He stopped for an accident and stumbled upon the one woman he’d been looking for all his life. From a Readers’ Favorite award-winning author and the “queen of the family saga” (Aherman) comes The Parker Sisters, a new spinoff of the Married in Montana series. To everyone who doesn’t know her, dependable EMT Taz Parker is strong, capable, and confident. However, everything about her job terrifies … everything about her job terrifies her. She lives in a small Wyoming town, with five sisters, an overprotective father, and no dating prospects on the horizon, considering the lack of available men in the area. That is until one rainy night, while transporting a patient to the next town, she stumbles upon an accident.
Jerry O’Rourke is only passing through town when he witnesses a roadside accident. When he stops to help at the grisly scene, there’s only so much he can do, so he flags down a passing ambulance. A pretty EMT stops to help, and Jerry is unable to resist her.
Even though he lives in another state, Jerry seeks out Taz just one more time—but what he encounters is a naive young woman from a big family. Taz is beautiful and innocent, and he wonders where she’s been all his life. When he sets his sights on her, he soon realizes that the strong ties Taz has with her family could make having her far more difficult than he could have ever imagined.

She meets him at an accident scene. Jerry O’Rourke, a stranger passing through who stopped to help. EMT Taz Parker thanked the stranger and knew she wouldn’t see him again. Jerry had never felt so connected to a woman and so quickly. There was something about her that drew him to learn more about her. He knows that she has a very protective family, will he measure up to their expectations? Taz has never felt this way about a man, he intrigues her and sets her emotions on fire. Can she give up the life she has known and venture in to his world? How will she react when his past comes back to disturb their fragile beginning? A wonderful first story in the Parker Sisters series! I did not receive this book to review, but I really enjoyed the story and wanted to recommend this author, book and series. (paytonpuppy)
Audio review:
I enjoyed the storyline. It was sweet, easy to read, and quite wholesome. The narration was, however, not fantastic. It was quite monotonous and lacked emotion.
As I started this book, and subsequently listened to the audio book, I thought about how an almost 30 year old woman could stand having her parents treat her like she was 16?
This was a fast paced book. Taz met Jerry, and it was basically Insta love. I liked Taz, but I really thought she would have more backbone. Jerry was wrong for not sharing his past. I could not stand Jen. I would like for once in a book, when a man was in a situation like Jerry was with Jen, that he toss her and her clothes out into the hall or out the front door.
After the way Taz’s parents behaved at the beginning of the book, her father really surprised me with his response to the situation. Also, the way Taz behaved, she did act more like a teenager than a grown woman.
Jerry and Taz resolved their issues so that they could move on to their HEA. I did expect more depth of characters, a longer relationship, more detail about their lives, and something about her EMT situation both at home and in Denver. This was a sweet, kind of light read/listen. The narration was ok.
This is a sweet romance with a bit of conflict. The connection between Jerry and Taz is quick but powerful, and, although they have to deal with some drama that could tear them apart, there’s potential for their feelings to be strong enough to overcome whatever life throws their way.
It’s a fast-paced tale with characters and a storyline that will hold your interest from beginning to end. The drama adds depth to the story with a touch of heartache. And, although there’s a few bumps along the way, their journey is one worth taking.
This is a great series starter featuring Taz, the oldest Parker sister still at home, and Jerry, the man who tips the axis her world revolves on. Coming from a small town and family of all girls I could totally relate to this story and the diverse personalities surrounding the Parker family. I love how Taz was willing to take a chance on a life she wants and the patience Jerry exudes in getting his girl and traversing the relationship with her family.
Taz is an EMT in a small town where everyone knows everyone else. No keeping secrets in this town. She is flagged down at an accident by a gorgeous man. Jerry is just a visitor to the town and is on his way back to Denver. Then he meets beautiful Taz at the accident. Sparks fly between these two and Taz doesn’t know what to do about it. She has led a very sheltered life as one of the Parker girls. Her parents are very involved in their lives and Taz lives in a small cottage on the Parker property. I loved this story.
As always Ms Eckhart’s books are amazing and so well written and this one is no exception
I loved Taz and Jerry’s story.
I can’t wait to see what happens in their lives and to meet some of the other Parker Sisters
Highly recommend
I received an author’s copy and have left an honest review
A really good start to a new series! There are 6 Parker sisters total so you know there is going to be lots of drama! This kicks off with Taz, a 28 yr. old EMT. She & 2 of her other sisters live in cabins on their parent’s property. 2 of the other sisters are still at home in the main house. When Taz meets a man at an accident scene sparks fly. This was a sweet romance with some drama and I can’t wait to read more about the sisters.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I am so excited about this new series, The Parker Sisters because I really enjoyed Thrill of the Chase. I also liked that there are more single sisters to read about in the future.
The characters are unique in this story as they all live either in their parent’s house or in cabins that were built on the property in small town Kaycee, Wyoming. Jerry O’Rourke is a strong, take charge, sexy male character. It was interesting to watch him chase after Taz Parker and have to deal with her father, especially since she is 28.
I enjoyed the problems these two characters faced and was surprised by Taz’s father and her sisters. I was also surprised by how the story ended and I liked that. Great first story full of romance, chemistry, and a sexy guy who chases after a sweet girl.
Great Story
Taz was a EMT in a small town with a lot of men with little minds. She is the 3rd of 6 sisters. Her oldest is married and living in Montana. But he parents are protected. When she goes with her immature make partner to answer a call and is told by the client that the guy could do it that didn’t help. In the way to the hospital she pulled over to assist a man who was waiting for help with the car that filled over. Parker is waving down the ambulance when he tells Taz what happened, her partner leaves her. He doesn’t she her again until the next day when he asked her to dinner. But something sparks between them.
I loved everything about this book!
This is a review of the audiobook,
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5
Thrill of the Chase is the first book in the Parker Sisters series and I loved everything about this story. The narration by Mary Jane Conlon was fantastic and the writing by Lorhainne Eckhart was great.
I’ll talk about the narration first. This is my first audiobook performed by Mary Jane Conlon and I loved her voice. I tend to be hard on female narrators as I usually find their voices just not as pleasing to my ear as a male voice. Mary Jane Conlon is one of the three or four exceptions for me so far. Her phasing was perfect, the inflections in her voice match the text and she did a good job of differentiating between all of the character’s voices. I’m pleased to learn that she also narrates another one of the books in this series.
Now, I’ll talk about the story. I’ll say right up front that this is pretty much an insta-love story so if you hate that then this book might not be for you. I don’t mind insta-love at all especially since I know a few real-life couples who ended up being married for over 40 years after knowing each other a very short time.
Jerry O’Rourke is a businessman passing through town when he stops to help at a horrible accident he witnessed. Taz is an EMT and she stops her rig, even though she was transporting someone to the hospital, to see if she can help. Neither of them expects to ever see the other again; Jerry lives in another state. When they run into each other later at a diner they both know that they want to see each other again.
There are complications with Taz’s family and also some fairly funny scenes where she and Jerry get caught in a compromising position more than once. In what I think of as Lorhainne Eckhart’s trademarked style, Thrill of the Chase has all of the close-knit family elements that I’ve found in her Friessens series. This is a great start to a new series and I’m looking forward to reading/listening to the rest of them.
I won a copy of this audiobook from the author in a giveaway but no review was requested or required. My review is voluntary and not influenced by the author.
This story begins the series of The Parker Sisters. Sisters that are very much sheltered by their parents , especially after the oldest one left years ago with a cowboy.
This one belongs to Taz, an EMT that while on another call, she and her co-worker, come across an accident. There she finds Jerry O’Rourke , an out of towner , who had stopped to help.
The chemistry between them is immediate. They moved at the speed of lightening, and they have bumpy moments, but remember, this is fiction and anything can happen!
An audiobook for an afternoon of leisure, that leaves you wanting to know more about the rest of the girls.
