Tyson had been kidnapped!Wrong place at the wrong time all because of his crush on Drew Eastwood. Chained up to a bed for days, he started to develop Stockholm syndrome for one of his captors, Victor.Victor was reassuring and kind, and he made promises to Tyson. Would this new relationship be an outlet for Tyson or one wrought with trouble? The night that Tyson went missing still gave Drew … missing still gave Drew nightmares.
Coming forward with the truth would put Drew at the mercy of the justice system and the criminal underworld. Drew’s instincts told him to run as his father was dangerous. But leaving town also meant leaving Tyson.
What connections would Drew make to help resolve this conundrum?
Author’s note: Thrills of Danger is the second in Inge Mayhem’s Wild Hearts series. The third book, To Have and To Hold will be available soon.

This is part 2 of 4. Not a standalone. We learn Tyson was kidnapped and now being manipulated by Victor. Drew saw his father shoot a man and is worried about his safety. Hope the next book gives us more insight.
I think it is important to read the first book, Lone Cowboy, in this series in order to understand who is who and what is happening…although actually we still don’t know exactly what is happening, which is one reason this is so much fun. It does not take that long and will really help knowing who is who. And there are indeed a lot whos.
Inge Mayhem, in the second book of this series has crafted a story where you know what you think the story is about but there are many things going on that we do not yet know. We are still unsure exactly who is bad, good, both? There are a group of characters and all play a role in the lives of the two guys that I believe are the main protagonists, Drew and Tyler. But both young men have been thrown into a pot of drama (not literally).
You can tell that Ms. Mayhem has a lot of fun with her characters and the story is such that you absolutely will have no idea what is going to happen next. But it is a lot of fun and can not wait for more. Job well done!
I was offered an ARC for an honest opinion. The book was good & well written and may have gotten more stars if i had read the first book, which was my fault. Author was new to me & I didn’t do my “research” on the series & didn’t know the characters. You have to read book 1 before this & ends in a cliffhanger but not a dramatic one.
I can’t decide if it’s erotic or terrifying. Either way, I can’t put it down. Mayhem has woven a cast of realistic characters into a twisted plot of love vs lust, where choices are the butterfly wings that create chaos. More please.
Because I read this book out of order I will only review it based on this book only and I will go back and read the first one soon.
Drew have been witness to a murder done by his own father and by witnessing the crime he managed to drag his friend Tyson into a dangerous situation that leads to Tyson being kidnapped and convinced to corporate with his kidnapper. While drew is trying to find a way to find Tyson he seeks out the one person that might help him out of a bad spot before things get worse.
This we’re a really short story and I wished it was longer as it was really good written and all the characters made sense and we’re easy to connect. I’m looking forward to read more of this story in the next book.
Thrills of Danger is the second book of the Wild Hearts series. Reading the first book would make for a better experience as this is not a standalone book but is part of a series that flows into a one continuous story with various characters involved.
The book picks up from when Tyson was kidnapped from Lone Cowboy. He is shown as distraught and very desperate to be free from his captivity that he is willing to do anything for it. Soon after we shift to the point of view of Drew who knew of what really happened and his narration of the events somehow conflicts with that of what Tyson believes and this we can clearly see as a point of conflict in the feature. There were scenes of confrontation with Drew’s father who is not only a callous man but an utterly trash of a human being. We see more of Drew’s pain of his need for revenge against his father but the helplessness as well of his position that he was left with no choice but to see the help of an old family friend in the end. The book ends in a cliffhanger where Tyson was has just called Victor and told him of the success of whatever their plan was and with Tyson looking happily forward to his new life.
This part of the series had an interesting setup and you can actually get a grasp on what it is trying to do while still leaving enough room for some questions that needed to be cleared for future installments of the series. However, I feel like there is too much happening at the same time in the story. Too many characters are being introduced all at once but are left underdeveloped with too little to have them feel memorable or for the reader to feel an actual attachment to them. Some of the narrative felt a bit forced and some resolutions and twists felt rushed. The other characters might be given some screen time in the other books but for now apart from Tyson and Drew, they all feel flat. That ending is so abrupt that its like the sound of the piano when someone just slams their fingers on the piano pieces. Hopefully the other parts can fill in the gaps that are missing and can answer certain questions like who is Victor really and what does he really want from Drew and Tyson.
Overall the book is still a good read despite all the flows I mentioned. I am giving this a 3.75 stars out of 5.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
Drew see his father shoot someone and Tyson who is a new friend after moving to town is with him. Tyson show up missing but comes back. Tyson can not tell anyone what has happen to him during that time. Read to found out more.
This book was given to me by the author to write a review.
I was given a free copy as part of the Mayhem Arc team in exchange for review. Review is also posted to Amazon Canada.
This is not a standalone. It picks up from the end of Lone Cowboy.
This book is also in 2 parts but I found the flow to be a lot better in this one. There’s no confusing jumping around from past to present like the last book. This one answers the many questions that I was left with in book 1. This makes sense of it all. I found this one to be a lot more interesting. Although some aspects are a little far fetched. All four of the male characters are developed more in this book and I became more interested in all of them (Drew, Tyson and Michael and Brad). I don’t want to give too much away but I enjoyed it enough to recommend it. As long as you read book 1 and 2 together and be warned this one also ends on a cliffhanger. Now I’m awaiting the next one to find out what happens next.
Note this is m/m in the sense that bfs are mentioned but there is zero activity other than a kiss so I wouldn’t call this a romance book its more just an action/suspense mystery.
You need to read the first story in order to understand what it is going on. We learn about Tyson in this story. He is kidnapped. He tells the truth but unfortunately for him it does not help him. So Victor is sent in. Drew brings Tyson along and Drew witnesses something he should not. We are introduced to a few more characters in the story line. I was definitely kept interested and want to read more of the story line to see how it plays out. I am voluntarily leaving a review from an advanced copy that I was gifted. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Finding a way to be free. This was a story that keeps you on your toes with what is happening. Tyson is still being help and finding Victor to be someone that he could like. Drew is upset that Tyson has been captured but he’s got his father to contend with. There are several characters and you need to keep them straight to understand this story and once you do it great! Can’t wait for the next book! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
It Grabbed My attention and focus so strong I could not put it down. A word of advice when you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You will not be moving until you finish this bad boy here. Remarkable job. Thanks for sharing.
If you like intriguiging stories told in a serial manner this is a good read. Be sure to start with book one, not this one, or you will be missing critical plot set-ups. I enjoyed learning more about the characters and seeing the relationships develop. There are clearly more twists and turns to come and I will be there for the next volume.
