When New York reporter Paige MacKenzie heads to Tres Palomas, New Mexico, the resort of Agua Encantada seems a perfect destination to combine work with pleasure. A quick article on the healing mineral springs and a few leisurely soaking sessions in the resort’s soothing waters promise well-deserved rest and relaxation. Paige is immediately intrigued with a local artist’s one-of-a-kind jewelry … jewelry designs, as well as weekly gatherings to hear legends from an elderly storyteller. But when identical jewelry shows up on another guest and the storyteller goes missing, Paige’s R&R is soon redefined as restlessness and risk. Curious and persistent by nature, Paige is convinced there’s a connection. Enlisting the help of a flirtatious resort worker seems like a good idea until it begins to test her loyalty to her favorite cowboy, Jake Norris. Will an unexpected overnight trip to Tierra Roja Casino lead her to the answers she seeks, or are darker secrets lurking along the way?

Easy reading and most enjoyable.
Enjoyed it
This book is just okay. The biggest problem is that when the book was formatted into an eBook, numerous words on every page are combined which makes it very difficult to read and annoying. Seems like someone would check for typos before letting it go to print.
Enjoyed the NM setting and the characters!
Too Short
Very entertaining
News Yorker in a very unusual setting. Mystery to solve. Romance. Different culture expressed by housing, food, many different characters.
I so enjoyed this book that I ordered the second one!
This was a fun read. Enjoyable characters.
Fun to read. Did not realize Native American Art brought in so much money!
I used to live in New Mexico and totally enjoyed the descriptions of food, jewelry, and scenery……..probably more than the story itself. The story was easy to read and somewhat predictable.
Loved the setting and plot.
I have to say I found this book to be a bit of a slog. I really had to push myself to finish. It just took such a long time for anything to happen (after a very early experience in a storm that happens at the beginning of the book). It was not badly written just that the characters and the story both felt a bit lacking.
I started this book, but was agitated with the over explanations given for every little detail or action of the character. I felt it did not move very well. I could not finish it.
This is set in New Mexico. I loved the setting and the characters. Fun story!
This was a great read. A good book for light reading that will capture your attention.
This book was a bit slow in my opinion. Story was about my home state of NM and I’m felt the writer could have said a lot more. It almost seemed as if the author had never actually been there. Story was about a writer who recoveries jewelry theirs and gets in the way of the cops doing their jobs. Common theme. But could have been better. I finished it but not sure I want to read the others in the series.
Good look into life in Southern USA. Great characters.
Couldn’t put it down. Very enjoyable read!
Made want to go to new mexico and go on vacation
