Throne of Lies will be FREE from October 11th to October 15th!I was called a prodigal son.A scion of Midas.I believed it. Why wouldn’t I?Everything my father touched turned to gold. The proof was all around me.Luxury cars.Elite schools.A billion-dollar business.Even my girlfriend, a Park Avenue Princess.I reigned from a throne of lies.My fall from grace . . . wasn’t graceful at all.
I enjoyed reading Throne of Lies by Tara Leigh, a prequel to Legacy of Lies. Jolie is a beautiful seventeen year old who is about to make her debut, and Tripp is to be her escort, chosen because their fathers are business par. Little did their parents know that the chemistry between the two of them would be so strong that they couldn’t help themselves.
This novella was a quick and steamy read but I really appreciated the way Jolie and Tripp became friends, not just lovers, there was definitely an innocence to their being together because of her virginity but also because of Tripp’s tenderness towards her, wanting to protect her from anything that may hurt her.
The story ends shortly after Jolie and Tripp discover that both of their fathers are accused of fraud. The way the prequel ends, you know you’re in for an emotional ride in Legacy of Lies. Ms. Leigh wrote a wonderfully moving story that is not to be missed. I highly recommend this story to other readers.

I love Tara Leigh and her Nothing but Trouble series. So, when I saw Throne of Lies, I jumped at the chance to read another one of Ms. Leigh’s books. I must admit that I didn’t even read the description of the story! I just knew it would be another great book, and boy was it ever!
Throne of lies is a prequel to Legacy of Lies, which is the first book in the Legacy of Lies series. This short story introduces us to Tripp and Jolie, their families, as well as their relationship. I quickly became engrossed in this story and couldn’t read fast enough. The characters were engaging, and I completely fell for Tripp! He is just so yummy! I cannot wait to read the next book to find out what happens next!
A Fabulous Story!

I give you Tripp and Jolie –
“The next generation of Manhattan royalty – Prince and Princess of Park Avenue”
I devoured this in one sitting – Could not put down!
This was such a beautiful read – One of this years Must-Reads!
Throne of Lies is the perfect introduction to our lead characters and how their world of crowns and tiaras came crashing down at their feet.
Tripp is the perfect boy next door *sigh* except his home is a castle and his world is a gold facade. I fell for him the first time we got to meet him. Even tempered, respectful. Full of life. He was still grounded in the “real world’ despite his families financial status.
Jolie, how do I describe her? She just brings such a warm feel to the story-line. She is sweet, yet, not a doormat. Intelligent. But like Tripp seeking approval in a world of haves and have-nots.
The entire cast is vivid and easy to connect with – I spotted my antagonists right from the get! The story-line flows flawlessly – easy to follow and engaging. Ink-Slinger provided my copy
Ah the life of the elite, beauty – wealth – just about everything you could ask for, it’s something most wish they had but after reading this book I am not sure everyone would still want it. The New York International Debutante Ball is about to begin so lets pull up a chair and see how things unfold.
Jolie is a beautiful seventeen year old who is about to make her debut, this sounds so old fashioned it’s hard to believe this tradition is still carried on but it is, and Tripp is to be her escort, he was chosen because their fathers are business partners and the Debutantes are not supposed to be dating their escorts, little did their dads know that the chemistry between the two of them would be so strong they couldn’t help themselves.
This novella was a quick and steamy read but I really appreciated the way Jolie and Tripp became friends, not just lovers, there was definitely an innocence to their being together because of her virginity but also because of Tripp’s tenderness towards her, wanting to protect her from anything that may hurt her.
There is a definite HOLY SHIT moment towards the end of this book that will leave you stunned so please be warned you will want to have book two handy in order to jump right in to see what happens next. Happy Reading!!!
I couldn’t put down this book. I loved reading about Tripp and Joely. How their story was unfolding while their world is crashing down. I just one clicked the next book….
Is one blazing inferno of everything you need!!
Talk about getting your hands on that perfect quick read! Just enough to make you salivate and beg for more!!! Yes, it’s this one!!
Throne of Lies by Tara Leigh was the perfect look into Tripp and Jolie’s beautiful beginning and their heartbreakingly tragic ending…at least for now. The moment I began reading this prequel I couldn’t put it down and ended up reading it in about half an hour. I loved these two right from the very beginning and my heart broke from the pain they both had to experience at such a young age. Since this is only a prequel, readers get a brief glimpse into how their story began and now I can’t wait to dive into Legacy of Lies to see if these two ever get their happily ever after!
Oh young love!!! What a great start and I am dying over here to read book 2 now. This book set up the dynamics and the characters in the most magical of ways that I was living along with the characters. The relationship and chemistry between the two main characters is so intense and for being such a short book really places the reader in touch with their emotions. Oh how my heart is breaking right now……
It’s debutante season for the crème de la crème of New York society.
Welcome to the Upper East Side where appearances are everything, but you never really know what lies beneath the shiny facade.
With their fathers being business partners, it was inevitable that Remington Owen Montgomery III, Tripp to his friends, and Jolie Chapman would be thrown together for the season – regardless of their feelings on the matter.
The Heir Apparent and The Park Avenue Princess are not titles they aspire to. Despite what people may think, the money and status have not yet corrupted these young minds. It surprised me just how down to earth they both were, but their inherent goodness shines through.
As the two young lovers get swept away in the bubble of first love, the world around them comes crashing down.
The devastation will be felt far and wide with Tripp and Jolie left floundering in the ruins.
The future no longer looks so rosy. Can they hold onto each other in the interim?
*snorts*
Yeah, what do you think?
*covers ears*
No need to shout, peeps!
*smirks*
Bet you’re glad that Legacy of Lies is available for your delectation!
Go forth and download…
I was given an arc in exchange of my honest review.
This is the story of Tripp and Jolie as teenagers and how they fell in love.
But tragedy and lies will crush them.
“I was hers and she would be mine. For now, forever.”
What a way to introduce myself to a new author. What a way to introduce to another book that will make lose my mind. Young love told in the most stunning way. Heart thrilling storyline that will grab your heart and twist it. Amazing characters you will never forget. Throne of Lies is a fantastically laid out romance that will mess with your emotions and explores a burning young love between Tripp Montgomery and Jolie Chapman. You are introduced to two characters that will ache your heart and connect your soul. I can’t wait to read more about them.
An Intriguing & Clever 3.5 Star Read!
Jolie Chapman has been invited to attend the International Debutante Ball.. She’s told, to her dismay, that her Father’s business Partners son will be her Escort!! Remington ‘Tripp’ Montgomery(iii) & Jolie barely know each other. He’s a couple of years older than her & they never attended the same School’s so rarely crossed path’s plus both of their Fathers are workaholics
Once they meet again and start talking, it becomes quite clear that neither is who they had assumed & anticipated them to be!! They get on really well, are wildly attracted to each other but more than that – they understand each other on a level that others probably never could! The pressure their names put them under, the risk of being used to get to their Fathers or Internships etc They continue to build on their connection & friendship over the month leading up to the Ball
This novella sets up Tripp & Jolie’s initial love story beautifully, for what I’m sure will be heartache & recriminations, in the main story of ‘Legacy Of Lies’!! I’m moving on to that next & I’ll admit to feeling some trepidation Lol

This is the first book I have read from this author. The story between Tripp and Jolie was great. This prequel kept me reading, and the ending! I now need to read the next book.
Oh my gosh! Throne of Lies is a quick shot to the heart comparable to a roller coaster. It starts the story of Tripp and Jolie when they are pushed together by their high society families. They quickly fall for each other and the story ends on a huge cliffhanger that leads into the next book, Legacy of Lies. The ending of this book had me wanting to throw my Kindle across the room. I couldn’t get to Legacy of Lies fast enough. Tara Leigh has started an amazing story full of heat and angst and I need more!
“She was a goddess spread before me, and I was about to make her mine.”
Throne Of Lies is a nice prequel that gives you the basic knowledge you need to have to understand the main characters better in Legacy Of Lies. It basically shows the beginning and the end of Tripp and Jolie. You get a first impression what the emotions will be like in the main story and what caused the rift.
However I was a little disappointed in this novella. I felt distant to the characters, like I was only the observer to the things that happened. I didn’t feel the chemistry nor the attraction. Knowing what Tara is usually capable to create, I expected a flash of sparks, blinding me.
“She was sunshine and sin all wrapped up in one perfect package.”
And I question a little the whole time-framing. I think it’s not really believable to fall in that kind of love that binds Tripp and Jolie within two to three months while being a teen. And I missed a lot more of their interaction: like what made them really fall for each other except the “love at first sight” thing.
Maybe it’s just me. Just because I didn’t feel it, it doesn’t mean you won’t. So if you’d like to read Legacy Of Lies, I highly recommend starting with this prequel, as it gives you a great insight of what happened to Tripp and Jolie 10 years before.
EEP!! What an amazing book!! Tara Leigh brought all the feels with this one!! I cannot wait for Legacy of Lies!! LOVED!!!
4.5 Great Start Stars!
An amazing introduction to Tripp and Jolie, I was drawn into their world, they are characters you just can’t help to fall in love with. There was one heck of a cliff hanger, but it just leaves you longing for more
My heart is pounding and I’m in a complete state of shock…
I can’t freaking believe it.
A quick fairytale romance. A budding young love. It was supposed to be forever. Forever didn’t last very long…

Wow! I am beyond blown away with Tara Leigh’s storytelling abilities. Throne of Lies is a prequel to Legacy of Lies… it’s a novella—a quick read—but one that will leave you absolutely DYING to get your hands on Legacy of Lies! I considered myself to be truly blessed to get the chance to read an advanced reader copy of the book for my blog and didn’t have to wait between the releases to read these books. Honestly, having read them, it would have been straight up torture to wait for the release of Legacy of Lies.
I loved everything about Throne of Lies… and I do not usually like novellas. Yet, the story, the characters—Tripp and Jolie—and the emotions of the story were outstanding. Tara Leigh is a gifted storyteller and her skills as an author are apparent even in the 100(apx) pages that is Throne of Lies. The quality of the writing is beautiful, and I read both books back to back and straight through the night because I was so captivated. There were a few key differences between Throne of Lies and Legacy of Lies. Throne of Lies is a sexy, slow burn young adult romance. It takes place 10 years before Legacy of Lies which is a second chance, enemies-to-lovers romance. The angst of Throne of Lies is lighter but the emotions are still strong and well developed between Tripp and Jolie. Also, while you can read Legacy of Lies as a standalone, Throne of Lies is not a standalone – the conclusion to Tripp and Jolie’s romance requires you to read Legacy as well. Also, reading Throne of Lies and Legacy of Lies as a duet will only heighten your enjoyment of the storyline. So, no, you don’t have to read them both. But I guarantee you are going to want to because these books are going to sink their hooks into you and it wouldn’t surprise me if you also were compelled to read them both start to finish! If you’re new to Tara Leigh, I highly, HIGHLY, recommend you not miss out on Throne of Lies and Legacy of Lies. It’s simply amazing and I can not recommend the books enough.
Wow, what a great introduction to what will surely be a thrilling storyline going forwards. I can’t wait to read on with Legacy of Lies.
