She thinks she knows this player—but he has a few surprise moves. For Alicia Riley, her job as a sports therapist for the St. Louis Rivers baseball team is a home run—until she becomes the primary therapist for star pitcher, Garrett Scott. Out of the lineup with an injury, he’s short-tempered, hard to handle, and every solid inch, a man. Right now, the only demand he’s making on Alicia is that … making on Alicia is that she get him ready to pitch in time for opening day. Except the sexual chemistry between them is so charged, Alicia’s tempted to oblige Garrett just about anything. But both their careers are at stake—one bad move and it’s game over for both of them.
Garrett also feels the hot sparks between them, and the way he figures it, what better therapy is there than sex? Now all he has to do is convince the woman with the power to make the call.

It’s mid-September and the Boys of Summer are about to fade into winter. I had to get at least one more baseball read it before that happens. This series is a bit different than most sports romance series in that each book is not about a member of the same team. In The Play by Play series, the books involve different sports, teams, athletes, and are centered more around the Riley family. They are a huge family and most of them are pro-athletes or work for pro teams. In this one, Alicia Riley opens her big mouth and suddenly becomes Garrett Scott’s sports therapist rehabbing his shoulder. Garrett? He’s a star pitcher for the St. Louis Rivers. He also injured his shoulder at the end of the last season and isn’t sure he’ll be back on the mound this season unless something changes.
And that’s where the fun begins. Alicia’s methods are a bit unconventional but she gets results. She is also one confident person. She also has a sixth sense of what the player needs. It takes Garrett a while to realize all these things and to trust her but once he does his rehab takes off. And so does their relationship.
Thrown by a Curve is pure entertainment with a side of steam. It was fun to watch these two maneuver through establishing a relationship and then trying to keep anyone on the team from finding out. The interesting part was when they were outed and how Garrett handled it all. It was also fun watching him grow up just a little.
This book kept me interested from the beginning to the end. I loved the hot & steamy scenes. Alicia & Garrett made a cute couple. I love how Alicia didn’t baby Garrett or put up with his crap like the other therapists did. I love how Alicia showed Garrett he can have a loving family like hers. I love the sacrifice Garrett was willing to make to be with Alicia. I love this series.
This book was okay, I got a bit tired and started skipping ahead about mid way through….
A nice love story. Two people are thrown together. The baseball player and the physical therapist who is to heal his injury and get him back to playing. Unfortunately a physical attraction gets in he way of “just business.”
I am loving this series! Garrett Scott is the injured pitcher and not recovering as quickly as anyone thought he would, especially him and when Alicia Riley spoke up she captivated him. She is on the sports medicine team and he wants her for his main therapist. These two have chemistry off the charts and once they figure out their boundaries, or no boundaries, his recovery starts to take shape. Will they be able to keep it all together to get him back on the mound in time for the season?
Baseball. Who could not like a baseball book! Loved it.
When faced with a career ending injury, Garrett will do anything to be pitching on opening day but it is not until Alicia Riley becomes the lead on his PT team does his future seem brighter. But when their relationship becomes more than therapist/patient will Garrett lose the path that was set in stone for him or can he juggle both personal and professional expectations? Nothing better than baseball and romance and Jaci Burton has a way to lock you into her stories from the opening pages. Cannot wait for more in this series.
The whole series is great!!
