This is a new author to me and I am excited to start the series. And what a way to start off the series!! On the run from her ex-boyfriend who beat her and her unborn baby Alana finally ends up passing out at a gas station in Arizona only to be rescued by a sexy cowboy with a thing for damsels in distress. Lawson and his brother own a ranch in a small town. While helping Alana with getting her to a doctor and back on her feet there is an instant connection between the two of them. Alana doesn’t trust easily because she has been burned before but Lawson worms his way into her heart. Unexplained things start to happen on the ranch and Alana fears that her ex-boyfriend has found her. Will Lawson be able to protect her and her unborn baby from the danger that is stalking them? I look forward to continuing this series!! I recommend this book!
For the most part I enjoyed this read. It was a really quick read that I got through in less than an evening.
Lawson was a sweetheart – hardworking, considerate and, lets face it, hot as the Arizona sun, he was a man who wanted to fix things for people and protect those he cared about.
Alana was in self-preservation mode literally running for her life – following some less than perfect for her life choices – when she first encountered a sexy cowboy at an Arizona gas station, but even though he was a stranger, Lawson made her feel safe for the first time in who knows how long.
This pair sparked. Their attraction was pretty much instant and I like that the fact Alana was expecting didn’t put our leading man off. I enjoyed meeting Lawson’s brothers and am looking forward to their own books.
My biggest issue with the story was the speed of everything. The main events all took place in less than two weeks and while it made for entertaining reading, some back story for the leading characters or some more build up of their relationship would have made this a more substantial read.
All of that said, I will be checking out the rest of the Arizona Heat series from Katie Douglas
I’m giving Tie Me Down 3*

I really don’t know how to rate this book or even write this review. It’s not that it’s a bad book I just don’t think I was in the right frame of mind for it. I don’t think I was aware it was basically book porn as well. The story line had a lot of promise, but it was overshadowed by all the sexy times.
Alana was pregnant and on the run from her con man ex-boyfriend. With no clothes, dwindling cash and his stolen car she knew her time was almost up. It’s when she stumbles into a tiny town in Arizona and is rescued by Lawson our resident cowboy she thinks maybe heaven sent her an angel. Lawson rushes into to save Alana and knows he can’t leave a woman carrying a child behind. He invites her into his home and it’s here where they discover things about each other that others may find taboo.
I think my big problem with the wording. Liquid was used a lot to describe some bodily fluids often. Very very often. I know pregnant woman get horny easily but jeez Alana eat some ice cream and maybe take a nap. I was kind of confused on Lawson though. He was very southern gentleman (from Arizona) on the streets but very call me sir in the sheets. He was an odd dichotomy. I guess this book is more suited for someone who just likes sex sex and more sex in their book with some drama tossed in for good measure.
