This story take places at Danny’s bar. The Danny the owner treats his employees like his family.
adults that are their employees or customers. Meet the Staff, Max, Ashley, Kyle. While Gage & Ryan are friend of the staff. Then their are the ladies who are best friends Lyla & Janie.
Both have had a rough time growing up. The memories of their abandonment, lack of love or unconditional love. Has affected them in having a real relationship.
They became BFF’s during college & ever since have always been there for one another. Though they both still hold secrets. Secrets that they keep close to their heart. But the other friend always seems to know what the other is thinking, feeling & determined to make them They do seem to know each other when it comes to their fears, struggles when it relates to the opposite sex. As to why or why not to get involved in a serious relationship.

Max: a widow from a wife who did nothing but lie, manipulate, take away his dreams of college, building a business w/ his best friend Gage & alienate him from his own parents. He was so blind by young love. he believed every excuse this gold digger gave. Max lost who he was & When he finally realized the cheating bitch that she was & was about to be free of him (emotional) by asking her for a divorce but instead she ran off with her lover, father of her baby to be with insults, snickers. But she left with that laugh into a car accident.
Max allowed that pain, failure of his marriage & the lack of trust of women to never get involved in a serious relationship. After almost a decade he was now as the man to go to for a one night stand.
Kyle-is Max’s friend & the other adopted son in Danny’s work family. He can be a real jerk when it comes to saying things when under the influence. That hurts his friends to the core. Which is exactly what he did to Lyla one of the Danny’s regulars that are part of this created family. No one knows what is going on with Kyle. Need to find out in another chapter of this series.

Lyla- One of two woman that come to girls night out on Thursday Nights. A secret Romance novelist. Who has hard & cold childhood. Even a fan that turned out to be stalker. She will not let anyone get close to her. She is fine with one night stands but no long term relationships.
She didn’t have that type of family unit when she was a child. She has always felt abandon & abused. Which is why her private life stays private. And only her BFF Janie who is like her sister knows who she really is. When she breaks down, Janie will stand by her & visa versa. One person that she has the hots for is Sebastian Gage Max’s best friend. But he doesn’t make a move on her. Though he has the hots for her. But until she knows she is worth being adored, cherished he will not make his move. So instead he flirts, taunts & tells his pal how much he wants to be inside of her.

This nucleus group that have built a bond happen to have feelings for one another. Though they have different ways of dealing with their chemistry with one another. By not facing their feelings for one each other.
Ashley, Danny’s work daughter she is like one of the guys, knows Max’s secret. She rooms with the guys friend Ryan, who pretty much bicker like sibling’s & she gets to hear about all his man whore ways. Danny & Julie knows how Ashley feels about Ryan. But Ryan will not play along to his emotions. So he is a typical man in denial of his feelings.

Kyle & Ashley. They are the bartender’s of the bar. Danny & Julie are like the parents to there staff. Each person has issues, pain, struggles & fears of relationships. Though they are attracted to some of the patrons that come regularly to the bar. Specifically Thursday nights is girls night.

Janie: school teacher with a past of not being loved & always following or taking care of other peoples feelings. Her family & the only person she can trust is Lyla who has her own pain. But they are like sisters. Which means they know when the other falls for someone. Over the last 7 months Janie & Max have become close friends. But when they touch they both know they want more. But they don’t want to ruin their friendship. But they give into their feelings & make the agreement of just once and get it out of their system. What they didn’t realize is that they had a deep connection when they made love. For Max it was so much more, but he will not get into a relationship. When he hears Janie on the phone saying she thinks she can fall for him. His armor closes the emotions he is witness. All because of a woman who used, & threw him away. He never wants to feel that again. So he allows fear to control or allow anyone to give him love.
Janie only wants someone who can be honest, kind & love her unconditionally. She is falling for Max but he doesn’t trust anyone. While playing pool Janie walks in & hears the Max talking smack about their relationship. To Convince Gage that he is not in love with her. He says no friends if benefits & she needs to deal with it. Nothing more. Breaking her heart.

This story is long but its heartbreaking, emotional & physically raw. It’s about Janie & Max, building trust, & learn to be honest to one another. Realize that they deserve to be happy. This only happens after incidents, & dating & attempting to have one night stands for them to realize they are madly in love. Does this could end up with a HEA? I couldn’t put the book down until I knew they would have happiness in their story!
