Contemporary Romance: In this short story we meet Emily, a ballerina about to face the last stage of his professional career, and a gym owner whose name I can’t remember even though I read it a couple of days ago. But the ballet dancer doesn’t want to get distracted with love/sex relationship and, let’s say, Gavin’s (I opened the book to find the name) hunkiness is a pretty big distraction. But he promises he can wait. What are a bunch of months in the way of true love? Answer: nothing at all. Nothing for the reader, I mean.
Love?: This story doesn’t start too bad: cute meeting in a gym full of sweaty strong male meat, a nice first date and the drama plot about the no-dating rule while working. That is when the 10 months countdown begins! I was eager to read the troubles they face during that period of time. Were they going to be able to resist their urges? Would they spare a kiss or two in the shadows? I mean… love had to develop somehow, right? But, nope. Almost no contact. Not even a phone call or an e-mail. Sadly, that doesn’t stop the author from feeding us the most purest of love relationships after 10 months of silence. Yeah… not buying it.
A waste of characters, if you ask me.
So cute! I loved this romance. It was sweet with the perfect amount of steam.
All of the stories in this Makes My Heart Race series are all short and mostly insta-love romances.
If you need to fill an afternoon with some lighthearted, quick, and super sexy romance stories, this series would be the one to hit the spot.
I really wanted to like this one more than I did.
Emily is a professional ballerina who is doing her last season. Due to an injury and her age she’s retiring before she causes permanent damage.
Gavin is a gym owner who happens to meet the curvy ballerina during one of her workouts.
I don’t know about others, but I just can’t understand why Emily was so determined to not date during her last season. She said she didn’t want the distractions, but I would think that with the way the author tried to portray their chemistry, being separated would’ve been more of a distraction. When it comes to novellas like these and when authors try to stretch out a romance over a longer time period it doesn’t really work for me.
I enjoyed this story with Gavin and Emily. He’s a gym owner and she’s a ballerina. I love the connection they both felt from the start. Her dedication to being a ballerina and that plays with their lives. It’s a great, quick read with sparks, heart melting moments and sweetness.
A beautiful story about a ballet dancer and all the sacrifices she had to do to get her dream and later maintain it and the man who fell in love with her. Sweet short and easy to read.

This was a good fast novella. Gavin and Emily were well written characters that worked great together. Their connection and chemistry was strong, it was sexy and sweet. She is a determined to hold off on love until the last 10 months of her career as a ballerina ends. He is willing to wait. There are a few times when he came off a bit strong, but I would read more of this series.

Dancing her way into his heart
Tight Buns by Kate Hunt is the fourth book in the Makes My Heart Race series with each book by a different author. This is the story of Emily and Gavin. She is a professional ballerina who is about to start her last years of dancing. She had suffered an injury the previous dance season and after rehab was told if she continued to dance as hard as required she would do permanent damage. So this year she is concentrating only on dancing and enjoying everything about being with the ballet company and performing. Gavin owns a local gym that Emily and her best friend and fellow dancer, Jessa, go to when their usual gym closes for some renovations. It is their first day at the gym, using a week long guest pass, with Jessa checking out the new scenery and trying to get Em to do the same thing. There is only one man that catches Em’s eye. Gavin spots the two new ladies in his gym and one really shines for him. There is an immediate attraction and pull between them.
By the end of the week Gavin finally asks her out on a date which Jessa accepts for Em, but Em also agrees to. They have a wonderful day, having lunch and then walking around and ending up on a “city tour”. When Gavin takes Em back home he asks her out again but Em declines explaining about the amount of time and concentration she needs for this last ballet season. Gavin is disappointed but he accepts her decision. But will that be the end for them or will they be able to come together?
This is a charming and fun story which is slightly dirty and sexy. Both Gavin and Emily are great characters but also the supporting characters are nicely written and help move the story along. The bonus epilogue melted my heart also.
Kate Hunt has fast become one of my must read authors and this book only reinforces that. She has a way of grabbing you at the beginning of her books and doesn’t let you go till the end. With our crazy lives and world today it’s such a pleasure to be able to sit down and read a short story that lets you escape the craziness but also leaves you feeling so good after you finish reading. This is a fantastic addition to a fantastic series. Gavin and Emily’s story is a romantic one of sacrifice and knowing that if you are patient that you will get your happily ever after. This book has everything that you could want; comedy, drama and of course hot romance. You will be sorry if you miss this delightful gem of a book.

I liked this story a lot. It was short, entertaining, and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable. Gavin was amazing. He can be my new book boyfriend. The way that he was so patient even though he knew what he wanted but couldn’t get it. When he gets to go on a date with Emily and things go great but she tells him they can’t see each other he accepts what she says with aplomb. Gavin deciding that Emily is worth it and him telling her that he thinks that she is worth it was wonderful. The way everything worked out was perfect. I loved their happy ever after and I recommend reading this book.

When Emily walks into Gavin’s gym he falls for her instantly but she’s determined not to be distracted because she’s training for her last season of ballet. This is a sweet, insta love story between two people who after one date know they were meant to be together. I am loving this series and I look forward to reading the next book.

However, Emily is in her last professional season as a ballet dancer. She doesn’t want any distractions. Gavin says he will wait for friend. The characters have chemistry. This is a short sweet romance. Gavin is willing to wait for Emily to finish. I also love the relationship between Gavin and his dad.

Makes her heart do a grand jete
This story is about Emily and Gavin. Emily is a gorgeous, curvy girl that has been a professional dancer for years, and is gearing up for her last season due to an injury. With their usual gym closed temporarily, Emily and her friend Jessa go to a different gym – the gym that Gavin owns and works at. Their eyes innocently meet and there’s an obvious but sweet, instant attraction between them. He has a rule about maintaining a professional distance from gym-goers, but she’s making him test that rule.
Gavin knows what he wants, and asks her out on a lunch date. She accepts and they spend a wonderful afternoon together, and even share a beautiful kiss on their little excursion. He ends up asking her out again and she says she can’t. While it hurts her to do so, Emily explains that she can’t have the distraction of having a man in her life until after the ballet season is finished.
Gavin is so smitten with her that he offers to wait the ten months until her ballet season is over. He attends each performance of hers – unbeknownst to her, which is incredibly sweet and shows his commitment to her. Gavin tells his Dad she has a vibrancy about her. And he even manages to convince his Dad to see some of the performances too. Whilst he hasn’t met her yet, he too can see how Gavin feels about Emily.
Her final performance night comes, and there are many wonderful surprises awaiting her. This is a very sweet and steamy story, with very likeable characters in it. They pull you into their lives, and make you wish them all the very best. I was just sad to see the story end. I give this four and a half sweet stars.

If this story does not melt your heart and make you fell warm all over then I don’t know what will. Gavin is the a gentlemen that just with a single kiss will make you forget your name. He is good on his promises and hen some. Emily is a determine young women who will not let anything distract her.
I loved this story, the patience, the love, and caring you feel as you as Gavin waits for Emily to finish her dancing career. This is a story for that fairy tales are made of.

Emily is a ballet dancer, at the top of her game. She’s about to enter her last season, due to a leg injury, so she needs to strengthen her muscles for the gruelling work ahead.
Their usual gym is closed for renovations, so her friend Jessa decides to get a week’s pass from another gym & Emily goes along with it.
After settling into a few exercises, Emily notices a guy standing over the other side of the gym, just staring at her – Not in a leering way, but in a “He likes what he sees” way.
After being approached by a sweating beast of a man, who won’t take no for an answer, mystery guy steps up & orders the beastly man to walk away.
Gavin owns the gym & never takes any notice of the clientele, but out of the corner of his eye, he spies a natural beauty being hounded by one of his regulars.
He steps in to tell the man to carry on training – The guy’s not happy, but does as he’s told.
Gavin introduces himself to the ladies & finds out that they are only training there for the next week. He realises that he has a limited window of opportunity & on the last day, he asks Emily on a lunch date. She agrees, but looks torn.
Emily’s career means the world to her. She doesn’t need any distractions & Gavin sure is a big one! On their date, they naturally fall into an endless flow of conversation & laughter, but she knows it can’t go any further – At least for another year it seems.
After Emily let’s him down gently, Gavin finds out where the ballet is showing & he attends the first show. After, he hangs around the stage door hoping to catch Emily coming out. He needs to see her again – she has been on his mind constantly for the past 6 weeks!
When she emerges, he takes her for a celebratory drink & informs her that he will wait for her, not matter how long.
What ensues is a beautiful love story, full of angst & determination. I really enjoyed getting to know both characters & following them on their path to happiness.
Well done Kate. I look forward to more!
Emily and her friend Jessa go to a different gym and there Emily meets the owner Gavin.
due to renovations at the their usual gym Emily and Jessa had got week long guest passes to a different gym. Jessa admires the new scenery as the muscled hunks exercise around them while Emily is considering that the coming Ballet season will be her last. The men around eye the trim figures of the two Ballet dancers but Emily only notices when she sees a hunk standing in the doorway and then her eyes keep wandering back to him. When on of the regulars starts to bother them owner Gavin intervenes and introduces himself.

I fell in love with Gavin just by him knowing he had to wait for Emily. It’s sweet and I love how they connected and fell for each other even when it seemed fast. This is sexy and just a feel-good story all around. Now I’m hoping Jessa gets her own story.
Worth the Wait!!! This is a short but very sweet story of Gavin and Emily. He has a gym and Emily and her friend are there to work out when he realizes that one of the regulars is about to hit on her and he is not having it. He goes to her savior and comes out to find out that she agrees to ONLY one date as she is focused on her last year of dancing as she had an accident and is forced to retire. That one date changed their way of thinking but he held himself back as she requested and when the wait time ended he made sure she was aware how much in love he was of her and he did it with actions and not just word. Gavin was a true man in this book, I loved him just for being himself and not going out looking for someone until she was ready but truly waiting for his one and only. This was such a great book. You will have to check out the book to see what he head to do during this wait time, but it was awesome!

Wonderful storyline, of showing true love at first meeting. Absolutely, loved Gavin’s character as he was a true gentlemen in giving Emily the time she needed. I liked the build up to the ending of this novella, it fulfilled all the HEA these two deserved after putting everything on hold.
