Tara Leigh starts of this series with a short and quick read that will leave you desperate for more. Thankfully the wait between books is only days apart.
Young, elite and living the life straight out of a fairytale. I fell in love with these two very quickly. Tara paints a pretty picture just to pull the rug out and I’m loving everything about it.
In this prequel to legacy of lies we have a story of young love and passion. Tripp and jolie are paired together for the debutante ball by their fathers who are partners in business. Tripp and jolie have known each for years ,but haven’t spent much time together. When these two meet again theirs a instant attraction and what follows is a awakening of two young lovers, but as they are falling in love it comes to light that their fathers are involved in a ponzi scheme and the first casualty is Tripp and jolie being pulled apart and the end of this new found love. I love what I’ve read so far, well written and a great storyline as well.
Wow, I think I had a tear in my eye after reading the ending. Young love ripped apart by greedy fathers. Tara’s writing bring you to the edge of your sit and leave you holding on. Make sure you have the next book handy because you will need to know what happens next.
I knew this would be a quick read but even for a quick read it’s so good. You have the sweet young romance of our two characters and you want to see it blossom but then everything falls apart around them. I read this so quick that I had to pick up the next book to see what comes of their love.
I went through a plethora of emotions as I read Legacy of Lies, along with its prequel, Throne of Lies. Jolie and Tripp had an intense connection from the start and Ms. Leigh did a fantastic job of making readers feel that. Legacy of Lies goes in a completely different direction than I had anticipated but I loved every single word. It’s sexy, emotional, heartbreaking, and heartwarming. These were my first books from Tara Leigh but they definitely won’t be the last.
Throne of Lies is a prequel to the Legacy of Lies series.
In this book, we get to know the main characters of the series and the events that first brought them together to separate them later.
Jolie Chapman and Tripp Montgomery are children to the co-owners of one of the most influential investment companies on Wall Street.
It’s funny that it was their fathers who get them together in the first place – Tripp was asked to escort Jolie to the Debutante Ball. Immediate intimacy that connected Jolie and Tripp was amazing. Despite their young age, you can feel the strength of their love.
Unfortunately, young lovers are not allowed to enjoy their first love, because secrets and scams come to light. Through the actions of their own fathers, Jolie and Tripp are separated. As this prequel shows, in the world of influential and rich people nothing is as it looks, and money-hunger and greed have no limits.
The introduction to the series is written PERFECTLY. I absorbed it at a dizzying pace and I can’t wait to read Legacy of Lies!
This is a prequel and wow I was devoted to this story by the end of the first chapter.
This story gave me so many feels and now I cant wait for the next book.
This cover alone wow
Um….. so ….. That just happened! Whew! The was such a sweet and swoon worthy story….. until it wasn’t and I was gutted beyond belief! Tripp and Jolie had this BEAUTIFUL young love thing happening. Tripp was so freaking swoony and very up front with Jolie about his feelings. Then their fathers ruined everything…. and not I need to go so that I can go read Park Avenue Princess to find out what the heck happens next!!!
Let me tell you, this prequel might be short but boy does it pack a lot of mystery and intrigue into it. This book is the beginning of Jolie and Tripp’s love story. The story isn’t just about their romance though. It’s about their rich father’s who run a company together and have deep dark secrets and business that no one thought they were doing. As their secrets are revealed, families are torn apart, shocking allegations are revealed and everything that Jolie and Tripp thought was real comes crumbling down. The ending of the book truly shocked me, I didn’t see that coming and it ripped my heart out. I think Jolie and Tripp have a lot working against them right now but I’m hoping for them to get their happily-ever-after. The beginning of their romance is so sweet and you can just feel the instant chemistry between them. I need to know what happens in the next book. I would highly recommend this book!
From beginning to end, this story will hold you captivated. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what was going to happen next. Jolie is a young debutante, and her life is good, or at least she thought so. When Tripp, her Father’s business partners son, is assigned to escort her to the Ball, she never thought there would be an attraction. But one look is all it took for these two to know they belonged together. Until something happens between their Fathers and the business that changes everything they know about their lives. Jolie and Tripp are young, but claim they are in love, but can their love withstand the craziness that will ensue. While I understand this is a prequel, it holds quite the punch in it. Now I can’t wait to read the next book to find out what happens!!
Throne of Lies is the Prequel to Legacy of Lies by Tara Leigh and it was the perfect introduction to Tripp and Jolie. Tripp and Jolie are both from very wealthy families, their fathers are business partners and Tripp is Jolie escort to the Debutante Ball. These two hit it off straight away and the connection along with the chemistry is a page turner. For a short prequel is really does pack a punch and oh wow that ending was so perfect I dove right into Legacy of Lies. It was a gripping intriguing prequel to awaken those taste buds………..
Ever girl needs a Tripp. This book was my first of Tara’s and I absolutely fell in love and had a book hangover. I thought about this book for a good while after and couldn’t wait to get my teeth into Legacy of Lies.
Tripp and Jolie are 2 great characters to get to know. I loved being able to experience their relationship flourishing. It was beautiful to read and really pulled me in. It gave me all the feels and I have never read so fast in my life. I just page turned until I could find out what happened and ‘watch’ everything unfold with their families.
A fantastic prequel, set 10 years before Legacy of Lies, and it really gives an insight to their relationship and what happened when devestation was upon them.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Tripp and Jolie, and I have read this book several times now. It is my favourite read from this author and I love her writing style which is involving and very easy to read.
Highly recommend this amazing and beautiful story.
When I started reading this book I went blind because I haven’t read the blurb or anything else and I just finished reading it and
I LOVE IT
So glad that I have the Legacy of Lies otherwise I would be grumpy and would message Tara about it for sure.
I love the world created in this book, it had a Gossip Girls vibe with the Debutant Season and all the luxury and fancy things around it. As for the love story, I could not be happier that Jolie and Tripp fell in love with each other but also very sad for what happened with their families and how they had to break apart because of them.
Diving in
Throne of lies is a prequel to Legacy of lies and is very quick read leaving you wanting MORE! Tripp and Jolie’s story is sexy, emotional, and full of angst. Tripp and Jolie are living the fairy tale life until their world crumbles beneath them. This is my first book by Tara Leigh and I can’t wait to read more. I definitely recommend this one!

THRONE OF LIES (Legacy of Lies 0.5)
By Tara Leigh
4.5
Release Date October 11, 2018
This novella, a prequel to Legacy of Lies was written perfectly to set up the backstory of Tripp and Jolie. The characters were well developed as you see where all things started between the two. The connection between Tripp and Jolie, although still young, was beyond skin deep.
“I get it. I felt him. Everywhere.”
Two people brought up in prestigious households, wealth and privilege fall hard and fast for each other. But, just as fast as their love came about all was ripped away from them in an instant.
This book will have you 1-clicking Legacy of Lies because if you are a sucker for a HEA you will need to read it. I highly recommend this book.
Jolie wasn’t looking forward to being a debutante. Let alone being set up with her father’s business partner’s son. She hadn’t seen him in years and truly wasn’t looking forward to it. She just had to keep in mind that this was just a stepping stone for her. When she finally does see Tripp again she can’t fight how drawn to him she is. Tripp is hoping some of these debutantes will be easy after he does his duty for his dad. What he doesn’t expect is seeing Jolie and knowing that she is the only debutante he wants to be around. As they are drawn closer by a love that feels timeless, the world around them begins to crumble. When all is lost can the Manhattan princess and Wallstreet heir be able to stay together?
This was such a thrilling beginning. I was extremely lucky that I was able to have the next book ready. Jolie and Tripp have the beginnings of an epic Romeo and Juliet love story. A story filled with hope, love and tragedy. In just this short novella, you can already tell how complex these two characters are. They are so much more than the money their families have. Tara Leigh is fantastic when it comes to reeling in a reader and getting them to care about the characters and how the story effects them. This truly is only the beginning and when I get to share the rest, I know you will be panting to pick the continuation up. Throne of Lies is just the start of a story you will find yourself addicted to.
The prequel to Throne of Lies – A MUST READ to understand what has happened in the past with Jolie & Tripp.
Friends from a young age turned “star-crossed” lovers. Circumstances cause them to lose contact and you are left wondering what happens after devastating news hits.
Wonderfully written with sexy, steamy scenes. The characters are sweet and in love. They are characters you know will end up back together, but leave you guessing what exactly they have to endure to get back together.

Throne of Lies was a quick and dirty and to the point prequel! I’m amazed by how much the author fit this much in under 100 pages! An exceptional job at setting the scene for Legacy of Lies. It’s got me dying for the rest of Tripp and Jolie’s story. 5 stars
Angsty. Steamy. Delicious
