When New York reporter Paige MacKenzie heads to Tres Palomas, New Mexico, the resort of Agua Encantada seems a perfect destination to combine work with pleasure. A quick article on the healing mineral springs and a few leisurely soaking sessions in the resort’s soothing waters promise well-deserved rest and relaxation. Paige is immediately intrigued with a local artist’s one-of-a-kind jewelry … jewelry designs, as well as weekly gatherings to hear legends from an elderly storyteller. But when identical jewelry shows up on another guest and the storyteller goes missing, Paige’s R&R is soon redefined as restlessness and risk. Curious and persistent by nature, Paige is convinced there’s a connection. Enlisting the help of a flirtatious resort worker seems like a good idea until it begins to test her loyalty to her favorite cowboy, Jake Norris. Will an unexpected overnight trip to Tierra Roja Casino lead her to the answers she seeks, or are darker secrets lurking along the way?

I liked it OK since I live in New Mexico and like to read novels of my state.
I always enjoy dried in localities I know. It makes me feel like I almost know some of the people. This is well written with good descriptions of senery, buldings, rooms and charactures, etc.
Paige gives us a woman who is independent and I love that about the story. It also made me hungry for tomales!!
Thought it was disappointing. Characters seemed distant and somewhat cold. Description of habitat near the spa includes things that do not grow in New Mexico, so details were wrong. That is an easy thing to verify.
Easy to read but as one reviewer noted very Nancy Drew.
This book seemed weak in story building.
A typical cozy mystery with a twist thrown in at the end. I read it on a plane and kept me from noticing too much how little leg room you get these days!
Good for casual reading. Not a life changing story or characters.
A little slow
Three Doves had a good plot and characters. At times it kept me on the edge of my seat. This writer is definitely improving her craft.
I think this book was very enjoyable. I really liked all the descriptions of living in small town New Mexico, because I lived there. It does a nice job of showing the chasm between big cities and rural life. And it made me want to eat all the food! I have read a couple of other books by this author, and she puts together a good cozy mystery.
Enjoyable book if not looking for a challenge .I liked it as was easy to read and i did not have to work at it Sometimes that is all you need to relax
Some twists and turns on plot reasonably entertaining
There were many typos of words running together which made a great book less than enjoyable.
Loved this book. I read it so fast because I wanted to know what happened next. Didn’t want it to end!
Good solid read. nice setting.
I hate pigeon holing things…. especially good mystery stories, these doves cannot so easily be caged.
I loved this quick moving excellent, tight little mystery. The characters have depth and are very human. The story in just rich enough to want to be there, to want to help work on the solutions, but not hauntingly so. If you read it in one sitting you’ll sleep very well, if not you have planted some great dream-seeds. Just enjoy!
Really enjoyed the story line.
Shallow, I was disappointed. I had read the first book of this series, and it was interesting and a good mystery. This book was flat.
predictable…not that interesting…a bit far-fetched.
