Trudy hears a plaintive cry in her mind and then connects physically with a little girl’s kidnapper. She is drawn to a small town in Missouri, where everyone is suspect including her and Levi. As she and Levi work to sort through whom and what to trust and struggle with horrors that hit too close to their hearts, an innocent life hangs in the balance.– We get to see why Levi is the way he is. He meets Trudy’s parents and has a heart-to-heart with her father. We learn more about Levi’s treatment by his evangelist father who is terribly cruel. The kidnapped girl is Levi’s youngest stepsister. His father and stepmother are involved in this book. Levi gets closer to Trudy and is not hesitant to let her know how much he loves her. This is a wonderful story. Their story continues in books 4-6.
This is a fabulous book! One minute I’m glued to each page and my heart is pounding and the next I’m laughing out loud at some antics between Levi and Trudy. I love the little dog, Mouse. The storyline is terrific; the mystic theme is great and the romance is well written. There are sensual scenes and this is an adult. I loved it!

This is book 3 in The Mind’s Eye series, and it would really be advisable to read Through His Eyes and Through His Touch first. Because they follow on, quite quickly, one after the other, and you need to get the full picture before embarking on this one.
Trudy and Levi continue to grow in the new relationship, but some things Levi still keeps from Trudy. A phone call from a past he wants nothing to do with, forces him to face his demons, with possibly catastrophic results. Trudy is having visions, but this time, they come from the victim, rather than the criminal, and suddenly, its a little close to home.
I loved book one, but found book two lacking a little something, and while I really really enjoyed this one, it still doesn’t quite hit the heights book one did.
We get so much more of Levi’s background, his upbringing, and I tell ya, its a wonder the man isn’t quivering in some institution somewhere! I shudder to think at the things he went through as a child, and the lack of support both his parents gave him when he first started seeing the dead, at the tender age of 9.
I must admit, I did not see who dunnit coming at me, my mind went off in a totally different way, so being surprised is a good GOOD thing! I loved that Trudy’s skill and power was grwoing, I loved that. I even liked Levi when he went off on one at Trudy for whatever reason. Why since he was being a dick?? Yes, he went off on one, but he walked away, and came back and talked it out with Trudy, he FINALLY opened up to her.
I#m sad to see the end of this series, they really were rather good. I’d recommend them to anyone with a like of paranormal (but no beings involved!) those who like crime/thrillers and those who like a good romance too. It has a bit of each, ENOUGH of each to an interest to those who like these three genres, with them all crossed over, mixed up and muddle around.
