She had a very good reason for breaking the first rule of magic … and the second one … Cami Donovan has secrets. Big ones that no one can ever know. All she can do now is try to forget the past and focus on the future. But as it turns out, her future—her family’s future—might not be shiny and bright unless she can help her sister resolve the cold case murder that’s been plaguing her psychic … cold case murder that’s been plaguing her psychic visions.
Falling for the sexy history expert who holds the keys to it all? That was never part of the plan.
The last thing on Sam Corraza’s mind is romance. Emotional entanglements bring nothing but pain. His past certainly taught him that. But when he’s presented with an old Hollywood mystery to solve, he can’t stay away—from the case, or the enchanting witch who brought it to him.
As they unravel the evidence—and their feelings for each other—it becomes clear that the past is coming back to haunt them in a big way.
With danger closing in, can Cami and Sam overcome all that stands between them—or is history destined to repeat itself?

Great storyline I loved how well the storyline flowed easily throughout the pages. The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages.
I received a copy and am voluntary leaving my honest review.
This first book in The Legacy Series by Luna Joya was a very entertaining and enchanting romantic suspense story combined with loads of witchcraft and secrets galore for both Cami and Sam which tends to make their relationship and emotions take a very roller-coaster-like ride of ups and downs as they struggle to define exactly what they are or are not together. I finished reading the story before I knew it, as it read quickly and easily. It is also a story about trying to solve a decades-old murder, as well as building a romantic suspense element as Cami attempts to elude a stalking ex-boyfriend in the here and now. It is also a story about the importance of family and knowing and accepting your place within it, secrets, warts, and all. I am eagerly waiting for book number two in the series to publish so I can add it to my TBR file. This is a voluntary review of this book.
I made a HUGE mistake when I swiped my finger across the screen to start reading Tides of Time. Mostly because I didn’t have the time to finish it all in one sitting. And it literally made me SO GRUMPY until I could get back to it and lose myself in the magic and wonder of Cami and Sam. Ya know that irritation that you feel when you’re hangry that you can completely identify as irrational, but you can’t help yourself? Yeah, that was me. There were several moments where I was extremely grateful to have a very forgiving boss when I bit his head off. Annnnnnyway…
Let’s talk about Cami, shall we? Okay this is seriously one tough chick. First and foremost, she has survived vet school and is a hair away from having all the certifications she needs. Just GETTING IN to vet school is impressive with, roughly, a 2:1 placement which is basically on par with medical school. Don’t ask me how I know these numbers off the top of my head, it is a long and pathetically boring story. So yeah, clearly our girl is brilliant. But then we add in conversing with animals, having elemental water power/connection, and, oh, did I forget to mention BEING A WITCH and you’ve got a seriously impressive heroine. As though that wasn’t enough, Cami is a survivor of domestic abuse and carries all the strength and scarring that comes with that heroic title.
Cami is also extremely devoted to her family. Which unfortunately can create issues for her. Such as when she has to rescue her baby sister from the edge of a cliff where she has gone chasing after the no-longer-with-the-living-but-not-really-gone Sunny Sol. The positive of this adventure? Cami and her sisters Mina and Delia stop at a restaurant for breakfast because, ya know, experiencing the final days of a former Hollywood starlet and conversing with the water can really take it out of a couple of girls. This particular eatery not only houses replenishing food, but a sexy owner who takes a shine to our brilliant Cami.
We all know (mostly because I say it on repeat) that I love me some broken boys. Now, I definitely had my caretaker spidey senses go up when I very first met Sam because he just carried that weight that I knew meant he went through some stuff. You can absolutely feel when a character is broken. But… all seemed pretty well at first. Right up until Sam and Cami start doing research into Sunny Sol’s life and mysterious death and secrets about Sam’s own family come to light.
Ms. Joya does an exceptional job of world building in a way that sucked me in and wouldn’t let me go. I felt as though I had stepped onto the pages of the book and was in SoCal with Cami and Sam. The descriptions were lush and vibrant and the compelling plot hooked me hard and wouldn’t let me go. Reading through Leslie Sol’s journals brought a tear or two to my eye (just go read so we can commiserate) with the depth of emotion.
And can I just say that a first kiss that is punctuated by a break-in and fire alarm may be my most favorite moment in the world **insert mega heart-eye emoji here**.
If you enjoy paranormal romance or urban fantasy (although be warned if you aren’t a lover of romance, Ms. Joya is a master of the sexy times *fans self*) you absolutely need to grab a copy of Tides of Time A.S.A.P.
Tides of Time by Luna Joya is an amazing story that I have had the privilege to read and loved very much. This is book number one in this amazing start to a new series writen by a brand new author for me to read. I can not wait to read the next book when it comes out and I highly recommend to readers that loves reading about romantic suspense and paranormal romances.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a stupendous, fascinating debut! I love how we have two stories, the primary relationship between Cami (a fabulous witch finding her way after leaving an abusive relationship) and Sam, a man who may have some magic in his background as well, and the tragic 1930s Hollywood mystery they solve together. I adore the way there are parallels between the past and the present and how the past informs the present and how the characters are able to learn from it.
Cami and Sam have great chemistry and I loved watching their relationship evolve. Also, again, chemistry. They are just beautiful together, the way they create balance in each other’s lives and learn to move forward and to each other is so well done.
Further, I adore the amazing cast of supporting characters (including Cami’s sisters, future main characters in the series) and the hints of a larger story between them all. I cannot wait for the next installment!

This book! From the moment it starts I’m hooked on the mystery building and the relationship of the sisters. Each with their own distinct personalities and powers add another element of intrigue. Then Cami and Sam meet and SWOON! Immediate attraction and angst ensue. This book has all the feels, strong women and a mystery that had me researching old Hollywood actresses and scandals. Read this book!
Tides of Time by Luna Joya—released by City Owl Press—was one of those reads that kept my hands locked around my e-reader and my butt firmly planted in my chair. This book promises witchy mystery and romance, and it doesn’t disappoint.
The rich world building Joya achieves positively bowled me over. I adored her unique take on magic and the skillful way she portrayed it—and her story—with deft care. I can easily get overwhelmed in paranormal, fantasy, or sci-fi reads when there is an excessive amount of new I have to wrap my readerly brain around. Don’t get me wrong, I clearly live and breathe great world-building, but it is possible to have too much of a good thing, and the authors of those genres tend to get a bit over their own heads sometimes. But Joya didn’t fall victim to that trend. Her words, story, and witchy world were all easy to follow, yet provided a genuinely new take on the topic.
Plus, her subplots? They’re wonderfully gripping and support the main story line effortlessly. I was particularly obsessed with the Sunny Sol mystery. It was so much fun to dive into the life of a starlet circa early 20th century Hollywood, and Joya handled the mystery around her death with finesse.
I would recommend this to any readers who love paranormal romance, magic, and mystery. Joya weaves a tale chocked to the brim with all three and will leave you panting for more!
I knew when I began reading Tides of Time that I was in for a romance served with a side of elemental magic. I got that: a HOT romance with excellent chemistry between the characters, and a paranormal aspect that was both intriguing and contained a unique spin on magical powers (as an animal lover, I adored the fact that Cami was a vet who could communicate with animals).
What I wasn’t prepared for was the compelling mystery woven throughout the story. As Cami hunts down clues surrounding the death of a silent era movie starlet, she’s also examining her own life and the startling way she ended things with her abusive ex.
I don’t want to include spoilers, so let me just say that there is plenty of suspense (and steam) to keep you reading, and the mystery is complex enough to keep you guessing. Luna Joya clearly knows well the Southern California terrain in which the story is set. The descriptions are lovely. I felt myself drawn to the waves just as Cami is.
The whole set-up of the story and its execution make this quite the page turner. Highly recommended!
This is the first book by this Author I have read and it looks like this is her debut book. A new series called The Legacy a well written story and I want to read the next book. Cami and Sam’s story has a bad ex, drama, danger, suspense, magic, and romance, I enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
