The moment I saw her walk through the door of Forbidden Ink, I knew she was the one. With her wide hips, thick thighs, and perfect breasts, she’s every man’s wet dream. Add to that her dark, soulful eyes, pouty lips, and a body covered in gorgeous art, and I knew I needed to make her mine. She’s a walking contradiction of sass and strength and determination, hidden by insecurity and self-doubt. … insecurity and self-doubt. She’s everything I could ever want or need, but she doesn’t see what I see.
I want to take away her pain. To be the one to make her laugh, to make all her dreams come true. I need to prove to her that I’m not him, that no matter what, I’ll be right there beside her. Loving her.
If only she could see herself through my eyes, she would understand we were made for each other.

Beaten down emotionally by her husband, Quinn has lots of bruises no one can see. But it is not until she finds out she is pregnant does she realize how bad he s getting. When a freak accident makes her a widow before she can tell him about the baby, Quinn finally can stand on her own two feet and is ready to raise the baby alone. But some scars are harder to get rid of than others and when Laclan enters her life she continues to feel unworthy and ugly. Can the love of a good man break the hold her dead husband has on her? Or will she never let another man into her heart ever again? From the very first page to the very last the reader is taken on an emotional roller coaster ride that they do not want to get off. Loved the characters, loved the storyline and the connection between Quinn and Laclan can be felt throughout the book.
This is, without a doubt, my favorite book of this series!!!! I didn’t see it coming!!! The emotion from both main characters was so raw. I loved everything about it!! We don’t get too many stories where the heroine is older than the hero and the difference is pretty significant, and it is such a treat when the representation of it is done right. And I can tell you that Quinn and Lachlan’s story is just so perfect.
4.5 “You Are Enough” Stars
I was so enthusiastic about starting my read of Through His Eyes after the epilogue of On the Surface left me with lots of questions about Quinn. This single mom, age gap romance certainly reached all my expectations. This novel was sweet and emotional mixed with moments of sexiness.
Nikki Ash knows how to create charming, dreamy heroes and Lachlan is without a doubt part of this category. The man has a bad boy appearance, but he’s so much more than meets the eyes. He has a heart of gold. He’s so easily gone for Quinn from their first meeting only. His pursuit of her to prove that she’s the only one he sees is truly mesmerizing. He helps her rebuilt her confidence in herself. Kinsley is just the cutest little girl with all that sassiness. Her easy bond with Lachlan is too beautiful and had me smiling so wide! Together they form such a lovely duo.
I felt so bad for Quinn losing herself in her abusive marriage and changing so much. I was so glad though to see she got herself a new man who sees her strength and beauty! He makes her feel special as any woman should feel.
It was refreshing to read a book with an age gap with the woman being older. I haven’t read a lot of them, but this one was undoubtedly amazing. Age is just a number and it’s proven into the pages of this lovely romance! Through His Eyes was another read I couldn’t put down with all the cherished characters I’ve met since through the Imperfect Love Series. This novel can certainly be read as a standalone, but it’s even more engaging when you know the love stories of the supporting protagonists! This series is one I highly recommend. I hope to see more books set in this world. I wouldn’t say no to a book about Jax or Skyla!
This is a story about a single mother, Quinn (almost 40) who has some serious self-esteem issues that prevent her to really live to the fullest. She meets a wonderful, younger man who is everything she ever wanted but her past and the age difference stand in her way.
What I loved the most about her is that she felt so real. I think her inner thoughts are similar to almost all women.
Lachlan (27) is swoon worthy hero, wise beyond his years, a huge heart and is super hot. He was persistent but without being pushy (some men can learn from him)
The relarionship between Lachlan and little Q (Quinn’s daughter) was adorable. I do think the girl acted older than she was.
Quinn’s growth during the story was beautiful to read.
This story was sweet, raw, emotional, funny and had had an important message in it.
I really enjoyed this story, it was my first Nikki Ask book but already put her other books on my TBR.
Through His Eyes is book 4 in the Imperfect Love series written by the talented author Nikki Ash. Words can’t describe how I felt when I was reading this book. The author did an outstanding job writing such deep and emotional story. Lachlan & Quinn’s story made me laugh, cry and scream. But reading through their life journey also made me hopeful because at the end everybody just want to feel appreciated and need to hear we are enough. The story line is uplifting and teaches us that We are enough!!Can’t wait for Declan’s story!!
4.5 Stars
My first Nikki Ash book and I want more. While Quinn’s story starts out rocky to say the least, it has such a beautiful message. It was heartbreaking to see her so beat down. TBH I’m glad that was such a small fraction of the book. But watching Lachlan teaching her how to love herself again gave me all. The. Feels. I cannot wait to dive into Ms. Ash’s catalog.
Through His Eyes proves exactly why age is just a number and it doesn’t matter as long as you have love and respect! This couple has insane chemistry and will have you all hot and bothered in no time. Lachlan is such a cool guy and a calming presence for Quinn. He brings her out of her brokenness and appreciates her for all she is inside and out. I also adore how much he loves spending time with her daughter. You need to read this book for mini-Q, the tattoos, the O’s and the fine print alone. This story has heartache, but it is full of so much hope and healing. Any person who ever doubted if they were enough, should read this book. Lachlan stole my heart and made me wish he was mine. This is one of my all time favorite age-gap stories I’ve ever read!

I love Nikki Ash’s books…. and Through His Eyes was another winner.
Featuring characters from the Imperfect Love series, while being a standalone, this was a fab read.
Lachlan was a really great character, patient, thoughtful, honest and so smitten with Quinn (and Q jnr). I loved how once he set his mind to something he gave it his all, which was exactly what he needed to do to get Quinn to give him the time of day…
Quinn, gods she hadn’t had it easy and even though she had a fabulous family he’d been so messed up that she couldn’t see what was in front of her and didn’t believe in herself. My heart hurt for her at times, even when she realised what she was doing she couldn’t help herself… and her mini-me was adorable!
This story was really well written, with likeable characters, heat, fun, a lot of sweetness and it was great to catch up with favourites from previous books.
I binge read and hardly put the kindle down all night.
A definite 5* recommended read.
This book was amazingly delicious! I have to say, I don’t feel there are as many age gap romances with the main gal as the “old” one that I have felt were done well. This one was extraordinary!! The character development was spot on and believable. The slow build up of the Quinn’s character was perfectly timed. Her ups and downs believable and all too real. Lachlan falling hard for her so quickly and with such an adorable personality rounded things out perfectly. The hiccups experienced showed the heartache Quinn faced in her previous lifetime, one I am glad she was able to escape. As you move through this book, you are cheering for Quinn and Lachlan and wish they were a real life couple you could have a drink with. I will definitely pick up the other stories connected to these two.
Brave & Fiercely Honest but Emotionally Disconnected… “Through His Eyes” by Nikki Ash is an age gap, single parent, abuse survivor romance story. It is a, second chance at life, tale of sorts featuring Quinn, a survivor of emotional and verbal abuse at the hands of her former husband Rick. In the aftermath enters male protagonist Lachlan, a twenty-something tattoo artist wise beyond his years, who falls madly in love with the now fragile Quinn and her daughter Kinsley. It is a deeply multifaceted story full of intelligent, complex characters.
It is a story that shines a brave and honest light on the very real, long standing affects of emotional and verbal abuse. Something I wholeheartedly applaud!
However, while the overall message conveyed from this book was a vitally important one, I wish it had been more emotionally saturated. Here Ash is technically on point. Her writing is carefully constructed to portray all the right actions, reactions, all the right sentiments, day-to-day motions, and internal emotional journeys. But it never quite attaches itself to your soul the way it should. There is an emotional disconnect that has it coming across more like an essay about life after abuse rather than a true love story. As a result, this book reads more clinically than it should, almost cold at times. It sadly did not relay to me any of the true emotions contained with the chaos such acts of abuse being portrayed would produce. It didn’t kick me in the gut as it should have, as other, similar books have. And it was honestly a damn shame.
It’s a shame because the frame-working is wonderful and has the potential for being a true soul wrenching journey. But it just never engages at this level and remains an empty shell, cut far too short. You’re never given a full sense of who Quinn is as a person. You never truly feel Quinn’s struggle or understand what she’s fighting so hard to get back to. Nor are you allowed to see things from the full perspective hinted at throughout.
Ash takes great care to inlay a bevy of peripheral characters such as Rick’s mother, Lachlan’s mother and ex-girlfriend, etc.. All which contribute intricately to the building-up or tearing-down of Quinn’s self-esteem. But they’re never fully followed through with, cutting short the overarching journey Quinn and Lachlan are on both individually and as a couple. And after twenty-five chapters of careful lead-up, I was expecting a conclusion as rich and enlightenment filled as the rest. But it’s snipped short instead. It was disappointing and left me feeling wholly unsatisfied.
This book is honestly one of the most powerful I have ever read. The love story is sweet, tough, and able to break down walls I didn’t even realize I had. I have been a fan of Nikki Ash’s writing for awhile, and this book raised the bar for everything that will come after. Characters are believable, likeable, and will make you want to fight their battles to ensure they come out safe on the other side. The storyline is what we all want when we are reading romance. Lachlan is my favorite book boyfriend ever. He will truly make you see that you are enough, and give you all the feels. This book has stuck with me for months, and was truly a confidence booster, life changer, and exactly what I needed. Go read it, Nikki will give you life!
I loved this age gap romance. Filled with rich emotions and sizzling chemistry, Quinn and Lachlan’s story stole into my heart and swept me away. Prepare yourself for an avalanche of feels as these two amazing characters find a love that will totally have you swooning! Heartfelt and sometimes heart breaking, this epic romance should not be missed.
I loved Quinn & Lachlans story! This one became one of my favorites by Nikki Ash!
I love that this story is about a bigger older girl and a hot younger guy who loves all her curves. I also love that Lachlan helps Quinn love herself again. This whole book was just amazing!
Nikki Ash definitely writes great stories but with this one, she really made me connect with the characters and love every word!
This story is beautifully written, inspiring and as ahh the feels. Nikki Ash as done it again with Quinn and Lachlan’s story. Quinn and Lachlan have a beautiful connection. Lachlan brought Quinn back to the living. Quinn was loving her life for her daughter while trying to find the parts of herself that she lost form her ex husband. Lachlan shows her that she isn’t who she was told she was. That she a beautiful, amazing woman and mother.
This story is filled a message of Hope and never giving up. I found myself connecting with these characters and wishing so had a Lachlan in my life. This book and all over Nikki’s books are a must read.
Through His Eyes, is a sweet and a adorable read.
I didn’t care for the beginning, not because of the story, but because of the writing style. Some information was basically on repeat. Making me force myself to read through it, and hoping it would get better. Which it did!
“…The thing about loving someone, being in a relationship, is finding the yin to your yang. When she feels weak, you be her strength. When you’re lost, she’ll be your beacon. When she feels insecure, you lift her up. Love is always enough, but you have to be willing to love even harder during those tough moments. Fight for the both of you when she’s given up.”
I liked the plot, I liked the characters. I adored Kinsley and Lachlan’s relationship!
Best quote ever:
“Blood doesn’t make a family. Love does.”
This is one of those reads I found myself reading without intending to. I was just going through some pages and I got hooked. The first chapter started quite cliché (as the main character said herself) but then it evolved into something much more.
It’s a great story about overcoming all kinds of obstacles and learning how to love oneself and let oneself be loved.
Lachlan was just amazing!!! Sweet and so manly at the same time. Without him, the book wouldn’t have been the same. The author did a great job with him because he balanced the whole plot.
Do you know the feeling of wanting a book so freaking bad that when you have the chance to read it you might pass out? Yep… That was me when this baby arrived.
I’ve been following this author for a while now and since the first book from this series was released I knew that I needed more… And Dayum…
Nikki Ash knows what she’s doing
Not only can she give us a steamy story but also envelope it in a web of feelings and so much more.
Through His Eyes is her latest release and tells the stories of Quinn and Lachlan.
Quinn had had a fair share of abuse when she was a little girl until the day her brothers took over. After that, she was a happy girl. When she got married she thought that she had found her Prince Charming but instead…
Lachlan is a tattoo artist that loves his job. He’s a bit reserved but with a huge heart. One look at Quinn…
This book was so intense and so breathtaking that my heart almost burst…
It was another amazing book that stole my heart.
Superb plot, very well written, super engaging and intense. It was amazing to see how our insecurities can change the way we see things.
This book presented us with love, loyalty, family bonds, desire as well as abuse, madness, drama, and betrayal.
There were parts of the story that I wanted to slap someone so ha5d but then there were others that I wanted to hold them and promise better days.
It was refreshing to need Kingsley, this kid is sweet and funny. It was great to have news from the other characters from previous books.
I always want to know more and this was perfect.
Nikki, you nailed it as always. This new book was amazing and I am even more in love with all the characters.
What’s next.I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I loved seeing Lachlan help Quinn see her worth. He was an amazing hero and o couldn’t love him anymore then I already do. Quinn was an amazing character, even when she was second guessing her self. Loved seeing some of my favorite characters from this author’s other books. It was like a family reunion. The plot made my heart ache many times because of how Quinn viewed her self. It took a while but then she really embraced who she was and I loved seeing her with her daughter. Single moms are some of my favorite reads and of course this author rocked it.
My only issue at times was a lot of internal dialogue and being told what happened instead of sometimes being shown. I can understand why it was done that way, but I’m the type of reader that love banter and dialogue between the characters and seeing the characters live their day to day lives (instead of time jumps). This is just my quark and in no way makes this a bad book, because it was awesome and hooked me. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Amazing book. This author storytelling is amazing.
Another really amazing and totally addicting story that will have your emotions all over the place with these two. I absolutely and completely fell in love with Quinn and Lachlan from the very first page and could not get enough of them. She is a single mom and is older than him but to him that doesn’t matter because she is everything he wants in a woman and he won’t give up so easily with her. Just amazing and this book is everything!
