“Charlie Adhara’s debut series has been a real triumph, boasting complex, tightly constructed plots, excellent world-building, two fabulous, engaging central characters and a steamy romance.” –All About Romance Agent Cooper Dayton is going to meet his boyfriend’s werewolf family. Unarmed. On their turf. And he’s bringing his cat. When Agent Cooper Dayton agreed to attend the funeral for … Agent Cooper Dayton agreed to attend the funeral for Oliver Park’s grandfather, he didn’t know what he was getting into. Turns out, the deceased was the alpha of the most powerful werewolf pack on the eastern seaboard. And his death is highly suspicious. Regardless, Cooper is determined to love and support Park the way Park has been there for him.
But Park left him woefully unprepared for the wolf pack politics and etiquette. Rival packs? A seating order at the dinner table? A mysterious figure named the Shepherd? The worst is that Park didn’t tell his family one key thing about Cooper. Cooper feels two steps behind, and reticent Park is no help.
There are plenty of pack members eager to open up about Park and why Cooper is wrong for him. Their stories make Cooper wonder if he’s holding Park back. But there’s no time to get into it…as lethal tranquilizer darts start to fly, Cooper needs to solve the mystery of the alpha’s death and fight for the man he loves–all before someone else dies.

There was Dayton family drama in the previous book, and then there was Park family DRAMA here!!!! It was gloriously intense, so raw and at times angry and finally showed all there was to know about Oliver Park and what made him tick. I enjoyed the range of emotions displayed by Oliver – vulnerability coupled with insecurity that made him look less than perfect but so much better for me, and I am sure for Cooper as well. Some of the time I held my breath from everything both men were going through. Loved it! I am so glad I started reading this series. Absolutely wonderful story telling.
This is a werewolf story but it could be about anyone or anything because it is more about relationships than anything else. Park has a complicated relationship with his family and he drags Cooper into it unprepared. I really liked Cooper and the way he handled each trial sent his way. A sweet and sometimes scary read. I didn’t know that this was part of a series when I picked it up but it reads fine standalone. That being said I enjoyed this enough to want to go back and see how Park & Cooper’s relationship began.
Ahhh this was fabulous. I’m not sure which one I’ve loved more, this third installment or the second one, but I don’t think that matters: it was compelling and action-packed and romantic.
Cooper and Park’s relationship is definitely put to test during the events of “Thrown To the Wolves” and the title is apt at summarizing what this third book is about: Cooper is literally thrown into Park’s messy and painful family life and past, and comes out of it grown and changed and I’m so proud of him right now. He’s still an anxious mess with lots of self-confidence issues and a penchant for danger, but he’s matured so much and every time he stopped himself from jumping to conclusions or to quick anger I literally wanted to hug him. Park, on the other hand, tested my patience not once, not twice, but many many times. He kept lying and being cagey and I just wanted to smack him on the head and shout at him. He’s still a sweetheart, and his issues are fairly heart-breaking, but that doesn’t justify putting Cooper in uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous, situations without warning.
I absolutely loved the mystery though: I was shocked at quite a lot of twists and turns. And all the Park family drama, though entertaining as ever, left me missing the easy messy life of the Daytons and Jagger Valley. I’m looking forward to seeing a bit more of them all though, and wolf society and customs in general.
The ending was perfect and lovely and romantic and I cannot wait to read the next book.
This series just keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait until the next one is released! I’ve binge-read the first three books, and now I have a bit of a book-hangover. So the 4th book needs to be released yesterday!

This book is not standalone. It follows The Wolf at the Door and The Wolf at Bay.
I enjoyed this series. Cooper is an FBI agent who survives a werewolf attack. He’s in a space of ‘What the fuck? Werewolves aren’t real but I know what I saw!’ and he is offered a new role in a new division which will explain everything….on the understanding that if he accepts the new role, his career in the FBI is over. He accepts, and is told that yes, werewolves are real, and he is now part of the Bureau of Special Investigations which investigates werewolf crime. Oh, and his new partner is a werewolf.
The first book in the series is set in neutral territory as Cooper and Park investigate a suspected serial murderer. I love it when I can’t predict who the killer is. The book kept me guessing.
The second book is set in Cooper’s hometown, and there were more whodunits, and some interesting action. This one, the third, was my favourite and set in Park’s hometown, and there was a twist there that I did not see coming but which made crazy sense when it happened. Well played, Charlie Adhara!
The humour was brilliant. I loved Cooper’s snark.
If you enjoy paranormal romance, this series is great. A nice balance of action and emotion, and I thought the incorporation of the werewolves into the real world was realistic and well done.
Love this series! Book 2 knocks it out of the ballpark, again! Not only is this a good mystery with a great storyline, but we get to see growth for both of our guys. Park and Cooper had amazing chemistry.
This reminded me of Levi and Dominic (Seven of Spades).
Romantic suspense, intriguing mystery, unique paranormal universe, unpredictable twists and turns, banter and sexy times…highly recommended
Charlie Adhara is one of my favorite authors of shifter romances, and the wait for this book was long!
OK, it was reasonable, I was just *really* looking forward to it. And it was awesome. THROWN TO THE WOLVES is the 3rd book in Charlie’s BIG BAD WOLF series and a meaty continuation of Cooper & Oliver’s romance, with some long-awaited info on Oliver’s past and family.
If you haven’t started this series yet, begin with Book 1, THE WOLF AT THE DOOR. If you’re ready for Book 3, time to pick it up. Highly recommend!
This series is just…wow! The Big Bad Wolf books have all my favorite things: great characters, witty banter that makes me smile, accessible romance, suspense that keeps me guessing, and stellar writing tying all those aspects together. Thrown to the Wolves marks the third book in the series featuring established couple Oliver and Cooper. Although the author does a great job refreshing scenes and relationships, I do think this is one that reads best in order. I loved the premise of Thrown to the Wolves- seeing the men’s relationship continue to deepen while gaining a better understanding of Oliver’s history and his pack all capped with an ending I hadn’t seen coming.
Thrown to the Wolves follows Oliver and Cooper to the Park family homestead for his grandfather’s funeral. There the couple is faced with all sorts of stressors including family power struggles, the pack’s acceptance of Cooper, a potential hunter threatening their family land, and loads of secrets being revealed. The drama surrounding these storylines certainly tests the couple and I enjoyed seeing the relationship dynamic shift and develop over the course of this book. I love that despite being a shifter fantasy novel, the romance and relationship concerns are honest and relatable rather than it being simply fueled by an “irresistible bond” pulling the men together. It’s easy to care about these two and by the end I definitely felt I had a much better understanding of Park and what his stakes in the relationship are. Then there’s the case. Each book has left me guessing and Thrown to the Wolves was no different. I loved the twists and surprises that kept popping up and was utterly glued to my kindle cover to cover. There is a lot going on in the book and loads of secondary characters and relationships to track, but I never felt overwhelmed with information or that it didn’t all fit within the storyline. Thrown to the Wolves is an easy recommendation that ticks all my boxes- from the pacing to the dialogue and the action scenes to the love scenes…I’m simply left excited for the next one.
