After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a … by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.
Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her… but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead… quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

Alas a female heroine that is bad-ass! I loved this story set in the fae world with royalty & betrayal, a bit of magic and of course love! A must read!
As I began the second in the series… I new I was in love – you must get this book series!
Sara J Maas’ world is absolutely enthralling. Loved the stories and characters.

Fuck. Me.
Holy Shit…
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas is sort of an epic fantasy that is aimed at children and young adults but it can be enjoyed by anyone. I enjoyed the story and found myself looking forward to reading the next chapter each day. This book was a B&N serial read on my Nook where a few chapters were delivered each day.
I felt that the characters …
Love this series!
This book is such a page turner that I was immediately hooked on the story and fell in love with all the main characters within the first few chapters. If you love fantasy that keeps you engaged and wanting to know more, then this is the book for you.
This book is so good I recommend to about anyone who is looking for a good read!
Oh my god that was amazing! Celaena is a young, infamous assassin who was thrown into in the salt mines after her capture. She is offered her freedom by a rebellious prince, Dorian if she will compete against other thieves and murderers to be the King’s champion but something evil lurks in the castles and is killing off the competitors one by …
Some of the conversations between the characters seemed unrealistic. She had a quick, strong relationship with a princess, then didn’t trust her, then after the princess saved her, they are best friends again…
I enjoyed this book and have since read some more of the series.
One of the best books I have read in a long time – the story line and characters are excellent
Amazing series…could not put the books down…read them all within a week! The only consolation was Maas’s Court of Thorns and Roses books (again, all read within a week)…just as enthralling and entertaining!
Omg I love this book and the whole series
This entire series is full of action with a main character who is both magical and physically impressive (a highly trained assassin). This allows her to do a lot of cool stuff and take down enemies who seem to be more powerful. I have enjoyed the variety of perspectives, including that of the witch (whose name I can’t recall at the moment). …
I’ve read this book and series at least 20 times, and I cannot get enough!
Celeana Sardothian can teach many people a thing or two
I would strongly recommend the Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J Maas. She is a master of suspense and writes amazing battle scenes. Her final book “Kingdom of Ash” is coming out October 23. Don’t miss it! If you want to escape reality, this is a world I would live in forever
Too much for any young person to have to endure, even an assassin. Excellent young adult, adult book ,full of action, fight for a cause . Read the prequel The Assassin’s Blade first
A++ Brilliant! Must, MUST be read.
I first heard about THRONE OF GLASS on an agent’s blog and will admit, I wasn’t instantly dying to buy it. Assassin? Eh. Glass Castle? Eh. THANK HEAVENS I DID BUY IT! Want to know just how good it was? When I got to the end, I waited a day and STARTED READING IT A SECOND TIME. Yeah . . . that level of …
