Throne of Lies will be FREE from October 11th to October 15th!I was called a prodigal son.A scion of Midas.I believed it. Why wouldn’t I?Everything my father touched turned to gold. The proof was all around me.Luxury cars.Elite schools.A billion-dollar business.Even my girlfriend, a Park Avenue Princess.I reigned from a throne of lies.My fall from grace . . . wasn’t graceful at all.
Nothing like scandal and reality to sucker punch a budding relationship! Jolie and Tripp are brought together through their fathers, who are business partners. When the two meet again there is an instant connection. First loves are usually unforgettable, but unfortunately for Jolie and Tripp, not in a good way. This was a great way to kick off their story. You can’t help but be on Jolie and Tripp’s side of this story. Sometimes adults just suck, and that lesson is learned the hard way. I can’t wait for Legacy of Lies!!
GAH! Throne of Lies was absolutely amazing. I love how the author set up this series in this prequel where we see the start of Tripp and Jolie’s romantic relationship – their initial butterflies, stirrings of love and connection. It was a breath of fresh air as I loved seeing them so innocently happy. But when drama unfolds and their fathers’ empires crashes, it is pure exploding fireworks. It’s too bad that their relationship is caught in the crossfire.
I loved the story and the characters and the delicious taste we received in Throne of Liesand seriously can’t wait to dive deep into Legacy of Lies. Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula
This was an intriguing set up! Jolie and Tripps dad’s are business partners of the Park Avenue variety. Jolie is a debutante and Tripp is her date, but they are instantly more than that. There’s a connection here that’s more than physical, more than friendship. As their relationship progresses so does the stress between their dads until the big fall out happens and life as they know it is no more. Excited to find out what 10 years in the future holds for these former lovebirds!
If I could give a Novella more than 5 stars, Throne of Lies is the book! I always say that Novella’s hardly get me intrigued enough that has me begging for more. This prequel was a perfect start for Tripp and Jolie. Talk about family drama at its finest! So much suspense and a whole lot of heat factor wrapped up in a pretty little bow! I am excited to see what their journey come to in Legacy of Lies. I am a huge ball of excitement and cannot wait to start reading that book. Tara Leigh is giving a new genre for Rockstar romance!
10 Novella Stars!!!!
Oh Lawd I’m so in love with this little prequel. Tripp and Jolie are captivating. Throne of Lies is enthralling and I was so taken with it. The story, the plot, and how it was written are just amazing.
Tripp and Jolie meet due to her having been invited to be a Debutante. Tripp, her fathers business partners son, agrees to be her escort. And when they meet it’s an instant connection. Neither wanting to be there, but both fulfilling their expectations. Their love is real, its raw and its deep. So when their worlds shatter, the emotions are felt in the deepest parts of the soul.
I cant wait to read the rest of Tripp and Jolie’s journey!
Throne of Lies has done exactly what a prequel should do it has left me excited for Legacy of Lies.
This was the perfect introduction to Tripp and Jolie it was great to learn how hey knew each other and what the family connections were. Jolie Chapman is about to make her social debut and her father has partnered her up with his business partners son Remington Montgomery III better known as Tripp, neither have much interest in the social scene but if they have to be there they may as well have some fun…….
A fast paced captivating beautifully written YA romance between two privileged teens on the New York Social Scene. Sizzling chemistry and an instant attraction helps form this deep all consuming love they feel for each but then their life’s are torn apart by something beyond their control and now we wait for Legacy of Lies and I’m so pleased it’s not too far away. Loved this quick read.
Wow! Such an amazing start for this new series.
This novella was just juicy enough to grab and hold my attention. Now I am ready to read Legacy of Lies. I will begin reading it as soon as I finished typing up the review and posting it.
The author was able to put so much into just 100 pages and to me, that is just incredible. Those pages were filled with passion and emotion and I love it.
One thing I really hope is answered in LoL is what Tripp’s text message to Jolie said. I NEED to know!
This is the prequel to the book Legacy of Lies. This book lies down the setting, ten years prior to the main story, so the author can involve us into the story and make us rush to read the sequel. This first book delves into the meeting between Jolie and Tripp, we get the background of their families and their routinary lives, ultra rich and entitled, Park Avenue elite, a world of first wives, trophy wives, men who play with money and mistresses, and their children are more pawns than cherished. Jolie Chapman is about to participate in the New York Debutante Ball, and her parents arranged for Remington Montgomery (Tripp) to be her companion. Tripp is the son of Jolie’s father’s partner in an investment firm. They meet, they like, they lust, fall in love and start a blazing hot romance, with plans for the future. Their ambitions and illusions are high, but then a scandal ensues. The prequel ends in a bang, when their world of affluence explodes and jail beckons.
I loved this novella! The author made a brilliant job hooking us readers into the plot, fall in love with the characters and want to read about their HEA. The story continues with Legacy of Lies, released just five days after this one, thank you author!
Wow! This prequel is blowing my mind. I loved their love story. Young love where you believe anything is possible. Then life changes in minutes, and you wonder what the heck is next!
Wow, this intriguing story of young love and loss, loyalty and betrayal, passion and heartache was so thrilling. This peek into the world where money and power can create an atmosphere of immoral actions and false loyalty, captured my imagination right from the start. Ms. Leigh made me care for Jolie and Tripp so deeply that my heart broke for them both. I can’t wait to read where their lives take them in Book 1: Legacy of Lies!
Tripp and Jolie are from wealthy families. The two meet at a ball and the chemistry is instant between them. A scandal cause so much upheaval in their young lives. How will things turn out? I am eagerly diving into the next book to find out. An excellent start for the duet.
Jolie Chapman is so not happy about her current situation. You can almost feel that emotion coming off the page. I had to give an eye roll when she’s describing the situation. And if I did, I can imagine that she did too. Then I can almost feel the same thing from Remington “Tripp” Montgomery. The light bulb moment came while making plans for the future.
If you could go back in time, would you choose the same path or take a turn at something else? This is a great way to get the reader involved. But it also teases us for what is yet to come. It’s a sweet first adult love story but it’s not without some heat. Our author shows how quickly our lives can change. Nothing is ever a sure thing and that includes our destiny. The story ends on a sad note which means we have to continue with Legacy Of Lies to see if our couple has any chance at happiness. And I’m just glad that I don’t have to wait too long to see what happens.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
ღ This series & its author was recommend to me, & trust me I’ll be forever grateful… I love finding new authors
This prequel was a perfect start for Tripp & Jolie, keep in mind since it is a prequel. It will be very short story
But never the less, this book open your eyes to new world,, The ridiculous rich… The last name of every debutante could be found somewhere on the Forbes 400. Two top names that are most important are Chapman, & Montgomery they will be the main focus
• It was great to get a glimpse of things before Legacy of Lies
& how Jolie & Tripp’s relationship started! It’s crazy how quick the author hooked me on these two characters & I can say that I am completely invested in these characters & can’t wait to see what happens next!
There is so much deceit & lies within
This author & series should be on “one click
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion

Paulette Review
4.5 stars
Tripp and Jolie’s families are connected via the business their fathers run together, but until Jolie needs an escort to the Debutante Ball, she hasn’t really spent a lot of time with Tripp. From the first moment they really start to talk, both start to fall hard and fast. They may be just teenagers about to make the leap into adulthood, but they fall hard and fast for each other- until the unthinkable happens and both their lives are turned upside down. Each expected the other to be their rock to get through difficult times but instead they found nothing but disappointment and betrayal.
I loved the chemistry between these two even at a young age and I can’t wait to see how it all shakes out!
Throne of Lies is book 0.5 in the Legacy of Lies series by Tara Leigh. This is the prequel, the beginning of Tripp and Jolie’s story, both the beautiful beginning to it, and the heartbreaking ending.
Jolie Chapman and Tripp Montgomery’s fathers were partners in a Wall Street Investment Firm. Tripp is nineteen and in his second year of college. Jolie is seventeen, nearly eighteen, and a senior in high school. Both were raised in the lap of luxury, never wanting for anything. It is Jolie’s coming out, her debutante ball and her escort is Tripp, only she doesn’t even know him, barely remembers him. But when he walks in, they are drawn together like the forces of a magnet. Their romance is fast and they both fall hard for each other.
“Jolie Chapman was like the last present you open on Christmas morning, the one that makes all the others pale in comparison. She was a girl worth waiting for, a gift I wanted to take my time opening, enjoying the crackle of the paper, the pull of the ribbon.”
Their short time together was like a fairy tale. Until it all fell apart. The sins of their fathers snatched away their happiness in the blink of an eye.
Holy Wow! This is short but packs a huge punch. Tara’s writing is so fantastic. I was instantly swept away in this. I can’t wait to see what comes next for Tripp and Jolie in book one, Legacy of Lies.
Oh wow! I don’t even know where to begin. This book just sucks you right in and leaves you wanting more! Throne of Lies is the Prequel to Legacy of Lies. It must be read first as it does end in a cliffhanger. Throne of Lies takes place 10 years before Legacy of Lies and while in this novella, the two main characters are college age, I wouldn’t categorize this as a YA/NA novella.
Remington “Tripp” Montgomery III and Jolie Chapman are thrown together at a debutant ball. Their parents are business partners running a successful Wall Street firm. The two didn’t want to attend the ball, but they immediately hit it off and quickly fall into a romantic relationship. They are a sweet couple and are so good together, but things beyond their control come crashing down. For such a short book, this Throne of Lies is packed with young love, turmoil, and lies.
Throne of Lies is yet another book from this author that I love. Tara Leigh is a talented writer that creates wonderful characters and good storylines. I am looking forward to the next book.
I received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily leave this review.
5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review
I loved this book. I loved the characters. I loved the words. I loved the drama. This novella had it all. Jolie and Tripp were everything. I love these two as a couple. I loved watching them fall, but it was hard to see them fall at the same time.
I’ve become a huge fan of Tara Leigh’s. Her writing sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I love the feeling of being in the book watching everything happen. Tara has a way of keeping me on edge with her books, craving more. Please check out this novella.
