A fun and sexy romance where the kiln isn’t the only thing that’s scorching hot.
Leo Secombe loves his life, and he’s convinced himself he’s happy to be single. In his spare time, he keeps himself busy at a local LGBTQ centre that pairs a younger person with a community elder to help them feel included in today’s rainbow family. Leo and Clyde have been buddies for a few years now, and signing up … signing up for a pottery class seems like fun.
Merrick Bowman has been so focused on getting his pottery business up and running that he’s forgotten how to date. How to live, even. But when a young, bubbly Leo and an older, grumpy Clyde walk through his door, Merrick has no idea how much Leo is about to centre his world.
Throwing clay has been Merrick’s entire life, but Leo’s about to change all that. Maybe Merrick’s ready to throw caution to the wind. And maybe he’s ready to finally throw his heart on the line.
Throwing Hearts is 55,000-words.

I always can count on NR Walker for a sweet and feel good story. I absolutely love Merrick and Leo’s story! This is just what I need to read right now. I love the relationship between these two and the side characters are amazing too. Definitely another winner!
What a TREAT! This is truly a beautifully written love story. N.R. Walker at her best. Leo and Merrick will capture your heart in the best way possible. The chemistry, banter and all around terrific story will grab you from the first page and you will not be able to put it down until the very last page.
The secondary characters are real scene stealers and will have you laughing and sighing. This was a real pleasure to read.
Throwing Hearts by N.R. Walker is one of the sweetest and lowest angst books I’ve read for quite a while.
Merrick and Leo are simply adorable and so perfect for each other. And the supporting cast of characters are so splendid, adding further depth and humour to the story.
When Leo and Merrick meet it’s like watching jigsaw puzzle pieces fit together. There’s very little unease and I found their journey easy to read and hard to put down!
Many colours of the rainbow bring this story to life, not to mention N.R.’s penchant for describing delicious foods and a delightful smattering of pop culture references to make you giddy!
Throwing Hearts by N.R. Walker is simply the most perfect literary sweet treat – delightfully satisfying, leaving you sighing with a dopey grin on your dial!
A great slow burn love story about Merrick and Leo t6hey had an attraction from the start and it just grew from there. As usual NR has written a truly romantic love story that was hard to put down. I highly recommend this book.
My heart wanted to burst with how sweet and romantic Leo and Merrick were. Their meet-cute at Merrick’s pottery class was adorable, and then every interaction that followed was just so cute I couldn’t stop smiling. There is no relationship angst or drama which I loved. It’s just Leo and Merrick meeting, unable to stop thinking about the other, going out, and generally being too darn sweet and honest as they work out how perfectly they fit together. And it’s done in just the right way that we get a heart-squeezing romance that never once borders on being nauseatingly sweet or tedious. If you’re looking for something light and extremely well-written, and full of love and humour (especially when the grumpy and sarcastic Clyde is around Leo), look no further!
This is bookish candyfloss! Light and fluffy, this book will leave you feeling uplifted and happy.
Even though we’re talking fluff, this book delivers an important message and that had me choking up a bit towards the end.
I’ll definitely be re-reading Throwing Hearts on days that I need a pick-me-up.
I had tears.
This wasn’t what I was expecting. There was an amazing and beautiful twist in there as a nod to those who came first & lead the way. A gorgeous love story
I enjoyed it. The characters were well-written and engaging, the entire cast not just the MCs, they came across as someone you wouldn’t mind being friends with. The storyline was sweet and enjoyable, I really like how the MCs were mature enough to actually talk about their issues and not allow miscommunications and silence to wreck their growing relationship. All in all a very enjoyable read.

This book is the perfect example why I love reading from NR Walker. Her books are never dissapoints, and always perfect.
The story is unique, the characters are lovely, and it’s easy to read and fall in love with them.
Leo and Merrick were two cute, funny and adorable character. I loved reading about their relationship, and loved all the pottery scenes. It was really cool and sometimes hot – just like that Ghost scene. OMG the Ghost scene was the most perfect ever. LOVED it so much! It was full with romance and just the perfect amount of erotica.
And it was really good that they didn’t hurried their relationship into the full on sex. It was frustrating, but so so good. And did I mentioned it was really hot?! NR Walker really did an amazing job with this book. I mean she can write so hot scenes while just kissing or cuddling or while playing with clay! There are some authors who can learn from her, becuase NR is a genious.
It was so romantic my heart almost stopped. Really, really loved reading it. And HIGHLY recommend it!
This was such an amazing, enjoyable, sweet, charming, grab-you-by-the-feels, engaging, sexy, delightful, and wonderful story. I was hooked from the very first page, and I would definitely recommend getting this gem immediately.
I really enjoyed Merrick and Leo’s story. I thought they were super cute, and their chemistry jumped off the page at me. I loved how they each seemed to find each other at the right point in their lives to make their relationship a go. I loved Leo’s kind heart and his dedication to the Bridge-The-Gap program. Leo’s Senior Clyde was such a character! In turn, Merrick had his own heart of gold. I loved how Merrick and Leo truly got to know each other before jumping into bed! But holy hotness those sexy times while they got to know each other!! I also adored Leo’s roommate Kell, she was such a trip! This was a fantastic read and I know I had a smile on my face while I read it! I could feel the heart eyes coming off the pages with these two!
This book is so full of fluff!! It was sweet, short and sexy! If you’re looking for a pick-me-up or just in the moment for some light reading with no angst, this is it!!
Leo and Merrick are perfect together. I love the banter and I never thought pottery class could be filled with so much innuendo. I was just smiling throughout the book.
I adore all the secondary characters, especially Clyde and Donny. They are adorable and I’m so happy for them. Clyde is grumpy and cute and so very honest. And Donny made me cry! It’s too beautiful for words. And that epilogue turned me into a puddle of goo.
Kell, Leo’s bestie is totally amazing!! And can you really have a book about pottery without including the iconic Ghost scene?

Oh wow was this such a sweet story! No angst at all just an adorably wonderful courtship. Merrick and Leo met, Merrick and Leo dated and got to know each other, Merrick and Leo fell in love. It was simple, it was so much fun to read, it kept a smile on my face the entire time. There was a slow burn element to this that I loved, there were wonderful side characters that fit perfectly into the story, there was a self discovery journey for the delightful Uncle Donny that melted my heart…this was a wonderfully written story of finding love and happiness!
