Part three was….interesting. More than part two.
Even though it takes Danni forever to make a decision.
It’s exquisite agony.
This review is going to be short, because i don’t want to take away the experience of finding out.
All i’m going to say is,that it was quite the journey.
And looking back,i can say it was worth it.
I’m just feeling sad for…..
“I gave you my heart. It was always yours to break.”
Pam Godwin is a heinous, heinous person. (okay maybe not…but…) Clearly breaking my heart twice was not enough for her. No…She had to pulverize it too. If I thought it would help, I would go to war with her. I would fight for who I want. But the heart wants what the heart wants. We can’t force it and that’s what kills me.
Devastates me and leaves me a sobbing lump…It doesn’t help that the music causes a soul destroying level of pain. It’s perfectly choreographed with the words to cause the utmost damage. Together, they cause a bullet wound that bleeds out all over your chest. (bullet wound…tears…same thing)
Three Is War was hard for me to start because I knew it would have an ending. A devastating, heart breaking ending. I would like to say that I hate Ms. Goodwin but that would be a tangled lie… (see what I did there?) I would like to blame her for falling for two men…but it wasn’t a choice. I gave them my heart. She just tore it to shreds.
I may have rooted for the other guy. I may still come up with a secret plan to heal his heart. (I think I’m the only one capable of such a mission.) I will never regret the Tangled Lies series even if my heart still hurts.
Oh and according to my husband, it’s just a book stop crying! Pfft, men!
The book was amazing. The love, loss, heartache, and indecision. WOW two friends in love with the same woman. She loves them both deeply, how will she choose?
This has some great twists and unexpected turns. I cried and absolutely loved it.
Note: This is book 3 in a series. You Must read the first 2 books before reading this one.
Well my goodness!! If there was ever an ending to a series that I made a paper chain to tear off a circle till the day it came out, this is the book!! After reading the first two books in this series, I’ve fallen in love myself with all 3 characters.
I dance in the mourning for the hurt I inflicted on him. I dance in longing for the love I share with him. I dance in fear for the words that will rip him away.
This book, This series is so well written that you can not help but fall in love and feel the emotions, the pain, the heartache. How can anyone have to face truly loving 2 men with their whole heart and have to pick one to go, one to be with forever?
But the heart isn’t logical. Sometimes, we don’t know what we want until it’s gone.
I cried, not gonna lie! From feeling the emotions that Danni, Trace and Cole were going through. Even if Danni offers up a ‘logical’ solution…the three of them remain together. That solution was shot down quicker than sinking in quick sand by both Trace and Cole.
If you know, we’ll all know.
6 Months…She has 6 Months to make the decision. Will it be the one she loves truly with all her heart or the one she loves with her heart? Pam Godwin has put us through the wash machine on heavy duty load with an extra spin cycle. Fantastic Ending to a Beautiful Story!!!
5 EPIC stars! This trilogy is one of the best I read over the year. I highly recommend it.
How to start my review when there is a battle deep inside my hearth. Only Pam Godwin could broke my heart and put the pieces together again. This book was roll coaster of emotions. I hated, cried and loved at the same time. It left me drained. The characters stole a piece of my heart. (Especially Trace). I will miss them badly. Good things never last forever only true love does. Everything has an end and this series deserved an EPIC conclusion.
This trilogy was the first Triangle Love I’ve read and it didn’t disappointed. I am so glad I gave it a shot. I could not miss the opportunity to read it because as a self-confessed addictive to Pam Godwin’s writing I did know this series was going to be as good as everything she writes.
Three is a war the final instalment in the Tangled Lies Series. This book is my favourite in the series because I felt Pam put her heart in this book. She delivered a masterpiece, a book full of love and redemption. It couldn’t be more perfect. It exceeded my expectations.
Let me share with you a little timeline of how I felt when I started the series. One Is a Promise opened my mind to second chances, to believe in love and fate. Two is a Lie (Tangled Lies, #2) thought me that lies could broke a heart no matter if they were told to protect, that sometimes we need a brake to think what we really want and if we are able to forgive. And Three is a War showed me that love is not a choice, it is something deeper.
“How fucked up is that? To ache for not one but two men who lie and cheat and manipulate at every turn?”
In this book Danni will follow the rules (which she didn’t know) of what Trace and Cole planned in order to solve what lies did to their relationship. She couldn’t choose one of the two men she loves. It was hard for her when she put the rules on the table so now she will follow Cole and Trace’s lead.
“The rare and beautiful thing I had with each of them was strangled by lies, gutted by broken promises, and infected with poisonous distrust.”
Choosing between her first love and her second chance. Balancing what her heart wants and being again with both of them will be a delicious temptation.
“I won’t beg, won’t make demands. I love the freedom in surrendering too much. Under their control, restrained by their will, I’m exactly where I belong.”
A decision should be made. Trace or Cole will be left with a broken heart. But both men are going to fight for Danni. She is their world and as people says that at hard times, hard solutions. They will give time to Danni. They set the rules. They want her happiness. But what it really matter is to show her who is the one who hold her heart. Love is never a choice.
“I fell in love with two men and lost myself. I’ll stay in love with one and find myself again.”
I spent a pleasurable time while reading this book. To see two alpha men fighting for the woman they love. The scenes between them made me flush like a teenager. They were steamy and hot. Staying with two men in the same place, sharing the bed is equal to a messy and mind-blowing game. Who will win?
“If this is a war, Trace and Cole aren’t the enemies. I am. I’m the betrayer who loves them both. The persecutor who will rip us apart. The executioner who will snuff the light that burns so brightly between us.
This trilogy is one of the best I read over the year. I highly recommend it. Trace, Cole and Danni have too much to tell you. Be prepared for an intense and heart-breaking love story. I wonder if it could be possible to have POV’s of Cole and Trace. What would it be in their minds? I am pretty sure we would enjoy it. Are you Team Cole or Team Trace?
“I refuse to force your hand on this… I want your heart to beat for me and only me, not because I command it, but because we’re meant to be.”
Thanks Pam for sharing this intense trilogy. I can’t wait to read more of your writing. Please consider writing a POVs of Trace and Cole and we would love you more.
This series had me not wanting to finish bc I didn’t want her to make a decision. What a provocative book! Loved the characters-
This is the last book in the Tangled Lies trilogy between Cole Hartman, Danni Angelo, and Trace Savoy. If you haven’t read the previous books you really need read ‘One is a Promise’ and ‘Two is a Lie’ before starting this book.
From the previous book Danni had been unable to choose between Cole and Trace and tired of the lies chose to walk away from both of them. They chose to kidnap her and to share truths to convince her to stay with them for six months so that she could find happiness with one of them.
I have to tell you I was all over the place. Cole was her first love and soul mate. Trace was her second chance, renewed her soul when she thought all was lost. These strong, dominant, alpha men feed her submissive soul but she can only have one.
Their story is emotional, heartbreaking, angsty and filled with enough heat and love that you’ll need a fan.
If you like my reviews I hope you will follow my blog. https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/
Talk about a book that had me emotionally invested! What an epic love triangle! I read the Deliver series before I read this and when I found out this series was about Cole Hartman’s past I had to read it before Complicate (book 9 in the Deliver series) came out so I could get the full spectrum of his life. There was always an air of mystery about Cole in the Deliver series. It was always so intriguing and now I know the extent of what he went through. Although I knew the ending to this series before I started it, it didn’t take away from the emotion I felt. I loved this ending and hope to read more about Danni and Trace in Cole’s book. For future reference I recommend reading this series before the Deliver series.
Absolutely loved this trio! Book 3 definitely caught me off guard and it was more than I could have asked for in the last book! Highly recommend!
In Three Is A War by Pam Godwin, we get the conclusion to the Tangle Lies series. Who will Danni pick for her forever- bad biker boy Cole or buttoned up Dom Trace? You have to have read book one and two in this series for this one to work. This will contain SPOILERS!!!
When we left Danni, Cole and Trace in book two, Danni had been taken but she doesn’t know by who. Turns out it’s Cole and Trace, who are determined to have her pick on of them since she has been miserable without them. They create a six month timeline for them all to live together with various rules in place on how they spend time with her that will hopefully help her pick. Ultimately, she does pick a forever man but it is a rough, emotional journey to an HEA.
Honestly, I knew who she would pick because I read the Deliver series so it wasn’t as much of a nail biter for me but the roller coaster of emotions leading up to the end was wonderfully done. Pam Godwin made me love each character. Even though Danni says “If this is away, Trace and Cole aren’t the enemies. I am.” She is totally self aware that her indecision is not only hurting her but the men she loves. She knows that she will break someones heart- even if it is her own but which man could handle the pain is the bigger question. Trace is just my heart. He was supposed to be watching her for Cole but falls in love and sooo deeply in love. His calm cool exterior that hides his deeply passionate Dom side is just the level of control Danni needs. Cole, sigh. I knew it wouldn’t be you. I am sorry. I feel like Danni really tried and you deserve your happily ever after and I think (if romance rules apply) you will get it in the final book of the Deliver series. Cole just tried so hard to go back to the life they had but the betrayal of his “death”, the lies and how she changed was just too much to overcome.
As I expect with all Pam Godwin books, the sex was hot, the emotions tangled, twisted and I loved every turn.
“If this is a war, Trace and Cole aren’t the enemies. I am.”
I don’t cry often on books and when I do it’s usually a couple tears. This book though? I was full on ugly crying to the point that the dogs had to come check on me. I am dead inside. Pam you have destroyed me.
I loved this story so much. I was really happy with the outcome even though it ripped my heart right out of my chest.
Danni is one of my fav female book characters ever. I adored her. I’m really looking forward to reading the rest of the deliver series so I can read the story for the man was wasn’t chosen on this love triangle
Three is a War is the conclusion to the Tangled Lies trilogy and left me absolutely satisfied. This series had me so emotionally invested that i knew no matter what the ending , I was going to be heartbroken!
This series captivated me from the very beginning and kept my interest until the final page of this book. I was completely invested in the story and characters. Normally when I read a book with a love triangle I have a favorite character, that one guy that I am rooting for, the man that I am hoping that the main character will ultimately choose, but in all honesty, I liked both men. I started out loving Trace. I know, I know most are Team Cole but for me I was sold on this man who came in and helped bring Danni back to life. Three is a War was a battle of emotions right to the very end. It was complicated, raw, and messy. Pam Godwin kept the tension high throughout the book’s entirety, never allowing my pounding heart to settle down to an even rhythm. It’s the angst, tension, and building anticipation that made this whole series so irresistible.
Danni was in an impossible situation loving these two men. So many times throughout I screamed for them to just have a poly-amorous relationship FFS! She wanted her cake and to eat it. EAT THE DAMN CAKE! my god. I LOVED THEM BOTH. it never happens in a love triangle. One is meant to be the villain. I had no idea how Pam was going to pull this off. I was #teamBOTH when I started this book, yet I leaned a little more toward one.
Any review I write will not do this book justice, nor this series. If you love your books filled with tons of passion, and written so beautifully that it grabs ahold of your heart, squeezes hard, and never let’s go, you need this in your life. Hands down a book that EVERYONE needs to read!
***SPOILER ALERT***
There are references to Books # 1 & 2 in this series. It may spoil the stories if you have not read them yet….

“The broken promises, the lies and secrets—all of it was grounds for war.”
I feel like I need a scotch and a cigarette after finishing this trilogy. I was sucked in at Book #1 – One is a Promice! From my review I wrote:
“How can Pam make us fall absolutely in love with two men! Gah! Cole is a handsome, rough and overbearing caveman. His chemistry with Danni is off the charts! And the sex…yeah…*fans self* He also has a sense of mystery that surrounds him.”
Then Pam continues to weave her magic and pull out all of the punches as two men compete for one heart in Two is a Lie which I found to be sexy, emotional and testosterone filled. Truths come to light, choices must be made. Cole and Trace couldn’t be any different. Who will Danni chose?
“We circled an unsolvable problem, inadvertently tangling a web around us. Lies, jealousy, resentment, stubborn love, all of it spinning us into a vicious spiral.”
I will say that I was surprised at the direction that the story took. It was not what I expected. But as always, Pam gave 110+%, pouring her heart and soul into it. All three stories pack an emotional punch and overflow with sexiness, sex appeal and just plain old sex! Well, as plain as Pam can write it…
I was on pins and needles the whole time wondering who would Danni choose??? No one can see the end coming. And now I can’t wait for ***SPOILER*** (sorry!)
“Cole is raw, rugged power in ripped jeans and a black leather jacket.”
“Trace is polished masculinity in designer denim and a white collared shirt.”

I cried! Even though I knew going in who she chose. I put off finishing this series for a long time as love triangles aren’t my thing (I’m a wuss); but I absolutely loved it! It’s an emotional and angst ridden ride that I’m so happy I finally read/listened to it. Great narrator!
Love is not a choice…This is the final book in the Tangled Lies series and it’s a heart-wrenching, soul-searing barn burner! I cried through most of book 2. I sobbed and wailed through book 3! Danni is faced with a devastating choice, one that is going to tear someone’s heart out. The journey is painful, horrendously so. You get a HEA but it comes with a price! Both Cole and Trace are wonderful alphas, you want them both to win and I would have been ecstatic if it would have worked out that way! Beautifully written and full of heart pounding angst.
What the…..!!!!! This series killed me! This love triangle is going to send you through a roller coaster of emotions and the ending….just OMG! The story line will keep you second guessing the what the outcome will be from book 1 to book 3.
The heroine, in my opinion, is a bit more selfish and bratty-like than I usually prefer and her decisions are a back and forth constantly. Its the hero’s in this triangle that make this series a winner for me! Trace and Cole both are the epitome of an awesome alpha dominant hero and the hurt and pain they both endure will squeeze you to tears! Definitely read this series if you are looking for a love triangle with two magnificent alphas!
Three books in you are really invested in this story.
The big question to begin with is can you walk away from love and we find that the men can’t.
What follows is a triangle where Danni doesn’t know the rules and as a reader you don’t either.
Two Alpha fighting to win but it seems that nothing can until a decision is made.
Things come to a head on Dannis birthday and then heartbreak. A decision is made and wow this makes you cry.
What follows is an emotional journey and I can’t say more without ruining it.
Worth all the angst and some classic lines from Angel .
5 star page turner.
~~4.5 TORTUROUSLY GOOD STARS! ~~
“My life began and ended with them.”
At long last, Danni makes her monumental choice between the two dominantly sexy Alpha men in her life in this soul-shattering conclusion to the heart palpitating Tangled Lies trilogy…and lemme just say it’s EPIC indeed!
Confession: I was biting my nails throughout this entire TORTUROUS series, where Danni Angelo was torn between the two lovers who owned her heart and soul. The rough and tumble bad boy with a heart of gold, Cole Hartman, whose tragic demise was GREATLY exaggerated in book one, or Trace Savoy the suave, sexy and oh so scintillating hotel mogul who calculated his every move but the one thing he NEVER, ever counted on was falling hopelessly in love with his best friend’s girl. Ooooh THE DRAMA. THE ANGST. THE JEALOUS RAGES. THE PASSION. THE TREACHERY. THE BETRAYALS. This series had it all and it nearly WRECKED me!
This pivotal final book picks up right where TWO IS A LIE leaves off, with Danni kicking both men to the curb after a shattering betrayal came to light, then selling her house and getting ready to embark on a new life in Florida. But ya know what they say about the best laid plans? When THREE IS A WAR opens we discover that she’s been whisked away against her will to a luxury cabin nestled in the mountains by the two men she’s been trying to outrun. Their grand, crazy-ass plan? She is to live with them there for the next six months at the end of which time she MUST make a final decision between the two deliciously doting dominants who have been vying for her hand in marriage.
“He can bleed my veins, drain me dry, and hold my desires in captivity. There’s no limit to what I would give him. Except the other half of my heart.”
As you can imagine, the tug of war that unfolds in this final book is uber intense, SCORCHING hot and so guttural at times I could barely catch my breath. The problem with love triangles is that there is always a heart rendering choice to be made , and though I am over the moon thrilled with the suitor who ultimately won this “Tiny Dancer’s” coveted heart, the victory is a bit bittersweet because I still ached acutely for the heartbroken gentleman who was left out in the cold. Even though I didn’t feel the “rejected” party was the right man for our beleaguered ingénue, I felt so much despair for him—and for poor Dani who was put in the inevitable position of choosing between the two men that she desperately loved, just in different ways–that it truly gutted me.
But ultimately there are truly no losers in this book—the one Dani didn’t opt to spend eternity with but who will forever claim a piece of her heart walked away with his head held high—a man of honor till the VERY END. Yet, nevertheless, I am hoping that the wickedly amazing Pam Godwin will give him his own HEA someday!
BOTTOM LINE:
THREE IS A WAR was a fitting, climactic ending to one the most agonizingly beautiful love triangles I have ever read. It kept me guessing all the way up to the end…yikes talk about being on pins and needles THROUGHOUT…and truly swept me up on an emotional rollercoaster of MONUMENTAL proportions. I cried. Cringed. Combusted. Exalted. Swooned. Sighed. And ultimately rejoiced from the depth of my being!! So, if you are a glutton for punishment and are willing to have your heart torn to shreds then ever so slowly mended together again, I highly recommend The Tangled Lies trilogy!
I enjoyed this book. I wasn’t sure which way it would go, but the author did not disappoint.
Three is a War
By Pam Godwin
Main Characters: Danni, Trace, and Cole
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
10 out of 5 stars
This was my quick review with the next paragraph what I really thought about this book and series. Absolutely loved this series. This is book 3 and you must read books 1 and 2 first. I will update this later when I have a little more time.
I thought this was a fabulous series. The angst of this book is the most of any I have ever read. Danni’s thought arguments on which man she loved more and wanting to be with him was heartbreaking to read. Cole and Trace were two very different men but both were alpha and didn’t want to share her. Now me, I was all for a ménage à trois. I was so close to tears in this book as Danni loved both men and she just couldn’t bring herself to choose between them. I have to say the ending surprised me. This is the only series where I feel I will read over again. I highly recommend it. Pam Godwin I would dearly love to read more of your contemporary romance books. Great job!
