Tara Shiloh knows she’s not a drug addict. She’s positive she’s a good mother and hard worker. So why is she in an alley with a needle in her arm? Waking up in the hospital without her son is terrifying. Being told she can’t have him back nearly crushes her. With her memory spotty and the circumstances incriminating, Tara must fight to learn the truth and wrestle with the idea that maybe her son … son is better off without her. Reid Holliston defends guilty people for a living and it’s slowly killing him. He’s certain there is no such thing as a truly blameless client anymore. When his phone rings with a voice from his childhood his jaded views make him certain Tara is just one more criminal claiming innocence. But even his skepticism isn’t enough to keep him away. Best friends from a lifetime ago, the two must find a way to trust each other again in spite of how the years apart have changed them. Can a promise made in childhood be enough to save them both?

Very good book- kept me interested and on the edge of my seat
Enjoyed reading this book very much!
Interesting plot & characters.
This story had some elements which didn’t seem to make sense but overall it was good. I would read this author again.
Goes to show that people can hide behind a mask, one can not always take them at face value. The domineering one can be male of female.
This book was so wonderful!!!! I never knew what was going to happen next and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great read.
Great book. One mother’s quest for the truth and her child.
Nobody wants to believe this woman who was found with a needle sticking out of her arm. Is she really an addict? Did she leave her son out in. The cold, alone, without a coat? He’s only a little boy,
Excellent author and great story line.
This was a great book. Easy read and exciting just didn’t want to put the book down.
I loved this book. Page turner, couldn’t stop reading.
It was tough to put down. I kept it with me for the duration and dove back in any time I could. I actually locked myself away and turned off my phone to finish it! then I went looking for more from this author.
Enlightening about what some people will do and can do in crime situations, but interesting twists.
One of the best books I’ve read so far. Grips you from the very beginning and you just want to grab something to drink maybe a few snacks an lock yourself away and read the day away it’s that good.
It was a great book and I really enjoyed reading it. It was easy to read and to follow. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
Suspenseful, quick read. The ending was like a Lifetime network movie.
Enjoyed this light day reading
book was slow all the way through until the last chapter, and far fetched.
