From a bestselling author comes a brand new friend to lovers standalone romantic comedy where tequila and sex shake things up. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been in love with Paxton West. I’ve planned our wedding in my head a million times. What our babies would look like. How we would grow old together and still play our favorite game — Tic-Tac-Toe. However, we have one problem. Paxton … problem.
Paxton doesn’t believe in true love, soul mates, or happily ever after. Oh, did I also tell you he doesn’t want kids? It also means I can’t explain to him that he’s the only guy for me, or about my — our — current situation.
The past started with a game of X’s and O’s.
Then came the miles and miles that kept us apart.
Next came tequila shots… They’re never a great idea.
Now, more than ever, the future scares the crap out of me. If my plan backfires, I could not only lose my best friend but the love of my life.
Dang those tequila shots.

I love friends to lovers stories. This is one author that knows how to write a great romantic comedy and I was laughing out loud. When you mix tequila and sex anything goes. When the man you want doesn’t want what you want do you still want him? Taking a chance on love may cost your best friend, do you take that chance? I loved this story about Paxton and Belle. This was a great story and with characters that I loved. Definitely recommend this book!!!
I was so excited when I saw A. M. Willard had a new book out. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors! When I read the synopsis, I knew I would love this book, and I was right.
Paxton and Annabelle have been best friends since they were children. No one knows them like they know each other…their fears, their joys, and how to make the other smile. They share everything…except one important thing. They are in love with each other, but they have never told each other. Paxton has a job that keeps him away for long periods of time. When he is back in the States, he stays with Annabelle. This time when he comes back their sexual tension combined with tequila shots totally changes everything.
Annabelle is completely thrown off kilter. She has always loved Paxton, and when she planned on telling him while they were in high school, something happened (no spoilers) that made Paxton no longer believe in love. So, she has never told him because she would rather have him in her life as a friend than lose him forever. She has waited patiently to see if his outlook will ever change. Even though she is a matchmaker, she has put her own love life on hold. As you can imagine, with this new development, she is afraid he will run again. To say she is confused would be an understatement.
Paxton has always loved Annabelle too. Even though he questioned love, he knows with Annabelle by his side, it’s possible. As I continued to read more from his POV, I saw how devoted he has always been to her. Every woman needs a Paxton in her life, and we women who do have a Paxton in our lives, are truly blessed!
Willard really threw a twist in there that I wasn’t expecting. It will test their love for one another, yet it has the possibility of giving them both more than they thought possible. This is when readers will see how wonderful Paxton really is.
As with Willard’s other books, she has created some great secondary characters who really help make the book better.
A.M. Willard has written several different kinds of series in the romance genre, and each book is different. However, some things remain constants in her books…her humor and sense of family and friendship. Those two things are always what bring me back to her. She knows how to make my heart flutter, and her books ALWAYS leave me with a smile on my face!

Tic Tac Love is a cute friends-to-lovers story with AM Willard’s special little twist.
Annabelle is a cute, perky matchmaker who is hopelessly in love with her lifetime best friend Paxton. Since she is convinced the feelings are unrequited, she silently longs for her friend. Unbeknownst to Annabelle, Paxton feels the same way about her. However, his dream job requires a lot of travel. Of course, this means the two aren’t available to explore the relationship they both secretly desire.
Ms. Willard’s latest romance is a quick read. The plot is straightforward, and it is well paced. The supporting characters were all fun. Paxton and Annabelle’s mutual friends put up with quite a lot from these two. I appreciated the low angst level; it is primarily about the worry of losing a friend if the hidden feelings were revealed. I was beyond frustrated with Annabelle’s irrational thinking and Paxton’s need to runaway to get his head clear instead of just speaking from his heart. Of course, without that conflict, there wouldn’t be much of a story. Essentially, I was as frustrated by the hero and heroine as was their circle of friends and family!
Tic Tac Love is an adorable, light romance with a smattering of humor and a heartwarming denouement.
I totally adored Tic Tac Love! It’s a sweet, friends to lovers, romantic comedy. Once I started I didn’t want to stop and before I knew it was over. Mrs. Willard does a wonderful job developing her characters, making it easy to love them. She creates a story that not only draws you in but keeps you captivated. I look forward to reading more by this author.
