My husband is not the man I married. The man I remembered loving was, warm, kind, sensual. This man is cold, distant and cruel. The doctors say he’ll get better and I want to believe them. But I’m losing faith with every hate-filled word past his lips.I miss the man I married. I miss the woman I was.Until I’m hit by a blue-eyed storm and now my life is shattered. When I lock eyes with the sexy … the sexy stranger at the bar, he makes me remember the carefree woman I was. Lost after that single night of passion, I thought it couldn’t get worse. I was wrong.
Torn between the vows I promised to a man who is cruel and remote and the all-consuming lust for a stranger I can never have, I walk the tightrope between desire and duty and hope that I don’t fall and destroy us all.

Great read
I loved this romance, totally engrossing read from the very first page.
Lexi’s marriage to Dean is on the rocks, she’s desperate to have a baby, Dean tells her to go out and find ‘a sperm donor’ what she didn’t anticipate was Hunter walking into her life.
Loved the twist at the end, can’t wait to read the second book in this series.
“God will only give you what you can handle, or so they say! If that was the case, God in all his infinite wisdom ust have thought I was a complete bad@@. That, or he had a pi@@ poor sense of humor.”
Tightrope is book one of Maddie Wade’s new Tightrope series. I must say I am so bummed to find out this is the only one out yet because I am dying to know more of this story. I love the way that Wade weaves this story that is something many women can relate to and connect with. It engages the reader and makes you want to keep reading on and on. Wade has a way with words, she flows them together like a sonnet or poem of sorts and produces sentences with depth as such;
“I will find you I declare to the dark night, a vow to the universe. I look at the moon and wonder if we are looking at the same thing right at this moment, I hope we are.”
Lexi never thought she would be where she is at this point in life. Her husband is a man that pays no attention to her, and she has no connection with him. The distance between the two is eating away at her soul and then walks in a man that makes her feel these feelings she has been missing in her life. Will she chose to follow her feelings or stay faithful to the man she is married to? Her roller coaster ride of emotions throughout this novel will have you wanting to cry for her one minute and throw ice cubes at her the next. I loved reading all of them though! I can’t wait to find out what comes next. Let’s just hope it is soon!!
Tightrope: Tightrope Book 1 by Maddie Wade is the first book in her Tightrope series. This is a contemporary romance story that is really hard to stop even though you need a break at times. This story really hit me because I have battled with losing interest and then losing trust and belief that my husband even is still in the marriage. This story followed our main characters who have been married for so long and they begin to drift apart. The wife is losing faith in her husbands love for her and both begin to process possible scenarios to save the marriage or let it go. Very beautifully written.

I think ive finally calmed down enough to make a somewhat cohesive sentence or 2!
Omg this book had me from the beginning, Lexi and Dean are college sweethearts, been married for a few years and through all of this, dean had health issues and they’ve shifted to patient and caregiver. After some hurtful words, Lexi takes her husbands advice and meets a man at the bar.
I cant say anymore or ill go off on a tangent and ruin the whole book. This is a must read but if you cant wait to resolve a cliffhanger, wait until book 2 is out as i feel like I was sucker punched with that ending!
Tightrope (Tightrope Book 1) by Maddie Wade left me speechless and so flustered that I had to leave my home just to process what the hell just happened.
If I had been reading this as a paperback, that paperback would have went flying off my balcony. Why, well, it ended in the gut kick cliffhanger, after doing a 180 plot twist turn. I mean, it was out of left field, and I left me muttering, WTF, WTF, WTF… It took me a while to calm down, and then it took me hours before I felt I was ready and sane enough, to post a review without wanting to slap something.
Lets start with the easy, non, blindsiding cold-cocked to the head.
This short, heart ripping read, was told in dual POV. I like getting a bit of each character, and it’s also the reason for the sudden, dark turn this book takes. Nothing, there were no clues!!! {deep breath}. I like the voice of the MC, and I very much enjoyed the high energy of her best friend. Though I would have liked to have gotten to knew her a tiny bit better, as she does become a key player and support for Lexi. I liked how raw the emotions were and, how this story touches on how things can suddenly change, baste on what life throws at you and, how not everything appears as they seem.
People will only tell you what they want, make you see what they want, control what they can, to make a perfect set of rose coloured glasses, so when they break, everything becomes that much more shocking and heart ripping. The first words of the book sums that up perfectly, and they have such a deeper and darker meaning now that I have read the book.
“God will only give you what you can handle, or so they say! If that was the case, God in all his infinite wisdom must have thought I was a complete badass. That, or he had a piss poor sense of humour.”
If you want to know why and how this book has ruined me, and tore out my rib caged and used it as a hat, then I highly suggest you take my extremely high recommendation and read this book. Just be warned that after reading you will be in complete and utter shock, that will cause you to swear, mutter incoherently, and send you into a fit of internet searches trying to find info on the next book.
It’s coming in July, and I need it to be July yesterday!
Happy Reading.

Let me first start off by saying, When Maddie Wade said Tightrope ended in a cliffhanger, she was NOT JOKING! The book follows Lexi’s life as she realizes her marriage is crumbling, and she has turned into more of a caretaker than a lover. She and Dean had a relationship you see in movies or read about, love at first sight, marrying your best friend. But after Dean suffers a stroke, he becomes a different man, and not one Lexi can recognize anymore. It has put so much strain on their marriage, and may have brought it to the breaking point. Lexi is walking a tightrope to try to find herself, and find a balance to her life.
This is the first book I have read by Maddie Wade, but I loved it and am anxiously awaiting part 2 to be released next month. I love her writing style, the book kept me hooked, and kept me guessing. For a while there I thought it was going a 50 Shades direction, with an ordinary girl falling for the millionaire, but it didn’t, to my relief. The book went deeper, I was shocked by the way things unfolded. The characters relationships were interesting, and I liked seeing how things were all linked together. I wont give any spoilers, but I highly recommend the book, its a real page turner.
a great read about the unexpected. Dean and Lexi’s marriage has been on the rocks for a while. when he suggests she find someone else, she is angry at first. but when she meets an attractive man in a bar, everything changes. as one night unravels consequences for everyone, will Lexi be able to save her marriage or will it all fall apart?
a great read. well developed plot with twists and turns. well developed characters like Lexi standing up for herself while struggling with her feelings or Mac as a jovial exterior but caring nature underneath. Or cherry as a sweet and supportive friend. the use of colour contrasts between friends was brillaintly done to show how they balance each other out
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like the drawings and colours and the inside of the shop. the vivid blues used were beautifully written and added vibrance to the characters. or the attention to detail in the drawongs or small items like wedding rings. the simple setting of home and a shop in a small town was perfect and helped create the homely family drama of the novel
the use of texts and emails in the narrative as conversation was a unsual choice but it was perfectly written . the flashbacks worked well to show how everything changed but sometimes distracted from the narrative of the present. the only other issue I would raise is that there is a lot of breaking the fourth wall talking to the audience by the characters which was not needed. overall,.a fun read and I would give it four stars
It’s always refreshing to come across a new author with a way of making words work. In this case, Tightrope by Maddie Wade was a definite eye opener as for a new author.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with this author’s writing style.
We get to meet Lexi, a young woman who is married – but unhappy; this wasn’t always the case. They use to have a good marriage, until Dean suffered a stroke and made him a complete stranger. She struggles with her life, marriage and everything in general. That is until an unexpected individual makes an appearance.
Lexi has to make some very hard decisions that will affect her for the rest of life. But how do you move on, knowing if you’ve made the right choice. The emotions that this book evoked from me were several. I felt the characters, their journey, their trials and tribulations. I enjoyed the book even though I felt like my heart was breaking several times. This was definitely an interesting experience for me. A definite 4 Star Book for me.
Tightrope by Maddie Wade is Book 1 in the series. It’s about a woman who married her high school sweetheart. Her relationship takes a downward spiral after her husband suffers a severe heart attack and she becomes more his caregiver and less his wife. As she learns he is no longer the man she married, things escalate from bad to worst. Not only is she forced to make some serious decisions about her marriage and the direction her life is headed, she is also juggling to understand how she could be attracted to another man even though she’s estranged from her husband. This book had me laughing, crying, and on the edge of my seat in suspense! There were twists and turns i hadn’t expected, and I absolutely cannot wait to read book 2! 5 out of 5 stars!

Tightrope is Book one in this series written by Maddie Wade and this is the first book that I have read by this author. This is a book about betrayal, love, and losing one self and finding one self and moving forward. The characters are amazing and the plot is twisted but in a good way.
Lexi aka Blue is married to a man that is not her husband. The man she remembered loving was, warm, kind, sensual. This man is cold, distant and cruel. The doctors say he’ll get better and she want to believe them. But she is losing faith with every hate filled word past his lips. Lexi miss’s the man she married and she miss’s the woman she was.
Until she is hit by a blue-eyed storm and now her life is shattered. When she locked eyes with the sexy stranger at the bar, he makes her remember the carefree woman she used to be. Lost after that single night of passion, she thought it couldn’t get worse she was wrong.
She is torn between the vows she promised to a man who is cruel and remote and the all-consuming lust for a stranger she can never have, or could she? She is walking a tightrope between desire and duty and she hopes that she don’t fall and destroy all of them.
I highly recommend this book but it does end in a major cliff hanger. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Wade has in-stored for us and I hope we don’t have to wait too long to see what happens next.

Steaming HOT! Oh so sexy, all you will say is HELL YEAH!
I have truly enjoyed Maddie Wade’s Fortis Security series so when this was released it was a no-brainer as far as wanting to read. She has been that go to the author, the one you know you will want to read anything they put out just because they wrote it and it is almost guaranteed that it will be a good read.
I am not a cliffhanger kind of girl, but because it was written by her I gave it a go. So very glad that I did. I might have been hesitant about starting it but let me tell you I devoured it. I read the entire book from beginning to end. Once you start you just don’t want to stop. Every turn of the page is an I must see what happens next moment. I felt a variety of emotions while reading this, one moment I’m like “are you serious,” then it was “you’ve got to be kidding me.” Next was “Hell Yeah.” Maddie did a great job writing the characters and what they were feeling. The plot twists were very dramatic and intriguing all the way through.
Personally, I wanted to throw my kindle at the end, because seriously how could she leave us hanging like that, but that would be the draw of a cliffhanger and she did very WELL. I can’t wait to read book two to see what happens next. Happy Reading!
5 Stars
Tightrope by Maddie Wade is a brilliant story that had me hooked right from the beginning. This is one of those books that has so much more happening in it than you expect. This is a clever, complex story that has surprising developments that you don’t see coming, but will keep you flipping the pages to find out what is going on. I have loved Ms. Wade’s Fortis Security series, so I was excited to find that this new story was out, and I had a lot of expectation for what I would find when I began reading. This is a story that I recommend going into ‘blind’- and let the author take you on a surprising and captivating journey. The story does end in a cliff-hanger and is set to continue in the next book- which I can’t wait to get my hands on!
Well done!
Thank you, Ms. Wade!
Tightrope by Maddie Wade was rollercoaster of a first book for me. This book will leave you screaming at your kindle because you can’t believe the way it ended and are in need of the next book. There were so many twists that I had to re-read a few chapters just to make sure I was reading things right. Your emotions will be all over the place; you will feel sorry for someone then by the end you will want to punch that person. I am not going to give anything away; I will just say that I couldn’t put this book down If you’re looking for a book that will suck you in and have you begging for more; highly recommend that you read this book.
Tightrope is book one in the Tightrope series by Maddie Wade. It is book one in a duet and does end in a cliffhanger. But please don’t let that stop you from reading this incredibly emotional and suspenseful story. Nothing is quite as it seems from the very start, but predicting exactly what would transpire was impossible. What did transpire will blow a reader’s mind and leave them reeling. It certainly did that to me.
This story captured my entire attention, knocked the breath out of me, and stunned me with the stunning way in was written. This author embodies brilliance. I have not been able to immerse myself in a book so totally for a while now, but I had no problem with Tightrope. I did have trouble tearing myself away from the book. I had to finish it in one session. The storyline was complex and dramatic, especially with the cliffhanger ending. The characters were developed and varied in personality. I just absolutely enjoyed this fantastic story. 5 stars.

I absolutely love Maddie Wade’s books, all of the ones that I have read have been well written and this one was no exception! I loved Tightrope! I knew as soon as I started reading this book I knew that I was going to love it. The story just flowed so well and I adored the characters.
This was a beautiful contemporary romance that explores a situation that I don’t think I could actually deal with. I found myself really feeling for Lexi, I really, really did. I can’t even imagine how she must feel. One minute I wanted her to do one thing and then the next I wanted her to do something else!
I had mixed feelings about Dean in the beginning, but the further on I read those feelings definitely changed!
I loved all of the twists and turns but I was not prepared for that ending! I am eagerly awaiting book 2 in the series so that I can see what happens next!!
Tightrope- Maddie Wade
5-star review
Tightrope by Maddie Wade is a phenomenal read! This is by far my favorite from this author! From the very start I was completely captivated, I was so into this story that it was easy for me to forget about the real world. I loved how well the story flowed, with some past and present moments that helped me get the full picture. I found these characters so easy to connect with that by the time I finished I felt lost as I could have read this story forever!
Maddie took me on such an emotional roller coaster ride with this story. It was surprising, heartbreaking, real, honest and so powerful. Just when I thought I had everything all figured out I was thrown for a loop and totally shocked. This ending left me so full of emotion and I honestly can’t wait to read book 2 once released to get all of the answers to my questions. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next read!

Tightrope Book 1

Romance with a twist, is what you will find in this novel. Warning this book ends in a cliffhanger.
Lexi is a married woman. She is married to a man that she once loved. But since his stroke he has become just mean. She has taken care of him for years. Too many years for that matter. She is now more of a caregiver then a wife. When pushed past her limit, she goes out with a friend. Out for a girls night out. Until?
Hunter is an overworked boss and he loves it. He is good looking and knows it. Never wanting a commitment, he has plenty of one night stands. Close to his family, his mama really wants him to settle down and raise a family. This is not what he wants. Until?
Maddie Wade has written a fast paced romance story. This story is full of twists and turns. Suspense like nothing I have ever read before. You are hooked on page one and the story goes none stop until the last page. I was so drawn into Lexi’s story. All of my emotions were stripped raw, with this story. I can’t wait to see how this story turns out.

The story Tightrope: Tightrope Book 1 by Maddie Wade is a contemporary romance book. It is a story about a woman who finds herself with a husband that she doesn’t know anymore and an intense attraction to a man that she meets one night. In that one meeting, she begins to feel what has been missing in her life for a long time. She has a decision to make. Stay with the man who has become cold and distant or pursue the man that has awakened desires and in one night made her feel alive again. What will she choose? This is a well-written story which is easy to read. I found myself lost in the book and not wanting to put it down until I had finished the final page. I loved reading about the main character and wanted her to find happiness in life. She is a woman who is proud of what she has accomplished however finds herself in a situation that causes her to sometimes feel guilt and doubts. This story that had my emotions going up and down when reading. It also includes some very steamy scenes that will have you reaching for a cold glass of ice water. There is a twist to the story that I was next expecting. This is the second book I have read by the author. It is the first book in a series and I can’t wait to read the next one to find out where the author takes the storyline and the characters.
Tightrope: Tightrope Book 1 by Maddie Wade is the first book in her Tightrope series. This is a contemporary romance story that you won’t be able to put down. This is not my first book by this author, it has just become my favorite. One of the things I love most about this author is how she is creative with her characters in each of her books and they all be so different but yet relatable and lovable. They pull me in to their story with ease and keep me wanting more. This book is no different. This book is about a woman who is slowing losing faith in her marriage. It has not helped that her husband wants nothing to do with her emotionally. He is not the same and neither is she. Then one night changed everything for her, one blue eyed man who will turn her life upside down. She is torn between being the woman who is married and the woman this blue eyed man makes her want to be. I loved the characters in this book with the exception of one character. Their story has just a little of everything in it that just keeps you reading until the end. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that has twists and turns that you just won’t be able to put down. I highly recommend this book. Find out what happens when one woman knows who she wants to be with him but connected to another she has loved for years.
