Tiger Queen

I really enjoyed this book. It was a steamy reverse harem tale that also contained an excellent story line. I was interested in the story from the very beginning. It had a good story about animals which is a subject that I am very interested in as well. Additionally, the story held a little bit of an enemies to lovers theme as Rachel didn’t get along with Jake at first, which in my opinion makes the story a little more steamier and exciting. I would definitely read another book from this author.

I’ll be honest, I was a bit skeptical after all the hype with the “Tiger King”, but this book is absolutely wonderful! The characters are superb, the storyline fantastic, and the book draws you in completely! I couldn’t put it down!!!

Rachel was desperate to find a job but not just any old one she’d had her doctor of veterinarian medicine so she wanted to work with animals to keep them healthy not for a place where the poor animals were future hamburgers and fancy named steaks.
Tomorrow she and her roommate were saying so long farewell avidazen to the city of Tallahassee.
The problem now was to many people looking for the same almost non-existent positions.
Her roommate Ashley seriously just throw her under the proverbial bus when she sent her resume to Crazy Carl’s Zoo the video alone scream Ozzy’s crazy train.
But when they’d responded almost instantly what else could Rachel do.
She was being emotional as she drove by Doak Campbell stadium the proud home of the Seminoles, Osceola, and of course Renegade the Appaloosa horse.
However the thought of never seeing another home game just made her even sadder.
Rachel wasn’t sure what to expect when she arrived at Crazy Carl’s but the man who greeted her wasn’t the one in the video she’d watched.
What she saw was so much worse then she’d had thought it would be so she did what any sane human would.
She ran.
The last thing Rachel anticipated was finding one of the guys outside her motel room.
Yeah your right its bad, no it was so much worse David and his brother knew the zoo was a total nightmare.
After calmly listening to David explain their future plans for the animals she decided to do the right thing.
She spent the next day taking care of the animals trying to learn as much as she could about each one.
He wanted to be anywhere but here Jake hadn’t wanted to come back however he felt like he was taking a trip to the Shawshank.
Rachel tried to understand the dynamics between the brothers which at the moment were not on good terms and they were totally dysfunctional.
David the oldest Jake absolutely rocked the poor middle child syndrome and Anthony the baby of the family.
The zoo was on its finally leg, they were strapped for cash, there to many animals to feed and some of them really needed biggest enclosures.
Rachel had never considered herself to be an overachiever but wow how she found herself totally exceeding even her own expectations.
However they seem to take two-steps forward before something happens and there back to square one. There’s obviously someone is undermining all there efforts and the longer this goes the worse things could get.

Crazy Carl Haines ran a zoo, but he is gone now, leaving dozens of tigers behind. His three sons, David, Anthony, and Jake, have inherited the zoo and want to move the animals to proper homes. Rachel Koenig, with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and hoping to find a job in a zoo or animal sanctuary, was looking on the internet for something. Her best friend, Ashley, finds Crazy Carl’s Zoo had just posted an ad for a veterinarian and emails them Rachel’s resume when she walked off to the bathroom. Rachel figures it is sort of as a joke, not expecting anything, but an email comes right back asking when she can start! She had also completed a two year residency program accredited by the American College of Zoological Medicine and was actually qualified for the work. The thought of working with the big cats thrilled her!

The quality of the roads got worse and worse as she approached the zoo, and it felt like the forest was closing in on her car. She passed a boat marina that looked like it was covered in 10 years of rust! Once at the zoo, the parking lot was completely empty and the gate was locked with a rusty padlock as bad as the rust at the marina! A handsome guy her age came up behind her to ask if he could help her. She had been expecting Crazy Carl, so this was quite an improvement as David introduced himself! She asked for a tour and was not pleased. The white Bengal tiger was in a cage too small for him to pace. A group of tigers in another area had only one water source and their area had not been cleaned sufficiently – because they were short-handed, she was told. The food processing area, however, was the worst and made her angry. The food in the freezers was fresh, but blood on the cement floor and processing table made it unsanitary, it smelled horrible, it was full of flies, and the cutting saw did not have a guard on it. When another guy distracted David, she went back inside and took pictures. Maybe this place should be shut down, as Ashley had suggested from its previous reputation of improper animal care.

When David saw her camera, she screamed at him and Anthony, then ran to escape. She drove 15 miles, then stopped to grab some food and decided to stay at the motel rather than face the 11-hour drive home. Expecting towels to be delivered, she opened the door and David pushed inside. He wanted her to know the truth that they had just inherited the zoo the day before and were doing all they could to make it right until they could place the animals elsewhere. They needed her help to know how to care for them properly. The place was bankrupt, but the brothers would use their own money to fix this mess their father had created. This was exactly the job Rachel needed – so she agreed to stay. She had no idea of where else this arrangement would be leading her! And she hadn’t met the third handsome brother yet!

This is a good reverse harem love story told with humor, suspense, and excitement. The characters are wonderful. You’ll even want to hug the animals – though that is not advised! Grab your copy and enjoy a well-written book with lots of surprises coming your way! You will love every moment!
