Love always finds a way… was that he was going to be a father—again. He’s been down this road before and it ended in pain so devastating he thought he’d never heal. Still, he won’t abandon his child or Lindsay, the woman who–before they broke up–had been a bright spot during his darkest days.
Owen proposes, but Lindsay wants her child to grow up in a family built on love, not obligation. As they spend time together preparing for the baby, old feelings resurface. Owen encourages Lindsay to find her own way, hoping she’ll see this pregnancy has given them something special…a second chance at love.

Single father Owen was reeling after losing his daughter to a brain tumor. He’d been seeing Lindsay before her death but broke it off because he couldn’t see loving anyone again. He didn’t think about the consequences of their short relationship. Now that Lindsay was pregnant, he wanted her to agree to a marriage of friendship & convenience. Why wouldn’t she agree?
Lindsay couldn’t believe the week she was having. First, she quit her job & then finds out she’s pregnant. She tells the soon to be father & he expects her to settle for friendship instead of love. He’s going to find out things aren’t going to be that easy.
Readers were introduced to Owen, Lindsay & his daughter in previous books in the series as supporting characters. This book is about Owen finding the courage to keep living & move on with his life. Lindsay needs to find the courage to let everyone know & that she plans on being a single mother. This writer does an excellent job of bringing her characters to life through realistic situations & descriptive prose. The plot twists & turns as they try to work their way through their problems & figure out their future. I found this a very enjoyable story!
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. I think I say I like the next book I read in this series the best. Well this one is no different. We have been captivated by Lindsey from the very beginning of this series. I believe she has played a background role in all of the books in this series. We got to know her a little bit better in Eliza’s story and now we get the nitty gritty. Lindsey’s mother is Anita. Her sister is trying to turn her life around while raising her kids. I hope to hear her story soon (hint, hint). We have already seen the connection between Owen and Lindsey after the loss of his daughter, Mindy.
This story has many twists and turns with a lot of players and of course the Matchmakers are back in full effect. As always you get a glimpse of the continued lives of the other inhabitants of Good Hope. Love is definitely in the air but Owen and Lindsey have some serious issues to deal with. Will they take a whiff? This book keeps you guessing until the end. I loved it.
What can I say, I have definitely looked forward to see what would happen between Lindsay and Owen.
This relationship definitely has been a long time coming, and now Owen has left Lindsay with a broken heart. Lindsay tries to move forward with her life, but now she has quit her job, and finds out that she is pregnant. She is determined to be her best for this baby, and that means not settling in a relationship just because of pregnancy no matter if it’s the right thing to do. She wants and deserves love.
Owen tries to make the best out of the pregnancy, and knows that he should marry Lindsay. He’s definitely excited about being a dad again after the loss of his daughter Mindy. He’s still trying to move on, but knows that he should be with Lindsay. But is it enough, does his heart still have room to love?
I’m so glad that Lindsay doesn’t give in just because she’s pregnant. So happy to learn more about their story.
I usually enjoy the visit to Good Hope. This one was not one of my favorites. Normally, at the end of the book, I’m left feeling pretty good. This time around, I feel a little frustrated.
Owen and Lindsey seemed to have chemistry, but I felt like Lindsey ran hot and cold. After all the statements she made about their relationship, what she needed in a relationship, what they didn’t have, etc., he misses her and she makes it more intense.
I found her behavior to be both frustrating and confusing. I could understand Owen’s feelings better, considering he had recently lost his daughter, and was still working to come to terms with Mindy’s death.
The book provides a HEA, but it felt as rushed and unsure as the rest of the book. It was an ok story, but I didn’t care much for Lindsey. It was nice to revisit the characters in Good Hope. Despite my frustrations with this book, it is worth the read. I see the potential for a story with Cassie, Dan, and Krew with drama thrown in regarding Dakota. A story for Ethan, and, a potential story with Marigold, Cade, and their situation.
Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I didn’t feel like it ended so abruptly, and it had an epilogue.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book I received from the publisher.
Cindy Kirk weaves two important themes in Tie the Knot. She carefully balances Lindsay’s desire to raise her child and own her own business with Owen’s grief over the death of his daughter. Lindsay wants a marriage where she is loved and desired, not one of obligation. Owen doesn’t believe in love anymore. His first wife left him and his daughter Mindy died of a brain tumor. Owen withdrew from his friends and buried himself in his work. The baby changed the course of Owen’s life; he needed to decide if he wanted to choose his future or stay stuck in the past.
Tie The Knot in Good Hope is my favorite book in the series. I loved that Ruby Rakes and her friends Gladys and Katherine scheme to get Owen and Lindsay back together. The three senior citizens take their job very seriously and add lots of laughter to the novel. The author weaves in two marriages and plenty of small town events which allow fans of the series to catch up on their favorite characters. The poignant friends to lovers romance and importance of family and friendship make Tie the Knot in Good Hope one of my favorite novels of 2018.
Tie the Knot in Good Hope has all the feels—it’s an emotional, loving journey through heartbreak to new beginnings told with humor, honesty and compassion.
This was probably one of my favorites, besides Eliza’s story. Lindsay and Owen have both suffered loss and both had issues to overcome. This story was told beautifully and with great care. I laughed, cried and rejoiced throughout this entire book. Good Hope has become one of my favorite places to visit. The community has such heart and soul that I almost forget it’s a fictional place. One that I hope to visit again real soon!
Tie the Knot in New Hope is the seventh book in the Good Hope series and it tells Lindsey and Owen’s story. Lindsey has been from book one, a very sweet people pleaser and a bit of a doormat. Lindsey had to act as the go between various folks; her harridan of a mother and her screwup of a sister; and her prior BFF’s Ami and Eliza. She continued to work for her jerk of a boss for ten years at the flower shop. And finally, she became engaged to Reverend Dan because he asked her in front of her friends and family and she felt bad saying no. Owen has gone through hell in the prior books. As a single dad, he had to deal with his eight year old daughter dying from a brain tumor. During Mindy’s illness, Lindsey and Owen grew close and Lindsey breaks her engagement. This book starts six weeks after Owen breaks up with Lindsey. Linsey quits her job and finds out the next day that she is pregnant. Lindsey finally grows a backbone and is unwilling to settle. Owen is so scared by his past, he is afraid to love again. Their journey to their happily ever after is worth the read. This is a great next installment in the series. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
I always love visiting Good Hope and this is no exception. Lindsay always wanted to be married and have children. Now she is opening her new business and finds out she is pregnant. Owen is the father but he is suffering from his own grief after his daughter dies. Owen wants to do the right thing, but not sure he can open his heart up again. They agree to co parent, but will their feelings open up again for each other.
This is wonderful book full of love, family and friendships. I read it in one day, so good. Loved catching up with all of the characters from previous books. This book is part of a series but can be read completely as a stand alone.
