This book gave me a major hangover. I was hoping for this and I got it. But then I continued to read and my feelings started to change. You made me think and feel this way. My heart broke, my heart cried, my heart gasped and my heart left happy. I still want to punch Danni in her face, slap Trace across his face and give Cole the biggest hug to comfort him. I’m can’t get this book out of my head…
My review from August 19, 2017:
Fucking brilliant.
I am over the moon in love with this series. It’s been over a week since I finished it and these characters won’t leave me. But that’s okay, I don’t want them to. I am so in love with all of them – they’ve stolen my heart.
I thought my heart was put through the wringer with the first two books, but damn. This one definitely wins for being the most passionate, intense, and heart-wrenching.
I had no idea how Pam was going to pull this off. I was #teamBOTH when I started this book, yet I leaned a little more toward one. Both Cole and Trace are SO fucking awesome!! I wanted to NOT like one so it would be easy to root for the other, but no. I loved them both. A lot.
Every emotion you can possibly think of, I felt while reading this. I was up and down and all around. Not gonna lie, some parts had me crying like a baby. Broken hearts, secrets revealed, devastation, heart-crushing pain…so much LOVE. <--- *that* is why it hurts. I'm very happy with the ending of this crazy love story, yet my heart breaks for the one who didn't get Danni in the end. I'm surprised at how easily I've accepted the ending and why it makes sense. I get it...I do. But it hurts like hell. I was really hoping for a wedding, where she marries both. I'm not even kidding. But I knew Ms. Godwin wouldn't make it that easy for us. Any review I write will not do this book justice, nor this series. If you love your books filled with tons of passion, and written so beautifully that it grabs ahold of your heart, squeezes hard, and never let's go, you need this in your life. This is, by far, one of the best love triangles I've ever read. Heartbreakingly perfect.
OMG!!!!!
I am a complete emotional wreck after reading this!!!
This series is why I don’t read a lot of angsty books – I wouldn’t have missed it for the world, but its going to take me a while to recover from my meltdown, with several bottles of wine thrown in for good measure!!
So this is the final book in the Tangled Lies series, the one with all the answers – maybe?!
In this book Danni is being forced to make a decision, one that will inevitably split her heart and soul in two, as she loves both men, but in completely different ways. Cole is the first love of her life, the one that owned her soul and the one that shattered it into a million pieces. Trace is the man who picked her up and rebuilt her shattered heart and gave her the strength to love again and move on.
In all three of these books I have been rooting for both men in one way or another, unable to finally decide who might just end up winning. I couldn’t decide, nevermind Danni!!!
This has to be one of the most stressful and angst ridden series that I have ever read – I was a sobbing mess, I was pulling my hair out, and I was driven to alcohol whilst reading. It left me in a total mess even when finished, it will be quite a while before I try another love triangle like this again let me tell you!!
Pam has done such a fantastic job on this series, it really does pull you in and doesn’t let you go, even when you have finished. Such an emotionally intense and heart rending story!!
Of course there are some very hot and steamy sex scenes in this, panty melting even!!
But am I happy with the ending?? Well I’m just not sure, but I think so. This was always going to be one of those reads where someone got their heartbroken – I didn’t expect mine to break whilst I was reading it!!
A fabulous series, one I heartily recommend for any angst lovers out there, but just be warned it is one hell of an emotional ride.
Such a great ending to a wonderful series. I was so wrong with my predictions from the start of this book. I wanted to cry with the struggles they were going through; Love is not a choice… Would love to know if the other man gets a HEA also.
This series was interesting. I thought it would be more about Cole but it was more about Danny. I was all for Trace because he seemed to really love her but I was all PRO Cole. I don’t want to give away the ending but I was very disappointed on who she picked. That is why it only got four stars. This is a good series with a happy ending and then you understand Cole in the Delivery series. I would read this series again since they were very good. I received this book free for an honest review.
The finale to the Tangled Lies trilogy brought mixed emotions for me. I truly disliked Danni through most of this book….until I didn’t. I had “MY” decision made up as to who she should choose, but she drove me completely crazy vacillating between the two. She DOES finally make a decision and she made the decision I would have made (nope, not telling you). She ends up with the perfect man for her. There is one of the men that I loved more than the other (and again not saying since it might give away how everything ended). I am completely enthralled by this author and can’t wait to delve into more by her.
FABULOUS series!!
“Love isn’t a choice” in awe right now, and wrecked, as the pile of tissues beside me is a testament to. The next morning, I am still in a serious book hangover as the story dominated by subconscious instead of resting. To me, that is the sign of an amazing book, not only one that grabs you at the moment, but hangs on and lingers. There is no doubt that the ugly crying this one indicted was worth every second
Like the previous book, this one picks up where the cliffhanger left off. This is not a stand alone story line, but each previous book is a complete story, and the build on each other pushing the story forward. This is the end, it is all going to come together in this book, and even while reading it, I had no idea how or why. The emotion, it is there, and the last third will gut you, but before that, it is fun, it is confusing, it is quiet, and it is loud. It is sexy to a degree that is off the charts throughout it all
There are three very determined people, each out to win the battle for their life. While Danni has yet to realize love isn’t a choice, she thinks she holds the power. Both Cole and Trace have realized this, they want what is best for her and are convinced it is him. They stop battling each other and focus on proving why they are the better choice. In the end, they all know only one man will be chosen, but in the moment, it all fits so right
I didn’t know how this was going to work out, but when it finally did, it made so much sense, I wondered how I didn’t see it all along. This book ends with a happily ever after and a broken heart, but it doesn’t end with heartbreak. It ends as it began, as it was through the whole series, with deep and unfaltering love
It’s a bittersweet moment when one of your anticipated series comes to an end. I devoured this final book in one sitting; I’m so invested in the story of Danni, Cole & Trace that I just can’t wait any longer to know what’s going to happen next after that cliffy ending in book two.
The story continues as Danni found herself in a room she didn’t recognize. All she can remember is that after taking a sip of her favorite coffee, everything just went black. Now, she must know who has the nerve to kidnap her… is it Cole? Is it Trace? Or is it the people that both, Cole and Trace, worked for in the past? As Danni searches for a way out, she saw him…
“My stomach hardens as I watch him. Waiting for a sign, a verbal cue, anything to clue me in on how to proceed.”
Okay, I’m stopping there, for I know I’m going to spill some spoiler if I say more, I’ll leave a warning though… brace yourself for there are some scene that will shock you, get you hot and bothered! Just expect the unexpected and enjoy! It’s worth it!
True to her way of writing a good story, Author Pam Godwin doesn’t just lay it all out… there are some twist and turn, the rollercoaster ride of emotion that encompasses this series, particularly this book. But the angst, sexual tension, and how it was eloquently written are some of the reason why I enjoyed this series. I’m at a loss for words after I turned the last page but what a fitting conclusion! I greatly recommend this series!
What a wild and very unpredictable ride this series was!
I have to say again this series made me completely wanna throw my phone and skip to the end several times because I had to know who Danni finally chose. But it was well worth the wait.
So you are playing on reading this series make sure you read the first 2
And see how everything was done and why she did what she did.
Pam Godwin is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
This is the last book in this trilogy and it brings Dani, Cole and Trace’s story to its end. There is a lot of emotional turmoil, drama and steam in this book. Add in lots of twists and shockers, that will keep you guessing and surprised and these reads are entertaining. That being said, This is a series you will either love or hate. Myself, I had some problems with this series and to be completely honest, there were many things I didn’t like. I found the heroine to be so self centered, spoiled and annoying. As for the guys, I felt frustrated and angry by their actions and what they were willing to put up with.. Originally I thought they both deserved so much better than how they were being treated by Dani, but in the end I felt they got what they asked for and deserved.
I absolutely devoured the first two books in this series; book two ended on such a cliffhanger I was left it a book funk for days! So I eagerly waited for my Trace-Danni-Cole fix to get closure. Setting myself up for a book based on secrets, deceit, espionage; I was disappointed with the direction this part of the story kicked off in. It felt like book two re-hashed all over again just under different conditions. For me it didn’t really progress on to anything new until about 65-70%. Danni just continued to go round in circles with her emotions for both Cole and Trace.
In the previous two books; Coles job was all cloak and dagger. We were left in intolerable suspense wondering what that job could be that was so top secret that it couldn’t be discussed; we eventually got to find out a bit a more, but again we didn’t really find out anything more than we hadn’t pieced together ourselves from the previous books. It explained why he had to have ‘died’ ; but I thought more could have been made of this and this was the reason why book two ended the way it did. Loved Traces character, he just oozed testosterone, he was silent, dominant and everything I look for in an alpha. I loved Cole too, he oozed sex appeal and had a dark and unknown side, a dangerous side that is just magnetic; Danni faced a tough decision as I couldn’t really dislike either of them.
Again told from a first person POV; the book I felt was slow paced in comparison to the other two and I think became predictable from about the midway point. This part only had three characters and I just felt it was lacking the angst, intensity and sexual tension built up in the other parts. I successfully guessed the end scenario. It’s really hard to say more without giving away any spoilers but it seemed a little flat. I guess i was just expecting more, more grand gestures, more ‘OMG’ moments and more secrets and lies to be revealed that helped Danni on her way to making a decision.
Loved this series and I do thoroughly recommend it, I just felt book three fell a little short of the expectations I thought were coming.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Three is a War is the third and final book in the Tangled Lies series from Pam Godwin. You can not read this as a standalone and must read the two previous books One is a Promise and Two is a Lie.
Cole was Danni’s first love. The bad boy with the dangerous smile and passionate temper. He draws attention like a lit fuse on dynamite. However his dark molton eyes only spark for Danni.
Trace is Danni’s second chance. He is a six foot all alpha male in a tailored suit. He calculates every move and seizes her hungry breaths with an iron fist.
Danni is a free spirited dancer tron between two men with no resolution in sight. She tried leaving, staying, refusing and surrendering. What options does she have left? She loves two men and does the only thing she can. Fight.
Oh how I have been dying to read this book. Two is a Lie left me with my heart in my throat and I had my opinions on who I have been rooting for this entire time so I was a little scared going in. If things didn’t go the way I thought they should I was going to be all to pieces. However what I didn’t expect is when they did go my way for my heart to shatter into a million pieces and tears to be streaming down my face at multiple points of this book. Danni is stuck between a rock and a hard place. The easiest thing that could happen is for a menage to be the answer. However I am proud of Pam Godwin for not taking the easy way out. No matter how you feel about who Danni should chose there is just not a way in this world for your heart not to hurt. I love both Cole and Trace but one more than the other and one was better than the other for her I felt. I didn’t want her to take the easy route. I can’t give my reasons for my logic or I will totally spoil this book for everyone. Just grab it dive in and enjoy the ride. The back and forth. The struggle. The heartbreak. And in the end the happiness.
This is a must read series by Pam Godwin. It is my favorite of the year. I am sad that it is over but thank goodness books are made to be read more than one time.
An amazing, phenomenal read that grips you from the start and pulls you under until you’re done. I devoured this one in a day! You will not be able to put it down. A love triangle that’s done so right, you might pick a team but still be rooting for the other. The feels, angst, and heat will have you reaching for a fan as well as tissuse. Highly recommend this trilogy. A must read, not a standalone.
5 Zuul Stars
An epic ending to the Tempestous Tale Of Love.
The story will increase your heart rate and throb your senses . It’s a catastrophic solution no matter which way Pam spins it , you can’t look away and you can’t watch !
Three beautiful people , brought together by Destiny , yet together would crowd a bed.
Pam etches these unforgettable characters -Trace , Danii And Cole . Their world becomes yours, their dilemmas frustrate your brain, their pangs of love warm your heart and then their broken, divided love pulls your soul in different directions.
At the end of book 2 , Danii has blacked out . I almost wish she’d stayed that way.
Who did it ….why …. how ? All those questions get answered , but there are bigger problems at stake here . The more they try to make sense the more they get senseless. The more they try to escape, the more they are slammed back together in the complex relationship. The more they try to wiggle out of picking a side , the more their heart is divided.
I was as conflicted as Danii, going out of my mind with craziness and couldn’t pick , since both Trace & Cole are true loves of her life, two parts of her Soul and two rhythms that her heart beats to. She and I could sway towards Dimpled charm and smirking sexiness of Cole one moment, then naturally submit to Trace and his powerful & magnetic commands.
They both hold Danii and me captive with their steamy kisses and sexy spells.
I moved and danced with Danii , my heart was right there with her going mad with passion and eavesdropping and trying to make sense of her
She’s in a Dreamlike scenario of being worshipped by two handsome men and yet that’s her bane, she’s being pulled in two different directions and it’s tearing her apart!.
“I fell in love with two men and lost myself. I’ll stay in love with one and find myself again.”
Easier said than done though .
Pam won’t let you off so easy, would she !.
I wish I was Danii, beautiful and sensuous, she holds two perfect hearts in her hand. It looks like a dream scenario from the outside. Two powerful men, on their knees , vying for her love . What makes her so worthy of this uphill task ?
“I’m afraid one day you’ll realize I wasn’t worth it.”
“I’m afraid one day you’ll ask me to leave”
Cole is a handsome rogue who drove on a bike, straight through Danii’s heart 5 years ago . I fell in love with Cole in book one and dammit when he flashes those holes in his cheeks my heart just sinks in them. He’s a flirtatious, handsome chap and I swooned when he smiled.
Danii too trips on his dimples and is trapped in his soulful gaze. Their passion is sky high . Her First Love, her First Soulmate. They share a chemistry, body trampling, soul igniting fire that envelops them as soon as they are in proximity .
Danii cannot resist him so they should be a logical choice , isnt it? (YES)
Because a woman can never forget her first love ever !! Right?(YES)
“He’s not the first man I loved or the first love I lost. But his is the love that cuts the deepest and does the most damage.”
And then Pam focuses on the other angle of this triangle. She writes Trace with such magnificent Demeanour, Danii kneel naturally for him . Their bodies slot and hearts sync perfectly. so that love should be perfect. He commands and demands from her, gives her life back and breathes love into her emaciated soul when she’s grieving for Cole. She derives purpose of life from him.
That should be a natural choice wouldn’t it ? Because where Cole takes from her, Trace gives back to Danii – Her smile, her sway, her belief in love and happiness in life back.!
He’ll I’m in Love with Trace by this point.
“You look at me and see one of two choices. I look at you and see absoluteness.
Omg swooooooooooooooooonThump !!!!
I couldn’t take it any more, I begged Pam to end the readers and characters’ misery. Pick someone who I thought would be great together, but she has no control over these powerfully adamant people. (They seem so real that I refer to them as people not characters anymore.) They do what they do under the given restrictive environment would do
My heart thundered throughout the story. I changed my mind a couple Of times, so i could totally understand the brutal truth that Danii had to face. Both men ignited my body and soul, raging fires of passion threaten to swallow them and me whole. They are thirsty for quenching kisses, hungry for ravenous sex. And believe me the sex is hawt, in every position, in every scene. Some of the best by Pam.
But THE END !!!!!!!! ….i cried bucket loads. The one left behind gets his heart trampled and how could you watch that.
Knee trembling passion, soul stirring Love and heart wringing angst. This story has it all…..and then some !
Pam is truely a Goddess of creating stories that imprint on your heart and you’ll think about it for days .
Wow…just wow. I swear Pam Godwin’s novels get better and better with everyone I read! It took me several days to put my emotional thoughts into coherent sentences enough to write this review. I still don’t think I will be able to fully articulate how EXTRAORDINARLY CAPTIVATING this book (and series) was. I am in complete and utter book hangover mode, dare I say it’s the worst I have ever experienced, and that’s all thanks to Pam Godwin’s PHENOMENAL ability to completely crumble me to a mess of a woman and be completely attached to fictional characters. Going into this last and final novel in the Tangled Lies trilogy, I knew that my heart was GOING to bleed. There was GOING to be tears shed. And I was GOING to be left utterly spent. ALL those things happened and then some. I giggled, I smiled, I swooned, I cried, I hurt, I yearned, I loved, I mourned and I dreaded the ending with every fiber of my being. I NEEDED Danni to find her HEA, but at the expense of ripping out half her heart was daunting to say the least. Pam Godwin’s ability to thoroughly consume the reader with varying emotions is unprecedented. I can say I have NEVER felt this torn in two while reading a book. I begged in my mind that there be a way for Danni to end up with both men, but I knew that Pam wasn’t going to take the “easy” way out and because of that, there was no ending that would be a HEA for everyone involved…someone was going to “lose”. *tears* “I need them with a yearning that can only end in more heartache.”
In THREE IS A WAR, all the lies and omissions were brought to light and there was no rock unturned, no emotion hidden. Danni, Cole and Trace put their hearts on the line and bared their souls in this book. Both men were “going to war” for this woman, but instead of there being bloodshed, they were rivaling on an emotional and intellectual level. They were strategically striving to prove who had the deeper connection with her to show to Danni WHY she should choose one over the other. And boy did they make that decision hard on her. “We’ve shared you, fought each other for you, broken laws to keep you. We’re both so eaten up I love with you there isn’t anything we won’t do.” –Trace. Danni was pulled both directions with each individual encounter. Each time she thought she knew who her heart was telling her to pick, it would turn with a glance shared, or a whispered touch, or a lingering kiss. Unfortunately, this isn’t the kind of decision she could make on a whim. She has to think with her heart. “But the heart isn’t logical. Sometimes, we don’t know what we want until it’s gone.” She’s trying to determine if she needs to go back to her “first love” (Cole) or give her “second chance at love” (Trace) a chance. Both men are amazing choices, but only one is the right choice. Her mom gave her the best advice in this book: “Relationships are hard work. Love is hard work. Whether you choose Cole or Trace, make sure you pick the one you’re willing to work the hardest for.” Now, Danni has to dig deep within herself to figure out WHO that someone is.
“I fell in love with two men and lost myself. I’ll stay in love with one and find myself again.” This novel (and series) was not only about finding the one that makes your heart beat, but it was about finding yourself amongst all this love and turmoil. I do NOT envy the decision Danni had to make, but I applaud her for the strength in which she did so. Feeling like your heart is literally being torn in two, is excruciating to experience and yet a blessing…who is lucky enough to have not one but TWO men who love you unconditionally? “Love happened twice, and I have no regrets, even if the situation feels impossible, even if the looming decision makes me believe I will never survive it. As much as I fear the future, it isn’t going away until it shows me what I need to do.”
I truly believe that this series will be forever in my top love-triangles read. The flawless writing style that Pam has is all-consuming and riveting. I felt as if once I got to the 50% mark, I was reading with one eye closed because I knew that I was getting close to the pinnacle of the whole series…the decision was coming and I wasn’t quite prepared for it. My heart crashed and broke into a million pieces several times by the end, and then it was mending back together, but with slight cracks that will never disappear. I will not say what side I am on (#TeamCole or #TeamTrace), but I will say that I am extremely happy with how this series ended and I’m overjoyed that Danni found the man whom makes her heart beat and picked a whom brings rhythm back into her life.
10 stars!

Finally!
Finally a decision was made! I’m not too sure the right fella won in the end…but the heart wants what the heart wants. Would like to see the story on the fella that lost as he was my favorite in this series. Overall a great series and was glad that I one-clicked. It is best to read the books in order as they are not stand-alones. Here is the order: One is a Promise Two is a Lie Three is a War
From the way things ended in book 2, I thought that this story was going to contain some suspense and action.
I was completely wrong and slightly disappointed.
For me, Three is a War was just a continuation of the previous book.
Danny is still torn between two great guys, and she knows that she can only have one.
I went into this story without a favorite. I would of been fine with her ending up with both guys, but I have no major complains about the way things ended.
