The Dogmothers – a new spinoff series from the popular “Dogfather” books
Daniel Kilcannon, a widower with six unmarried kids, has not only orchestrated wonderfully happy endings for all his offspring…he’s found one of his own. That leaves his grown nieces and nephews plus his adult stepkids all in need of their own magical romances. Is the Dogfather too preoccupied with his new lady love to pull the strings and make the matches? Maybe. But never fear, there’s a new team in town and these two might be polar opposites in life, but they are lined up in love. Meet Yiayia and Gramma Finnie. One has the steel spine of a Greek warrior, the other has the sweet soul of an Irish poet. Together, along with two darling dachshunds, these Dogmothers won’t stop until all nine of their grandchildren are hooked, hitched, and happy.
Just like The Dogfather books, the covers of The Dogmothers were all photographed at Alaqua Animal Refuge in Florida using rescue dogs from the shelter, and “local heroes” as models. A portion of book sales is donated to that amazing organization!

THREE DOG NIGHT (The Dogmothers Book #2) by Roxanne St. Claire is a contemporary romance which has the Dogmothers hard at work matchmaking once again. Since his father’s death, Alex Santorini and his twin brother have kept the family’s Greek restaurants and delis running. Grace Donovan owns and runs the local winery and her chef has walked out. Alex has been waiting for a chance to spread his wings with his French culinary training and a chance to get to know Grace better. With the help of three abandoned puppies, Alex helps Grace discover her past and hopes to be included in her future. This is a standalone complete HEA, but there are carryover characters from this series and the last.
I was so invested in Grace and her search for her roots and the ultimate solution had me in tears. Alex is the hero anyone would love to love. He cooks, loves his family and is willing to encourage and standby Grace, but not overpower her. This book has a realistic progression of the romance and sex scenes are naturally occurring and not gratuitous.
All the extended family, friends and dogs are back, as well as the matchmaking grandmas who did not have this one quite right, but Alex set them straight. The inclusion of the famous couple looking for a wedding venue added to the fun as well as the three rambunctious puppies.
I highly recommend this emotional second book in the Dogmothers series!
I liked this whole series. I loved the setting, I loved all the dogs, and I loved Granmma Finnie. These are entertaining, quick reads. I’d buy them again.
A Tail To Fall In Love With
This is another great read from Roxanne St. Claire. Three Dog Night is a stand-alone in the Dogmother series. I laughed and I cried happy tears with this one & very hard to put down. A super romance between a strong handsome Greek chef, Alex Santorini & a beautiful owner of Overlook Glen Vinyards, Grace Donovan. They met at Overlook while Grace was hosting the wedding reception of Alex’s mother Kate to Daniel Kilcannon.
There are 2 sub stories within the main story. Grace found 3 ragamuffin abandoned puppies in one of the cottages on the grounds & both Alex & Grace fell in love with them but would they be able to find their mother? I won’t tell. Along without that as Grace was looking into the history of her vineyard, there was a connection with Grace being able to locate her biological mother. Grace had been raised in foster care since the age of 5 & then with her grandmother. She had never known what it was like to have the love of a real family until she met Alex’s & the Kilcannon family. The supporting characters are woven throughout the story. To get a complete background on all the supporting characters you can read the beginning of the Dogmother series & also the Dogfather series-it’s well worth your time to read them all, you’ll be pleased with them all. I am looking forward to the next story in the Dogmother series there are always dogs of many kinds in every story to break your heart. Happy “tail wagging”.
Three Dog Night” is my hands down favorite of The Dogmothers books. Yes, I know there are only two in the series so far but it’s still the best of the two. I fell in love with Alex early on and following Grace through her metamorphosis from someone afraid to risk her emotions to a woman willing to offer up her heart was, well, heartwarming, if I’m permitted to be trite. And who could resist three adorable puppies? Better yet, why would you want to? The addition of a degenerate dognapper to the cast of characters, even if he was stereotyped, leans a bit of action and intrigue to the plot and gives it some depth.
Roxanne St. Claire is a talented writer and I always look forward to her new releases. Her romance novels and romantic thrillers are some of my favorites. She’s definitely one of the “go to” authors I can always depend on to deliver a really good read. Four stars.
I loved the Dogfather series and I am loving the Dogmother series as well!
Loved this story of romance and three adorable puppies.
Well, the Dogmothers are back and this time the story belongs to Grace/Graciela and Alex. She owns a winery, he’s a chef at his family’s Greek restaurant. And yes, his grandmother is one of the Dogmothers.
When Grace needs a chef for a celebrity wedding, Alex doesn’t hesitate to offer his services. He’s been enchanted by Grace and sees this as the perfect chance to spend time with her.
As the story continues, we get to understand Grace and why she’s built walls around her heart. Will Alex be the one the break those walls ? Will Grace open her heart and take a chance with Alex or will she leave him behind?
And of course, we can’t have a story about these two without the four legged beings having a special part in the story.
Another sweet and touching story in this series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Loved the entire DogFather series and glad it’s continuing with the Dogmothers.
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Alex and Grace’s amazing story in Three Dog Night by Roxanne St. Claire, book two in her Dogmother series. Take one hot and sexy chef, an orphan unsure where she is from, three lost puppies, wineries, weddings, famous singers, big loving families, finding a lost families and you have one a sweet, tender, often sad, and uplifting story about the search for and the meaning of family. Alex Santorini is warm, compassionate, sexy and oh so romantic. He is working as the chef in his late father’s Greek restaurant, but his heart longs to go out and create his own recipes. Grace Donovan is an orphan, passed from foster home to foster home and longs to know more about her family and why everyone seems to abandon her. After being disappointed so many times she built walls around her heart. These two were brought together by the wedding of Alex’s mom and Dogfather Daniel. Their budding relationship is strengthened after the discovery of three motherless puppies and a celebrity wedding in need of a chef.
In her Dogfather and now Dogmother series Roxanne St. Claire has created a diverse group of characters that revolves around family; first an Irish family led by Granny Finnie, now joined with a boisterous Greek family led by Yiayia. The two grannies bolstered by the fact that they already have matched one couple are ready to do it again, but Alex questions their instincts that Grace should be matched to his twin, John. In typical St. Claire fashion, there is a bit of mystery woven so magically through this wonderful story of two people finding each other and through that connection, finding their true selves.
Ms. St. Claire wrote a fun, flirty and amazing story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sexual chemistry, humor, and endearing characters giving Alex and Grace a chance at love, happiness, owning three puppies, and a future neither expected. I highly recommend Three Dog Night to other readers and look forward to the next book in this wonderful series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
What an amazing story!! I loved watching Grace & Alex attempt to fight their chemistry. Grace is wary about trusting how to be a part of a big family since she grew up in foster care. Watching the two of them slowly fall in love was so sweet & I didn’t want to stop reading! Besides an intriguing love story was some intrigue! There were some abandoned puppies at the winery, and while Grace & Alex are looking for their mom, Grace finds out something about her past! It was impossible to put it down!
The Dogmothers are at it again, with matchmaking frenemies, Alex and Grace together. Grace owns the local winery and has a big chance for hosting a celebrity wedding but needs a chef. Alex steps in, with his love of cooking. As they work together they soon can not deny the chemistry that they share. Add in three stray puppies, there will be plenty of laughs and smiles through out the book. So, grab a glass of wine and start reading this wonderful heart felt story of finding love and family. I highly recommend this story!!
I absolutely adored Alex and Grace! I loved how he saw her worth even when she thought she was worthless…loved her even though she thought she was unlovable…stayed when everyone else had abandoned her.
This was a story of rescue. Puppies were rescued. Self-worth was rescued. Dreams were rescued. But, most importantly, love was rescued.
Alex was finally able to step out from behind his older (by two minutes) identical town’s shadow and finally live the life he had always dreamed of. Grace found not one but two families embracing her and pouring their love On her when she had thought she would go through life alone and empty. And Alex and Grace found each other in this enemies to lovers romance.
Every time I read a new Dogfather or Dogmother book, I think that it can’t be better than the one’s that have come before. But each story is so artfully relayed from the heart and always full of little moments that leave you laughing out loud, gasping in surprise, or reaching for yet another tissue to wipe away tears both happy and sad.
I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next story in this rich family saga!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Three Dog Night is the latest Dogmothers book from Roxanne St. Claire. The Dogmothers take a backseat to the adorable puppies, but the results, a perfect match, are the same. Alex and Grace are meant to be and St. Claire makes sure you know it on every page. Make sure you have time to read when you begin because you won’t want to stop.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
Three Dog Night starts right in the middle of Daniel Kilcannon and Katie Santorini’s wedding reception where Kilcannons, Santorinis and Mahoneys run in their natural habitat of family reunions, food, wine, music, dancing and matchmaking. This time is french trained chef Alex Santorini who is targeted by Gramma Finnie and Yiayia who in their uncanny and irreverent ways want him to take notice of Grace Donovan, owner of Overlook Glen Vineyards, who uses a different approach to making wine. These two are passionate and proud of their jobs, each molded on their life’s experiences but that doesn’t stop them from becoming “frenemies”. With her chef quitting on her and an upcoming sought after wedding Grace needs help and Alex seized the opportunity to get to know her better while showcasing his training which is pure art.
No Dogmothers’ story will be complete without the presence of a furry friend. In this episode my heart was stolen by 3 abandoned puppies and in true Kilcannon – Santorini – Mahoney’s way, they must be saved and reunited with their parent (furry and human alike). Alex and Gracie story is a slowburn; wild, emotional rollercoaster. As a reader you may be laughing out loud at certain moments and fighting tears at the turn of the next page. This is the kind of book I personally enjoy, those where show how life can be dark and sad and turn to a carnival next. This is Roxanne St. Claire signature and sincerely she continues to get better and better.
Three Dog Night can be read as a standalone but is full of cameos of our beloved friends from The Dogfather and Dogmothers series. I’ll recommend to read at least Hot Under the Collar (The Dogmothers book 1) for maximum enjoyment but no matter what this is a Five shinning star read.
I received an ARC and these are my sincere and honest thoughts. Also, I purchased the book to help the non-kill Alaqua Animal Refuge in my home state of FL and most important because my collection will be incomplete without it.
Every time I think this is the best book I’ve ever read from Roxanne St. Claire I read her next book and think that very same thing. You can never go wrong with anything she writes. She puts so much of herself in these books. You’ll find yourself laughing, crying, and just feeling like you’re part of these wonderful people, and you can’t wait to read more about this amazing family.
When Alex Santorini meets Grace Donovan at the wedding of his mother to Daniel Kilcannon he is immediately attracted to Grace, who owns the vineyard where the wedding is being held. Alex is patient and recognizes that he’ll have to move slowly with Gracie (as he likes to call her), since she throws up a lot of walls to surround herself to keep herself from being hurt. As her story unfolds, you feel her pain and you come to love the blended Kilcannon, Mahoney and Santorini families even more when the calvary is called, and they are there to help.
Grace is gearing up for an interview to possibly host a huge celebrity wedding that will put her vineyard on the map and lead to making her place a success. Unfortunately, her chef quits the night of the Kilcannon wedding and she is frantic about who she can hire to be the new chef. Alex volunteers to step in, and as much as Grace appreciates his offer, what can a Greek Deli cook know about the type of cooking she’ll need. Thankfully Alex has trained in France and is an awesome cook, just waiting for a chance to do what he likes best, but is held back out of loyalty to his deceased father to take over cooking for the family business. Enter 3 adorable puppies that are abandoned in the previous Chef’s home, and you have the excitement of seeing if the new press of wine will be good, if they will win the bid for the celebrity wedding, hosting a real wedding, will they find out what happened to the mother of the adorable puppies, and will Grace give them up since they already are pulling on her heart. All these and many unexpected twists and turns that you won’t want to put this book down.
So much to say about Alex and Grace from Three Dog Night by Roxanne St Claire. The hard part is not revealing any spoilers. Alex has long dreamed of his own restaurant with a non-Greek menu. Alex feels he would be letting his family and deceased father down if he were to leave the family restaurant. While helping his mom plan her wedding to Daniel Kilcannon(aka The Dogfather), Alex meets the very pretty winery owner, Grace Donovan and is quite intrigued. Grace Donovan has relied on science to live her life because science can’t leave her or send her away, it’s logical. Grace has been in the foster system since the age of 5. At this point, Grace reveals how she grew up in the foster system without being adopted just absolutely had me in tears in chapter 2!! (I was adopted and this part of the story just tugged on my heart). Because of her childhood, Grace is so scared to get close to Alex. Her fear is that Alex will leave her because “it is for the best” that he move on. Grace discovers 3 abandoned puppies in the cook’s cottage after her chef left for a better job. They are just so darn cute! Can these puppies bring down Grace’s walls and help Alex find the courage to chase his dreams? Will the Dogmothers be successful with their latest match? Will Grace learn that family does not always mean blood related? So many twists and turns in this edition of The Dogmother series, you will not be able to put it down. I absolutely love this series. Puppies and loving families that always jump in to help with any situation – what more can a person want in a book or life? You will get to visit with all the Kilcannons, Mahoneys, and Santorinis, so fun to catch up with them all. Each book is a standalone that is inter-connected and can be read independently. I feel that I do not have the right words to express my true feelings in Alex and Grace’s story. It has ALL the feels!!I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 5 stars*****hands down (or paws down).
What a wonderful love story! Every twist was so much fun to experience. The family enfolds every new love and makes my heart grow. Alex and Grace’s story was so connected and passionate. Oh, the puppies were a perfect addition to this wild adventure. Such a feel good romance journey. Definitely recommending to all my friends.
I enjoyed Alex & Grace’s story. It had just enough conflict to keep it interesting and a bit of suspense to keep me reading far later than I should . Looking forward to the next book (and the upcoming Christmas Novella).
Loved this book and could not put it down.
Alex and Grace are the perfect opposites attract pair. Loved the puppies and the story line.
Can’t wait to see who is next and where there happily ever after is!
I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of Three Dog Night by Roxanne St. Claire fit an honest review. I can honestly tell you that I LOVED IT! It was an outstanding story and probably one of my favorites. Roxanne St. Claire has once again proved that she is an amazing author. I loved the characters, the setting, and everything else. Three Dog Night had me laughing, crying, happy, sad, excited and angry. It was truly a heart wrenching and heart warming story. It is the second book in the Dogmothers Series. Three Dog Night is the story of Alex Santorini, chef at Santorini’s and twin to John, and Grace Donovan, owner and Overlook Glen Vineyards, the location of Katie Santorini and Daniel Kilcannon’s wedding, and three puppies: Jack, Bitsy and Gertie, that Grace insist they be called. The Dogmothers, Agnes “Yiayia” Santorini and Finola “Gramma Fannie” Kilcannon, are at it once again. They are working to match Alex’s twin brother, John, with Grace, but Alex wants Grace for himself. Alex has always come in second to John, being the younger twin, but not this time. At first Grace is very wary of Alex and the sexy Greek chef who always speaks his mind and the big Santorini, Kilcannon, and Mahoney family. Grace is an orphan who grew up in the foster care system, with no family every loving her enough to keep her and adopt her. Unknowingly, Alex take part in one of Yiayia’s matchmaking claims and returns to the vineyard in search of her purse. She wants to send John. but Alex, sees this as a great opportunity to see Grace again. With Alex’s help, Grace is able to find some details about her past and her family. Alex and Grace’s relationship continues to change as they plan for the possibility of holding a wedding and reception of superstar musicians. As their romance builds, a surprising development occurs regarding Grace’s past. Now Grace must decide which she wants more, the family that she always dreamed about or true love with Alex. Three Dog Night is filled with bittersweet and poignant moments where you find yourself crying, lots of surprises, big family dinners, and of course her normal surprise plot twist. Roxanne St. Claire did not disappoint with Three Dog Night. If you love happily ever afters and big families, including a sexy Greek chef and beautiful vineyard owner, you will most definitely love Three Dog Night. I love how the book title and cover are both incorporated into the story so effortlessly.
