*Hands you a box of tissue*
Anddd then…. I am going to tell you “you are going to need this box while reading!!!”
I finished reading several days ago and I am still having all the feels several days later.
Till The Last Lyric is book 2 in the Life of Debauchery duo. I absolutely loved this book. Did not want to put it down until I finished!!!
I also want to say each book M. Robinson writes is always my favorite until the next book is released, and y’all this one really stole my HEART. I freaking loved it…Robinson’s best duo to date!!! Don’t miss this read…goooo one click on release day, you will not be disappointed!!!
“Till the last lyric “ is the 2nd book of Cash Mcgraw and Journey Peirce. We already met them in love hurts duet and first saw them in the pierced hearts duet. This book was full of drama and angst and I absolutely loved it. I had been waiting for this book to release for god know how long and the wait was totally worth it. But still, man I am sooooooo sad that this series is over.In the story we get to know more about Cash and how his life turned out after he left his home. After reading the love hurts duet , I sure had a lot of doubts about Cash’s character and why he took some decisions he did. Honestly speaking I never even expected him to get his own series. But at the end of the love hurts duet when I got to know that he was getting a duet was himself, am I was excited .
We all had a lot of questions regarding cash from the love hurts duet, and let me tell you , none of your questions will be left unanswered because M.Robinson has done a damn good job of clearing our doubts. I was totally satisfied with the explanations given in this book.
Every relationship in the book, let It be of cash and journey, cash and his father and also cash and Harley , has been such an emotional ride . mine favorite was of Dylan and cash.I always thought why Dylan was so unsupportive of cash that he drew him to leave their house, but after reading these series I totally got his reasons. There was some scenes of cash and Dylan that literally had me blinking back tears. They both were so stubborn it was infuriating at times. We all remember Dylan from his young times, well it was like 2 Dylans arguing.
The relationship of cash and journey was also really sweet. The string scenes of baby journey had me laughing and smiling so hard. God they were so cute!!!! Journey goes to meet cash and somehow convinces him to come home again , and from that point things go downhill. But they made of it alive and the ride was totally worth the pain and hurt.
I would recommend this to anyone loving a good drama filled ride with an asshole Rockstar and a sweet girl from his childhood. This book is totally worth the read.
such a GREAT job the author has done.
“Digging in deeper and deeper. Inch by inch. I crumbled underneath him, and he wasn’t even kissing me.”
Beautiful, broken Cash stole my heart, and the bittersweet emotional pangs of the past kept him from tearing free until a part of his past came bursting forth, opening doors, and forcing him to face his demons once and for all. A raw and gritty look at addiction, family dysfunction, and righting wrongs where I laughed, I cried like a baby, swooned like crazy, and re-read the steamiest scene involving a tenacious young girl’s bucket list that I’ve read in a very long time. It was tortuous to my heart, but balm to my soul, and in the end I was able to smile through my tears, as my jaw dropped as to what might be next from this Author, and I’m SO ready!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!
“She was in my soul, and it was a hole I never wanted to climb out of.”

Wow! I’ve said it before and I will say it again M. Robinson has blown me away yet again! There are no words to describe the pain and love in this beautiful melod of a book. Cash and Journey born soul mates with a love that kept them together while apart. Once together the connection helped him find himself.
Losing yourself to self loathing and doubt brought him to the brink of destruction. Falling through the rabbit whole as he calls it was his way coping with loss and bad decisions. The light for him was the shinning becon of Junie.
Both fighting to find their way through the connections that bind them, family and love.
This book continues right where book one leaves off so it is seamless. We get revelations, heart ache and surprises that will blow you mind.
Jackson and his temper and heart are their right along with Cash both fighting to protect the girls they love. Perfection.
5 soul wrenching stars!! Damn this author!! She is one of the few that can have me crying like a baby. I full out cried ugly tears from 84% to the end of the book. I would put it down to wipe my tears and get ahold of myself thinking that was the worst of it to be hit all over again. Don’t get me wrong, the entire book was an emotional roller coaster but I have never continually cried that long in a book… good and bad tears.
So this is the conclusion to Journey and Cash’s story. It is book two of the “Life Of Debauchery” duet. Of course, you see the other characters from the family and other Oak Island families too. Let me just say the very last page also has a nice surprise!!
The first book was crazy and emotional. I thought “how the hell can she top this?!”. Well, ladies and gents, she outdid herself. This author is able to make you smile, laugh, throw your kindle, cry uncontrollably, fan yourself, swoon and ache all in one book. Hell even one good chapter.
Cash is a story in himself. So many hurdles and so much pain. You get so angry at his choices and then it happens. You break for the man. And who is always standing behind the man to catch him fall?!!! Journey. She is the definition of strength. We all know Journey has a story of her own but she embraced it. She was scared. She was loved. And she took all she was and gave it to Cash!!
This book has triggers. It has addiction. It has pain and sorrow. I guess I haven’t seen this side of addiction and it was welcomed. I appreciate it.
Every book I read I fall more in love with these characters. This author. This town. If you have yet to read every single book this author has wrote please do so now!!
When you open this book please be ready to be owned. For your heart to ache. For tears to shed. Be ready to want to call your loved ones. This is a MUST read! I am putting this book in the top 5 books of a life time!!!
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
You will need multiple boxes of tissues to even begin to read this book. Be prepared for your heart to be viciously ripped from your chest about 30% into this book and really never put fully back together. Cash is drowning in his demons and Journey is desperately trying to keep him above water only to be pulled down with him. This book has all of the emotions you would expect from an M Robinson book and then some. I had to stop multiple times through this book just to pull myself together and let my tears subside. This book is in my top 3 favorite reads of 2020.
What a Journey this story takes!!! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
From the first verse to the last lyric you not want to miss this conclusion. Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
I could not wait for this book to come out and it did not disappoint. I knew that this book would have all the emotions that M. Robinson puts into all her books and this one was what you would expect with all the emotions. The ending of the first book what not what you expected it to be and it just got better from there. The emotions throughout this book we just unbelievable. I had so many tears of all kinds, happy, sad and OMG! At parts I was like what is she doing to the characters is she really going to not let them have their happily ever after. How much heartache can one couple take? There is a scene that you will have to read I thought the worse and was like NO!!!! What I can say is Journey is truly a strong women who loves fiercely and has my heart. Cash is everything you expect and then some. You must read this book to see what happens!!!
M. Robinson I do not know how you will ever top this couple!!!! This book left me in a book hangover of the best kind!!!!
5 OMG Stars!
I was blown away by this duet, it was emotional, heart wrenching, sexy and so powerful! M. Robinson has become one of my favorite authors!
Till the Last Lyric continues the story of Cash McGraw where From the First Verse ended, so you must read these books in order. I now wish I had found the time to read The Pierced Hearts duet whilst I waited for this second book to be released as I felt that that may have helped to gain a greater understanding of the characters and history surrounding them. Saying that, I certainly saw the connection between Cash and Journey and this is their story.
At the end of the first book I wanted to see if Journey could change Cash’s ways and M. Robinson gave us quite the story showing this. When you have as much emotional baggage as Cash does, it has got to be very hard to see things in a different light and address issues, even with love and support. I hated witnessing Cash’s choices. I loved seeing just how strong Journey is and the love that she has for Cash. It must be so hard to cope with everything and live within the public eye. I hoped that he could save himself. Whether he does or not, you will have to read this story to find out.
I felt I missed out on many emotions that this story would usually bring out in me and I do feel that failing to read the other duet has something to do with this. I must have a heart of ice, although it most certainly did thaw in the final chapters of this book, which were very emotional scenes.
I loved that this story is told giving us both Cash’s and Journey’s POVs. I absolutely loved being back with some of the Good Ol’ Boys. I will definitely go back and read The Pierced Hearts duet. I do know that there is more to come from this author that will give us the story of a related character to this series and I am really looking forward to this.
ARC received for an honest review
I have been reading M. Robinson since her very first release. Every time I receive a new book, I tell myself “this time she won’t rip my heart to shreds.”
And I was doing really well and then BAM – my heart hit the floor, just in time for her to stomp on it… again.
Cash and Journey’s story is not an easy one to read. If you have read her Good Ol’ Boys series, I felt this story was most like Austin and Briggs story.
I had a love/hate relationship with Cash. He was such a douche most of the time and I wanted to hate him for his actions, but my heart hurt for him as much as he was hurting in himself.
I don’t want to give anything away about this tale, as I feel that you need to go in a little blind (I mean, you have to have read the first book, so not totally blind) and feel the raw, gritty, heartbreaking emotions.
And yes, Ms Robinson did get my tears, and I am sure she could hear me cussing her out from the opposite side of the world.
I hurt, I cried and hurled my Kindle across the room in frustration. And I loved every second of it.
Now I am waiting impatiently to have my heart destroyed again.
This book!!! GAH!!! M. Robinson, I bow at the alter of your greatness!!!!! This book was MAGNIFICENT!!!! It will be a VERY long book hangover, and I’m excited about it!!!!!
I don’t even know how to put into words how this book made me feel. I felt it all! Monica is an evil genius! She knows how to shatter your heart and put it back together perfectly! Cash Mcgraw is everything! He stole my heart! Journey and Cash’s story is one I will not forget! Perfect ending to an amazing love story! Monica is Brilliant! I can’t wait for her next book!
This is the conclusion of Cash and Journey’s story. This book picks up right where the last book ended so you miss nothing. From the start to finish you feel all the emotions and the angst Monica delivers!
We don’t call her the Queen of Angst for nothing! She delivers it all to you as she breaks your heart right along with her characters. You get all the angst she can give you. But she always fixes your heart in the end but you are on one hell of a ride getting there. That’s why she is the Queen of Angst and she don’t let you forget it!
This book is everything and she got me loving Cash McGraw more then I ever thought I could. You will not be disappointed of this conclusion of Cash and Journey. Just know, have the tissues ready bc she is out for your tears! She got mine. I bow down to the Queen of Angst! I can’t wait for her next book to come!
Another fantastic book by our Queen of Angst
Before I begin let me just start by saying that this is the second book in the Life of Debauchery duet, if you haven’t read From the First Verse walk away now and come back when you get your life together.
Ok now that that was said lets get down to it…
M Robinson the evil genius that she is out to kill her readers with this one. There was moments that I didn’t know if my “I don’t cry while reading” self was going to make it. I thought that there wasn’t that much that Robinson could throw at me to make me break. I should have known better. I really should have known fucking better.
My emotions were going thru complete torture with this read. I was all over the place going from “oh they are happy I love this” to ” Oh Fuck No that asshole” then all the way to ” What the fuck!! Oh no Robinson better not fucking to this to me”. I actually had to ask myself why I always come back for more heartache when it comes to Cash “Mother-Fuckin” McGraw. Then I would remember that I am just a sucker for the pain that Robinson loves to put me thru.
Journey and Cash’s book had everything and more than what I could of ever expected Robinson to give me…
1. a Lovable Asshole that you just can’t help but want
2. a strong female that you want to stand by
3. angst to the 10th degree
4. moments that you couldn’t see coming
5. a love story that will you can’t help but get emotionally invested in
6. did I say off the charts angst
7. throw your kindle moments
8. plotting the characters death moments
9. wanting to put the author in time out moments
and
10. a story that you just can’t let go of after reading THE END
When I finished the first book in this duet I was already saying that Robinson had stepped up her game. Now that I have finished the second book in this duet I am yet again saying that Robinson has stepped up her game and now has set the bar for angst in her future books. The next thing I know she is going to be the first author to make me cry. (And if this happens I will be hunting her down.)
I was one of those people that didn’t think that Cash was ever going to redeem himself for me after reading the Love Hurts Duet. Then came his duet and my view changed. I was showed a boy that was looking to live his dream and be excepted. Then he turned into a man that was only existing, even after he got the life that he thought he wanted. Finally in the conclusion to this love song you are able to get Cash going thru the dark to get to the light that is Journey.
This was a love story that hurt to read, and yet it was also one that had me so engrossed that I was at the end before I knew it. My heart was racing and hurting the entire time till I got those last words. I can say that these characters are going to be ones that will be staying with me well after the closing of the book. I don’t know what really goes thru that head of Robinson’s but I just hope that it never stops.
This book made me really sad for cash because he was going through so much pain but he never wanted anyone to help him but I love that journey was always there for him even when he didn’t want her there and I really loved her for it and hated her for it because sometimes he really hurt her and I hated that so much but I really love this series and I can’t wait tell the next book.
‘Til The Last Lyric is the best book Monica’s ever written. It is a poetic masterpiece that crushed my heart and now Cash McGraw owns my soul. M weaved an epic journey that will blow your mind. I didn’t even want her to give Cash a book I hated him so much. Well I was so wrong because Cash sang to my soul in a way I’ll never forget. This story devastated me and filled me with so much hope that it stole my breath more than once. I couldn’t even contain my emotions or control my tears. This book is a destructive, beautiful, all consuming stunning ride that you will want to get off of and at the same time wish would never end!
Tracey, Life Reads With Friends
What a Journey!! (No pun intended) Cash and Journey continue their rocky relationship in part two of the “life debauchery duet.” With the surprise cliffhanger in book one we follow Cash McGraw through his rise to rocker fame, his feelings for Journey “Junie” Pierce and all that he has been through in between. He is his own worst enemy at times with all that he does to himself. Can he ever truly be redeemed or is Junie to late to save him from himself? Drugs, Rock&Roll, and Self loathing is what Cash has made of his life. Can he finally make amends with the past and be better…for her…for himself? This takes place when Cash is 30 yrs old and Journey is 18 yrs old. This is an emotional roller coaster with all the feels. A beautifully told story of passion, self reflection and healing! Have your tissues ready, you’ll need them! True love that you feel deep within your soul is what these two have. Loved it!! Told in dual POV
And yes…reading book 2 made it all worth it. Some nice twists at about 80% started to tie things together for me and I looked over at my husband and said…THAT’s what I needed. I’ll need to go back and start at the beginning at some point because some of these characters are definitely interesting and intriguing!
If you have read my review for From the First Verse you know I had my issues with it and you also know that I absolutely LOVE Johnny Cash and June Carter (the real people). With that being said there was one part of the ending especially that bothered me soooo much!!!
This story was sweet and I do feel like this was just the end of book one. Not really two books to me but more one book that was split in half. Cash really did come a long way from the person he was to the person he became. I did enjoy all the quotes and lyrics by musicians at the start of each chapter. It was like a little tell of what was to come and it made the angst that much stronger to me. At the end of the day I did love Cash and Junie’s story it was rough, heartbreaking, and absolutely touching.
‘Til The Last Lyric
The Life of Debauchery Duet, Book 2
By: M. Robinson
Narrated by: Marcio Catalano, Addison Barnes, Troy Duran
Picking up where book 1 ends, we get to follow Cash and Journey on their turbulent road. M Robinson has woven an emotional story and each time I thought I knew what would happen, she threw another curve into it. Journey is the kind of woman you want in your corner. Mature for her age, with her own secrets, she is the calming force. Cash is so complex, not your run of the mill rock star and each layer shows another damaged piece that has led to his addiction and need to distance himself. It’s raw and gritty, with hitting rock bottom and the courage to climb up. I loved the story, the characters, the music, the journals, the passion and healing. It’s a fantastic duet in true M. Robinson style.
The duet continues its fantastic narration by Marcio Catalano, Addison Barnes, Troy Duran. A better cast could not have been chosen for this performance. Catalano peeled each layer of Cash, adding the so many emotional nuances. I could feel his frustration and depression, and then turn to passion and healing. Barnes becomes Journey, her voice having that sound of comfort and help, and at times pain and frustration. Together these two held my heart in their performance. Add in the band with the sound of Troy Duran, and it’s pure perfection.
