last Lyric by M. Robinson the epic conclusion to the Life of Debauchery Duet and HOLY HELL it was EVERYTHING I expected it would be.
After finishing From the First Verse, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. I needed to know what was going to happen. Cash and Journey’s epic love story was one helluva emotional rollercoaster. As much as I want to shout about every little detail I loved, I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone. I will say if you thought FTFV was good- just you wait.
Cash is so broken. I truly didn’t think he was redeemable. But Ms. Robinson proved me wrong in so many ways. Days after finishing this book, I still can’t stop thinking about these characters. This story pulled at my heartstrings. It made me feel all the feels. All I can say is GO READ THIS BOOK! You will not be disappointed!
A lovely concluding part to yet another duet from M Robinson. Full of the angst and drama as we come to expect, but twists and turn on every page.
I really enjoyed Journey and Cash’s story. And the end of this book had me in bits! Emotional and heartbreaking.
There were a few parts in this part of the story that did feel a little slow in parts, and felt a little bit similar to book one. However things soon changed and I was shocked with another surprise.
Cash makes some decisions that made me rather dislike him, but at the same time love him and the way he loves and cares for Journey.
A wonderful rollercoaster of a ride!!
Johnny & June forever!!
She jonesed for him. He jonesed for whiskey. Both burned and ached, and left you at their mercy.”
Heart-Pumping. Mind-Racing. Gut-Wrenching.
I cried. I cried exactly THREE times. It takes a lot for me to cry while reading and this book did it. It broke me and pieced me back together. It yanked my heart out, tore it apart, and then stitched it back together.
I found Monica last year in the Choosing You/Us duet. Ever since then, I’ve been an addict for her words. I love this world she has created. The characters are each extremely different but twined together through blood and family.
Journey and Cash have a connection that was written in the stars. They were born to be together. They were made for each other. Their love is powerful and intense, a tad forbidden but beautiful all the same.
Cash lives the rock star life and Journey just wants Cash. Their pasts come to haunt them. Their future is unknown. Their present is trying.
This story really packed a punch. Monica killed it with Cash and Journey. I can’t wait to see what she brings next.
“I think I’ve known since I was a little girl that you’re my once upon a time.” “I wanna be you’re happily ever after.”
