After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a … by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.
Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her… but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead… quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

Awesome series ! Really enjoyed each book
I LOVED this book, as well as the whole series, definitely worth the read!!
this book was amazing and was written so clearly. Great storyline!
This series is undescribable levels of amazing raw perfection. I have a week designated every year where I celebrate me reading this series for the first time and I re-read the entire thing. This has been going for 5 years now. Just read the book.. it’ll be one of the best choices you’ve ever made
Not unique and not very exciting. It was like “The Selection,” but the romance wasn’t as good and the main character is an assassin.
I was much more impressed with ACOTAR. I hear that the next book is better and that the series picks up in book three, so I’ll try to keep reading it.
Not super good, but easy read
The book was SO good! I love the characters and that the main character had other qualities that made me love her. The story line and plot was great and magic was involved! I loved it so much and I recommend it to all teenagers and young adults. It does have some slightly mature content but really it’s okay, nothing too bad. Thank you for writing …
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Throne of Glass series on audible. The characters are interesting, the world is unique, and the story arc with character development is superb. There’s a reason so many fans love this series. Two more books to go, and I can’t decide if I should keep binging or slow down and savor the final moments.
This has got to be my new favorite book! I am writing this review after finishing the entire series and I can say that it does not get duller or has been spun out for more money.
It’s a beautiful series that follows the story of Celaena Sardothien an assassin from the fictional world of Adarlan. There are many plot twists and you fall in love …
This book is super good. It is a definitely a page turner and I would totally recommend it! I think it’s for kids between 13 and 18 years old. I’m team Dorian, what about you all?!!
Nice
Absolutely amazing. Hats off to Sarah J Maas. Huge fan of yours!
I absolutely love this book series as well as the author. I own almost every one of her books. The characters and the worlds she builds are absolutely amazing, will definitely keep reading over and over again!
The Throne of Glass series is one of my favorites. Sarah J. Maas has created a twisting story that’s entirely unpredictable, beautifully crafted characters, and a world beyond imagining. Throne of Glass is a page turner, once you pick it up you won’t want to put it down!! Happy reading!!
I really wasn’t a fan. In fact, I should have taken a hint after the first two failed attempts at reading past the first six chapters, but I guess I’m just too stubborn to listen to my own agony
It was a very shallow book; everything was thrown in our faces. I couldn’t take how vain Celaena was. And the plot twists were DEFINITELY not anything …
I will forever be in love with this series! Sara J. Maas has made it impossible to forget the amazing journey of Celaena Sardothien and I’ve grown attached to each and every character in this series. This book is perfect for us readers who want to escape the ordinary and delve into a universe of adventure, romance, humor and an exciting, …
An amazing start to an amazing series by an amazing Author. I highly recommend ALL OF HER BOOKS.
WOW! loved the whole series, off the chart characters and kick arse read! “pun intended”
I loved the Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. That was the first series by her that I’ve read. I picked up Throne of Glass because she is the author. It’s well written and very well edited. The characters are somewhat quirky but well developed and I cared about them. The story and world building are great. I rated this book …
I’d stalled reading Throne of Glass. Whenever a book is over-hyped I always approach it with some foreboding. But it turned out my fears were unfounded. I had seen a lot of bad reviews hating on Celeana and the book in general. And I have to ask, what the hell?
Celeana Sardothien is a refreshing female lead. She is cocky, she knows she is …
