Maybe it’s just pregnancy hormones but I really want to lick him.I’ve ended up in a huge mess… my ex-boyfriend Jimbo wasn’t the dark soul with a heart of gold I thought he was. He knocked me up and then knocked me about. And when he tells me that I can’t keep the baby, it’s time to get out of Seattle.A fainting episode in a gas station in the Arizona desert leads me to Lawson. A real life … Lawson. A real life cowboy who runs his own ranch, Lawson is easy on the eyes. Muscles… everywhere. Huge package. Those little diagonal indentations that make a big arrow straight to his… toolbox.
But I’m not safe… it seems that Jimbo is still looking for me. Is Lawson the one who can protect me? And more importantly, can he convince me that he’s the man to tie me down?

Stilted and a bit strange!
This short read (approximately 100 pages) has a good premise and a decent storyline, but the dialogue seemed a bit stilted to me. Like they were reading lines instead of conversation flowing smoothies like when two people are just talking. The story is about a girl named Alana who is escaping from an abusive criminal boyfriend who threatened to end her pregnancy if she didn’t.
Alana stops at a small gas station in rural Arizona and faints from a bit of heat stroke. A local rancher named Lawson sees it happen and takes her home with him. While this is a good setup there are a few things that bother me. Like I said, the dialogue is stilted and a bit choppy.
From the very start Lawson and Alana joke around with each other and both end up realizing how long it has been since they laughed like that. Though the joking didn’t seem funny at all to me. For example, they go to get maternity clothes for Alana and start joking about how dowdy the clothes are, saying one nightgown would make her look like Wendy from Peter Pan and another Grenoble one would look like Peter Pan, they just need to find one that looks like Captain Hook. Then she ends up throwing a pair of large maternity underwear at his face. I just didn’t think any of it sounded funny.
Then there was the fact that he is into some BDSM, and he starts fantasizing about spanking her. A few minutes later, she is fantasizing about the same thing. It just seemed odd to me that after being abused, she would fantasize about being spanked, and that they both have the same fantasy within minutes of each other seemed a bit odd. I thin it would have flowed more naturally if she didn’t think about it at all until they got hot and heavy and he gives her a playful swat.
Then two other scenes bothered me a bit. One was after they are intimate without protection they decide to go get tested. The whole thing came off as odd to me. Then another when she gets emotional and throws out some flowers, the discussion about what she did gets quite preachy as he starts suggesting that she may need a psychologist because of her relationship with her parents.
Other than these few things, the book was pretty good. A lot of different things happened and I did finish the book. So I would give it a 2.75 stars, rounded up to 3 out of 5 stars. The romance was insta-love and quite steamy.
I loved the blurb about this book and knew it was going to be a fast and dirty read. However, I felt no real connection between the two characters.
I just feel like this book had potential but fell flat.
This short and sweet romance has a great storyline. The main characters have great chemistry. While this is a great standalone, I will definitely read more in the series.
This book was a quick read of Insta EVERYTHING. From the time Alana passed out at the gas station to the trip to IHOP, this book moves at warp speed.
It’s a fast, lighthearted read considering the subject matter. I was surprised about Alana being so trusting considering the situation she ran from, which was a different level of domestic abuse. I was also surprised by the unprotected sex.
Lawson was a nice and also seemed way too trusting. Maybe I’ve just become cynical.
This book can be read in part of an afternoon. I was able to read it via Kindle Unlimited.
I was looking forward to naughty diversion. I figured this quick hit would be that. It wasn’t what I hoped for. Though the premise works for me, the character development is lacking. I had zero connection to either main character. Their connection is not tangible. Nothing about their insta-relationship feels real.
Tie Me Down is more an excuse for some kinky fun but even that comes off a bit much. Not to bring realism into fantasy but anal the second time you have sex… on the second day you know a guy…never really having done anal before…not buying it.
Oh well maybe the rest of the series would be more my speed. However, at this time, I’m not at all motivated to see.
Tie Me Down is the first book in the Arizona Heat series, but it reads well as a stand-alone. I loved the chemistry between Lawson and Alana and enjoyed getting to know them. Alana is on the run from her abusive ex in her clunker of a car. She stops for gas is tired, dehydrated, stressed and passes out. Enter! Lawson Dale and his brother Jake, local ranchers who see the young pregnant Alana fall to the ground and go to help her. Lawson is amazing and the chemistry between them is electric. The characters are well written and each story in the series are carefully developed and creatively written. I would recommend reading the series. Each story is a stand alone and the characters do slide in and out of each story which adds to the enjoyment when you read each story.
The stories are filled with adventure, danger, suspense, Hot, Sexy Alpha men, feisty women, elements of BDSM, exciting, steamy sex scenes, fast paced and romance. Thank you, Katie Douglas
This was a great series! I loved how we got to see each guy on the Lemon Tree Ranch find their perfect match! I also enjoyed the BDSM aspect of these books! I felt that each scene was organic with the storyline.
If you love easy reading and hot cowboys with extra steam, check out the Arizona Heat series by Katie Douglas.
Well that was HOT!
I forgot how much i enjoy domestic discipline books. Some how Katie has figured out a way to write books that straddle that veryfine line between wrong and HOT as SIN. Not only that, but she manages to write characters with so much sharp wit, i couldnt keep a smile off my face if i tried. Not to mention the romance thrown in the mix.
I would highly recommend this book.
Happy reading!
Rating 5 stars
I have never been abused so I can not say what I would do in that situation. But I find it a little hard to believe that you would leave your highly abusive boyfriend and find yourself in bed with the first guy that shows you kindness. So that was one star down.
The second star was taken off because of how this story ended. I feel it ended way to fast. Things were going so good until the ex shows up and does a couple of stupid things and then all hell breaks loose, which I thought was stupid.
Now the good things. I enjoyed Alana and Lawson. They do have a wonderful relationship and I liked how it develops. Lawson is a great male and does take wonderful care of Alana and these two are wonderfully hot in the sack.
I will say that even though I gave this a 3 star I will continue to read this Arizona Heat series.
Our heroine fled an abusive boyfriend and literally fell into our hero’s care. Could this be the beginning of a real relationship?
This is a delightful novella length romance set on a ranch in Arizona. The plot is rather straight forward, but that does not detract from it at all. Sometimes simple is good and that was the case here. The characters were also wonderful, very down to earth, open and honest. I think our couple fit together very well and it made for easy, enjoyable reading.
The story does have elements of D/S and spankings, as well as some very nice and steamy scenes. Overall, a very pleasant read.
Highly recommended.
Alana is on the run from her ex -boyfriend who tries to kill her when she told him she would get rid of their baby. She passes out at a gas station and meets Lawson. Lawson is intrigues by Alana and worried because she looks exhausted and scared. So he just takes her home to make sure she rests. There’s something about Lawson that makes her feel safe and she doesn’t want to leave. However she doesn’t know if she managed to get safely away from her ex. When Alana’s troubles surface in town what will Lawson do? Can they be together with how they met?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
I loved this book. Writing is straightforward, nice. It was easy to read, which was great, because I was down with a cold at the time. I loved Alanna and Lawson, how he was a dream cowboy. Very enjoyable .
I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I loved this! It grabbed me from the first page, kept me til the last and enthralled me in between. Well worth your time to read it.
Arizona Heat seems like the perfect name for this series. At the beginning we have a character faint from the heat and it doesn’t take long for the characters to start producing some more heat of their own. I really enjoyed this book although I wish it were longer. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
This is a cute and sexy insta-love story with one big difference. Alana is fleeing her ex-con boyfriend she left with nothing and is 5 months pregnant with his baby. When she finally runs out of steam she quite literally falls into Lawson’s hands. He decides to take her to his ranch and thats when things get interesting. Lawson wants her despite her condition and Alana although she has been through so much finds herself falling for him to. They are such a cute couple they get along so well in and out of the bedroom. However there may be something threatening their newfound happiness can they overcome their problems together? This is a fun short read with plenty of steam and I hope it will not be the last in this series.
First book I read by this writer. Fantastic enjoyable gripping hot. This has everything a great storyline should have . Two amazing characters who have great chemistry. Beginning of what I see begin a great series. Alana is on the run from her ex boyfriend. She ends up stopping for gas and she faints. Lawson an amazing yummy cowboy finds her and rescues her in more ways than one. There was just something about this book. It has you gripped wanting to know what is going to happen to Alana. Loved it can’t wait to read more in this series.Katie gained a fan.
Who would have thought that running away from a bad situation could lead you to the happily ever after you’ve always dreamed of? Not Alana, but that’s exactly what happens when she literally falls at the feet of hot, sweet, dominant Lawson. Sparks and spanks fly in this wonderful new novel by Katie Douglas. This is the first in a new series and I am eagerly awaiting the next installment. This one is light, sweet, funny and oh, so very steamy. Arizona has never been hotter, and I’ve never been happier to say, Read This Book!!

Tie Me Down by Katie Douglas is a story about finding that one. That one that will do anything for you and will help you take on that burden and not balk at how heavy it is.
Alana is on the run from her abusive ex-boyfriend when she faints in a gas station in the middle of Arizona. Lawson just happens to be there when she faints and, southern gentleman that he is takes her in and gives her a room to stay. His ranch hand and brother are out of town for the weekend so he knows there will be time for Alana to adjust.
Being 4 months pregnant Alana is trying to survive. The last thing she thinks will ever happen is that a gentleman will come along and sweep her off her feet. Trust is a hard thing for her. She trusted her ex and look where it got her.
This is a really fast, novella. Most of the story was just over the weekend at Lawson’s when his ranch hand and brother are out of town. I wanna say the last couple of chapters are the rest of that same month and then, BAM!, they were engaged. It was hard for me to imagine a pregnant woman, four months along, jumping into a relationship that fast. But I do hope there are men out there that would step in as Lawson did for Alana.
First off, how can you not love Lawson?? This was a perfect quick read novella and start to a new series. The characters were developed beautifully and the insta lust was done tastefully and steamy. Alana is a woman who has fallen on hard times. On the run from an abusive ex while 5 months pregnant, she soon finds herself leaning on the kindness of Lawson. As these two get to know each other and explore their attraction, will they discover that they have something that can last? Or will they find it temporary and danger induced?
I recommend this book and this author. This book shows real depth and will not disappoint. I cannot wait to read more in this series.
