After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a … by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.
Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her… but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead… quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

I appreciated a few things in this book. One was the author’s ability to build an expectation, then take a swift left leaving you surprised at what actually happened. Her characters are fun, interesting, and feel reel.
Lots of stuff going on in this book. Hard to keep up with who is who. I don’t know if that’s because I’m listening to the audiobook or if I would have the same problem if I was reading the book. Seems like there are a lot of plots to juggle here. On to the next book…..
This book. Where to begin? It was honestly one of the best novel series I’ve read in a long time, I seriously could not get enough, I read the series twice over waiting for the final installment to release. I started it the month before. It was so good, and my god do you root for the main character. She literally deserves the world, because …
This is best series I’ve read in a very long time. It captures you from the very beginning. I couldn’t wait to read the next book. You will not be disappointed. Saraha Maas does it again.
After reading Hex Hall I couldn’t find a book that really lit that spark while reading. I struggled most of the time to let the book get to me because Hax Hall was very special and really the best book I’ve ever read. But one time I stumbled uppon Throne of Glass in my library and this book turned it around. It was so much better than I expected. …
The Throne of Glass series is an amazing action-packed, page-turner, inspirational series. That is also entertaining, romantic and has great characters. If you’re looking for a girl power leader who hides in the shadows as another person who soon realizes that she has to face the struggles of her past and who she really is and what she really …
It was an absolutely amazing journey with this book, would recommend it to young readers of ages 14 +.
Simply wonderful!! The way Sarah builds an entire world that revolves around the hero, Celaena, is amazing! The next book, Crown of Midnight, has a huge twist that threw me off my hinges, the books afterwards are even more interesting! I strongly recommend reading this series!
This series had me from start to end. Every time a new book came out i read all the previous books over and over again and each time I enjoyed reading them. I was totally invested in the main character. It was hard waiting for the next book to come out. Can’t say enough about these books. Just really really enjoyed this series. In fact i might …
I loved this book so much. I read it in one night because I couldn’t put it down and it’s a book I recommended to so many of my friends! They all loved it as well.
As you can tell I love the series and I really do. To start with the characters they were amazing I loved Celaena she was a beautiful character and I really did love her whole character she was so human in the sense that she could have just been a person off the street. That’s how real that it felt to me and how character. I found her whole story …
This book was a lot of fun to read! Throne of Glass falls into the “battle royale” genre…Celaena, a renowned assassin, is given the chance to escape her prison sentence by participating in a life-and-death competition. If she loses, she’ll go back to prison for the rest of her (probably very short) life. If she wins, she’ll earn her freedom and …
This is literally THE best series in the world!
This was a wonderful start to Maas’ first series. I don’t know how she thinks up all the wonderful plot twists, but she is amazing at it. As the characters in the book develop, you’ll love them more and more, until you never want their story to end. This book will leave you breathless, and hungry for more.
One of the best books I’ve ever read. Sarah J. Maas is turning out to be one of my favorite authors of all time. Read this series!
This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I fell in love with the characters and couldn’t wait to see what their lives would hold. Exactly what one would expect from Sarah J Maas.
I’ve been bingeing this series for the past week. The fast pace of this enthralling story has caused quite a few late nights and I love it!
Great book very interesting and kept my attention the whole time!
I just loved Celaena Sardothien!!!! After a long, long GOT drought I was looking for a little something to tide me over until 2019. I don’t regret picking up this series. I don’t know why I didn’t know about it since it’s been around for some time. But thank God I finally did. This book is just da bomb.
Celaena has self-styled herself to be the …
Fantastic work! I love that I cannot figure out what is going to happen next. I could not pout this book down.
