The moment I saw her walk through the door of Forbidden Ink, I knew she was the one. With her wide hips, thick thighs, and perfect breasts, she’s every man’s wet dream. Add to that her dark, soulful eyes, pouty lips, and a body covered in gorgeous art, and I knew I needed to make her mine. She’s a walking contradiction of sass and strength and determination, hidden by insecurity and self-doubt. … insecurity and self-doubt. She’s everything I could ever want or need, but she doesn’t see what I see.
I want to take away her pain. To be the one to make her laugh, to make all her dreams come true. I need to prove to her that I’m not him, that no matter what, I’ll be right there beside her. Loving her.
If only she could see herself through my eyes, she would understand we were made for each other.

Nikki Ash brings us Quinn and Lachlan’s story. It’s is beautiful, inspiring and will have you in the feels.
Quinn and Lachlan have a beautiful connection. Lachlan brought Quinn back to the living. She lived her life for her child but lost a piece of her precious relationship.
This story sends the message of hope. Nikki Ash took me an an emotional ride as this book had me captivated and touched. I connected with the characters and totally fell in love with Lachlan right along side Quinn. This book is not to be missed.
Through His Eyes by Nikki Ash was a very touching and emotional reading experience for me. She created this absolutely brilliant love story which is inspiring, intense and incredibly honest. I instantly connected with the flawed and real characters. And I could feel all their pain, happiness and love like my own. That was possible due to the author’s stunning writing. A memorable story that touched me at a deep personal level.
Quinn and Lachlan’s story talks about some hardcore and completely believable real life issues. And that is what attracted me the most. Quinn is an amazing woman. She was put down and her spirit was brutally broken by someone she loved. But she got herself back together somehow for her daughter, Kinsley. She still has darkness, insecurity and vulnerability. She is scared to open herself and has self doubts all the time. Enter Lachlan. The much younger, sexy, gorgeous, newly appointed tattoe artist in her brothers ‘ shop. And he is willing to do the hard work of breaking down her walls.
Lachlan won my heart easily from the first line. He is so good with Quinn and Kinsley. He may be young but he is so mature, charming, patient, caring and protective. His love was unconditional and fierce. The chemistry was on spot. It was hot and seductive. And it was intoxicating, captivating and soul deep. They had some obstacles as Quinn reacted on survival instinct and he could not stop the heartbreak happening. But that was the beauty of this story. It was not all flowery and sweet and easy. A single mom dating a younger guy creates some serious issues and they were addressed properly here rather than avoiding. And can I just say that Kinsley is the cutest and most adorable kid ever?
Through His Eyes by Nikki Ash was all about lifting each other up with true love. Lachlan and Quinn complete each other. A heartbreaking, heartwarming and awe- inspiring love srory by Nikki Ash.
Received ARC for Honest review
An emotional roller coaster!
What a fabulous story by Nikki Ash. I picked up this book and didn’t put it down until I was done reading. This may be the fastest I have ever read a book from start to finish. The emotion coming from the pages is evidence of a great book. I both laughed and cried while reading. I absolutely loved Lachlan and Quinn. When Quinn meets Lachlan she right away notices their age difference. She also has many hang ups and misconceptions about her body that were instilled in her by her first husband. Lachlan slowly makes her see herself through his eyes. It’s an absolute amazing transformation. Pick up this book and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. This is one of my favorites so far of 2019.
Wow, I mean Nikki Ash does it every time, writes an amazing story with characters that you connect with and can’t help but fall for the guy. This was a beautifully written story filled with a character who doesn’t see herself as enough and doesn’t know how to handle someone telling her see is. Quinn has been through a lot, we got little peaks into her life, but now we get the whole story and oh my, this story puts you in Quinn’s corner rooting for her. Quinn meets Lachlan at her brothers Ink shop and the minute they meet you feel that moment where the connection is ignited and will continue to burn throughout this story until it is too intense. Lachlan knows who is is and tells Quinn the most beautiful truths, but Quinn has a hard time seeing that through his eyes. Quinn and Lachlan take you on an emotional journey that pulls at the heart and makes you root for this two to figure things out. Read this book, you will fall in love with Quinn and Lachlan the moment they meet!
This story is very special to my heart. The words that I just read i this book sunk deep into my soul and will stay with me forever. I don’t even know how to express how this book touched me, resonated with me and felt like the words written were pulled directly from the depths of my mind. Every thought and every encounter Quinn has with her family, and Lachlan portrayed the feelings so many women have, including me after going through what she did, or even something similar. Quinn is the most beautifully broken, pieced together example and advocate for women like me and many others who lived to much of their lives not being enough. Being beaten down verbally and emotionally, causing them to be trapped inside their insecurities, not being able to come up for air or have the courage to be confident in themselves. “lm functioning,I’m mothering,I’m working, but I’m not actually living”. I can’t even express how true that is for me and how connected I feel with Quinn.
Quinn is a single mom, just living every day for her daughter and has become accepting that she will never be good enough for any man, because of the emotional abuse she has been through. To the point where she just stopped trying. Until she walks into her brothers’ tattoo parlor and becomes the sole focus of the handsome new tattoo artist that she can’t figure out for the life of her why he won’t stop staring at her. She can’t even begin to fathom why he would think she is attractive and begins thinking about all of the qualities about herself that have been embedded into her mind as the exact opposite of attractive. Lachlan is determined to win her over and will do anything to show her how how he’s sees her through his eyes. This story is all about the heroine people! Lachlan is amazing and handsome and is the catalyst that sparks her journey, but the heart of it is all Quinn and her battle with her self image, insecurities and her mind. The storytelling of this book is simply amazing and will simply speak to you on so many levels
I go into a Nikki Ash book knowing I’ll enjoy it. She always has great storylines and lovable characters.
Single mom.
IRISH. BEARDED. TATTOOED. HUNK.
What’s more to want?!
The reason this wasn’t a five star for me was all personal and all about the trope: age gap.
I have a love-the relationship with age gaps. I love them (when they’re not icky) but sometimes… they get a little repetitive and annoying because it’s:
“you’re too young for me… let’s stay together”
I’m so old… but I want you”
“you can find someone better/younger… but I want you to want me”
And I get to the point where I’m just DUDE! MAKE UP YOUR MIND! HE FINE AS HELL SO SEX HIM UP AND MARRY THAT MAN”
Anywho. I really liked it! It kept me entertained and turning the page (or tapping the screen ) until I got to the very end.
Lachlan is the ultimate book boyfriend! And what a babe!! *drools*
No one, and I mean absolutely NO ONE does single parent romance as amazingly as Nikki Ash. I find myself constantly going back to reread her books just to get a fix because I’ve loved each and every one of them, but Through His Eyes touched me on a whole different level. I felt this book in my soul. Quinn and Lachlan have a story that is not only sweet and sexy but is guaranteed to steal your heart completely.
I related to Quinn on a level I did not expect. While what I’ve personally been through was slightly different than what she went through the words and harm thrown at me were so similar to what was thrown at her. I could honestly feel all she went through. I cried both tears of heartbreak and happiness for her so much. And then Lachlan. I could not get enough of the man. His heart was so big and he loved both Quinn and her daughter so fiercely.
I wish I could give this book a billion stars.
5 I Want More Stars!!!!!!
This was an amazingly beautiful love story! I know it’s going to stay with me for a long time. Lachlan and Quinn are two very special characters and I fell so in love with them for different yet the same reasons.
Quinn is an absolutely amazing woman, she is strong, beautiful, thoughtful, I mean she is everything I wish I could be. She comes out of a horrible situation and makes a life for herself, some may have crumbled and not moved on, but not our Quinn. She picked herself up, enlisted the help of those she loved and moved the F on!!!!! I loved her, insecurities, and all.
Lachlan… I don’t know where to begin. Talk about every girls’ Prince Charming, minus the armor and horse, but add some really sexy tattoos, cap and beard lol…. Some/most men would have walked away at the first sign of Quinn’s issues. God knows she didn’t make it easy for him. His patience, his persistence, his devotion was everything!!!! He is such a special person and I loved him with all my heart!
This was overall just a great read, it had my attention from page one and I was left wanting more!!!!
Words can’t describe how much I loved and adored Lachlan & Quinn’s story! Definitely one of my top reads of 2019! I was consumed from the first page to the last! I highly recommend!
I had no idea when I started Lachlan & Quinn’s journey that I would fall hopeless in love with these characters & their story. Lachlan is the book boyfriend that I couldn’t help but swoon over. Quinn has been through a lot & being a single mom was hesitant to start a relationship. I loved watching Lachlan & Quinn find their way to happiness.
I loved every page & I can’t wait for more by Nikki Ash. And I really hope Declan’s story is next!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
I devoured this book. Quinn is so beautifully broken. Lachlan is yummy perfection. This book a wonderful heartfelt journey. I don’t want to give spoilers. Just read it. You will get ALL the feels and swoons!!!!
I don’t know how Nikki Ash does it but she always raises the bar higher with each book she writes.
Through his eyes is an amazing book. Quinn is someone that everyone can relate to. She is my favorite kind of heroine, strong, resilient and a devoted single mom. Lachlan sees Quinn and knows exactly what he wants…. her and Mini Q is a bonus. Can he convince a woman who has been torn down to finally see herself through his eyes?! I loved Lachlan, he was the perfect hero!
This is a story that is timeless and tugs at your heartstrings. I haven’t read this author in some time but I always devour her books and she makes me love her books even more with each one I read. Quinn has had a hard life growing up but now that she is married she is thrilled that she has found her prince but as the years go by she realizes that she married the ogre instead of the prince. She finally escapes but is shattered from the emotional and mental abuse her husband has put her through. One day she enters the tattoo shop her brothers own and her life is changed from that moment in the form of a gorgeous younger man. Lachlan knows he has found the one when Quinn comes into the tattoo shop he is working at frazzled and at her whits end. And Kinsley, Quinn’s daughter, steals the show for me. She is just so spunky and special. This story is about love, family and believing in yourself. I highly recommend this book!!
In my eyes this is a beautiful book
When I met Quinn in this book, she was not the take no prisoners younger sister I’d come to know through Celeste and Jase in Under The Surface. Nope. She was a sad shadow of her former self.
I found this following passage through Uncle Google, and for me, it perfectly summarised the damage that Quinn was subjected to throughout the term of her marriage to Rick.
“Words have energy and power with the ability to … hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble. … Often we throw around words in jest or perhaps in anger that harm and hurt and create long lasting damage.”
Rick’s words were not throwaway, nor were they in jest. They did not in themselves cause a physical harm to Quinn, but, like a death by 1000 cuts, the verbal abuse suffered by her was continuous, and the accumulation of it all destroyed her sense of self worth. My heart was broken for her.
If there ever was a book boyfriend who could compete with Killian from Nikki’s book, Going Deep, for his beautiful soul and unending patience and determination in building up a broken heart and damaged psyche, it would be Lachlan. Tattooed, Irish, ginger, bearded and oh-so sexy, he was the perfect man for the job of taking on Quinn and her personal demons.
Nikki Ash is the same with the characters and the stories she writes. The patience, understanding of the situation, the feelings of despair and the loss of self were palpable, and so many of us struggle with this on the daily, yet Ms Ash puts it all to words with an air of empathy and understanding. The gentle coaxing back to life of Quinn by the gorgeous Lachlan was done in a way that we all identify with; one step forward, two steps back, and all within the safety and support of Quinn’s wider family and friends. I loved the banter and the witty back and forth of these characters, and my heart was completely taken with Quinn’s little girl, Kinsley.
Kinsley is all of our daughters wrapped up in one precocious and bossy package, and in remembering my own daughter standing with her hand on her cocked hip, I laughed at Kinsley’s attitude in demanding payment for cuss words, and, her hilarious petulance when Lachlan in turn demanded payment from her for reciting her mother’s own words !
While reading this book, I felt every emotion from guttedness (I’ve decided that’s a word) and heartbreak through to exaltation and heartfelt happiness when Quinn starts to realise that she is truly seen as a beauty through the eyes of the man who loves her and her daughter. 5 stars for this beautiful emotional journey of strength and love.
Through His Eyes is a beautiful book about finding oneself and learning that you are enough. Quinn Crawford has been through hell and the last thing she wants is a relationship, her only focus is her daughter, Kinsley. Strength comes in many different forms and Quinn is strong in a different way. The way her ex- husband hurt her could’ve left her bitter or angry but, instead she focused her energy on on being the best mother she can to her daughter. Quinn is my favorite heroine because I love that she’s sassy, shy and vulnerable. Because of her past, Quinn struggles with insecurities about not being enough. I think a lot of people have felt like they aren’t enough. Not skinny or pretty enough that it’s easy to relate to Quinn. I also love how she makes Lachlan work for her and her love. Lachlan is the most swoon worthy hero ever!! The way he loves Quinn is awe inspiring and the gentle way that he loves Kinsley is so beautiful to watch. What I loved most about Lachlan is that he never gives up on Quinn, no matter how hard she makes it for him to love her. He just simply loves her the way that she is.
4.5 “You are Enough” Stars!
Nikki Ash has a way of drawing you in, keeping you interested and pulling at your heartstrings while delivering a story that you just FEEL. Her characters are real, you can relate to them. Her plots aren’t forced, they just flow. I think of all her characters so far, I felt connected to Quinn the most. She was strong, yet weak. Confident, yet insecure. As a single mom with the support of her brothers (Love them), she rocked. Lachlan brought out the best in her, I loved his persistence and patience , the way he was with Mini-Q , but especially the way he made Quinn feel she was ENOUGH.
Let me start by saying that no one writes single parent romances like Ms. Nikki Ash!!!! She hit this one out of the park again. You can feel so many emotions within every page. It was amazing to see a woman (Quinn) that was dragged so low to be risen to the highest of highs and discover not only is she more than enough but she is worthy and deserving. Added bonus was Kingsley, the absolute cutest munchkin with all that sass. Lachlan (insert heart eyes here) was absolutely everything!!!!!! He was charismatic, sweet, patient and so very gorgeous. Nikki’s books are such easy reads but come with the most powerful messages.
Finished this book yesterday and I am STILL experiencing its telling. One word to describe this story would be “YUM”. Of course I can’t just leave it at one word so let me tell you more. Lol.
This book is a single mom, older woman, younger man romance. I have never read a book where the two main characters JUST talking are so darn SEXXXYYY. Eek! I am DY-ING thinking about it.
HOLY HOTNESS how can you not love a twenty-something guy, Irish accent with TATTOOS. Swoon! Yes my mouth is watering. His name is Lachlan. OMG yes Ms. Ash you had me at his name.
Quinn is my girl though. She is late thirties with a sweet little girl, Willow, who is adorable. Quinn is really dealing with some self esteem issues due to her ex. I am am NOT sorry that dude is dead. Yep kind’a harsh but I don’t care. Read the first part of this story and you will agree. I love experiencing Quinn’s journey of trying to change the negative scripts in her head and learning to like herself again.
Lachlan is sexy, sweet, and persistent with Quinn. His appreciation of Quinn and all her curves makes me more than happy. When he calls her daughter Mini-Q, my ovaries exploded.
Quinn’s family is amazing and a beautiful addition to this story. Her backstory with her two protective big brothers is so touching.
Yikes I could talk about this book forever. Truthfully, I have only hit the tip of the iceberg on all the wonderful happenings in this story. Sigh. You have to read it. SO GOOD! It is deserving of all five stars and more. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO
I loved this book! This story have me all the feels. The tears, laughter, frustration and the swoon. This is a Single Parent and age gap story. There is just something about Quinn’s story that just felt so real and relatable. I was sucked in right away and went through all of Quinn’s emotions as she tried to get back to the person she used to be with the help of Lachlan. It was heartbreaking to see what happened to Quinn to see how an upbeat family person she was in On The Surface to a woman in a loveless marriage to a man who would tear her down. When Quinn meets Lachlan the connection between these two are instant. Love Lachlan and how he tries to show Quinn what a sexy beautiful woman she is. Leaves me hopeful and hope to one day find my Lachlan. I loved this story and the characters. I just can’t get enough of the characters and it leaves me wanting more.
I won a copy and volunteered to leave a review.
Through His Eyes is a book that many of us maybe able to relate to, whether it is for us bigger women, the single mom or the older woman who catches the eye of a younger man it shows that it is okay to have those insecurity issues and when the time is right a special someone will come into your life and show you that you are you and are perfect just the way you are. You not only fall in love with the story and the characters, but you fall in love with the Forbidden Ink crew as well.
Quinn may be sassy and strong but has some insecurity issues for good reasons and you will see why. She is a single mom who is determined to make this on her own. Oh my, Willow (Mini-Q) is not only cute, but smart and funny. Lachlan or as I like to think (Latch on) cause we all want a piece of him ha-ha is not only a hottie but is determined to show Quinn that he is so not “him” and he will be there for her whether she just wants to be friends or more. I love the insta-connection he has with Mini-Q.
Lachlan and the Forbidden Ink crew are not only there for Quinn, but it shows how much they care for her and Willow with some actions that were done while still making it look like Quinn made the decision (best way I can say this without any spoilers). There were some shocking moments in this book (good/bad), but that ending really captures your heart. I highly recommend this book for those of you who love older woman/younger men, tattoo hotties, the single mom or close family/friend bonds.
What an absolutely gorgeous story! Told with such warmth and sense of love and family, it was a joy from start to finish. Well written, great characters, a beautiful love story, it has gone to the top of my feel good reads!
The book brings in some hard issues to start with and they inform many of the events that occur. I am pleased that Nikki did not sugarcoat the impact of the negativity that Quinn has faced.
Lachlan is an absolute star. Can I have him please? He is delicious! And so good for Quinn! He is written with such sympathy and it is impossible not to fall in love with him.
I am a fan of Nikki Ash and this book has been an absolute pleasure to read
