When a child goes missing, two mothers’ lives collide in a shocking way in this suspenseful novel from the bestselling author of The Marriage Lie.
It’s every parent’s worst nightmare: the call that comes in the middle of the night. When Kat Jenkins awakens to the police on her doorstep, her greatest fear is realized. Her nine-year-old son, Ethan, is missing–vanished from the cabin where he’d been on an overnight class trip. Shocked and distraught, Kat rushes to the campground, but she’s too late; the authorities have returned from their search empty-handed after losing Ethan’s trail in the mountain forest.
Another mother from the school, Stef Huntington, seems like she has it all: money, prominence in the community, a popular son and a loving husband. She hardly knows Kat, except for the vicious gossip that swirls around Kat’s traumatic past. But as the police investigation unfolds, Ethan’s disappearance has earth-shattering consequences for Stef, as her path crosses with Kat. As the two mothers race against the clock, their desperate search for answers reveals how the greatest dangers lie behind the everyday smiles of those they trust the most.

I really enjoyed this one. This situation would be a nightmare for any mother. I was on edge to find out what happened to Ethan whom disappeared from camp. I was suspicious of everyone at some point and wow, I loved how it all played out! Highly recommend!
Kimberly Belle never lets me down!
This is my second book from Kimberly Belle and it was the same with the first one, so hard to put down. The books are written so well that before you know it it’s almost to the end, and the ending that you will not see coming! Suspense at it best!!
I wrote this! I hope you love Three Days Missing
It’s a mother’s worse nightmare….your child goes missing. What could possibly make things seem more wrong than they already are? How about the fact that your child wasn’t even the one the kidnapper intended to take? The story goes back and forth between Kat (who’s son Ethan was taken) and Stef, the Mayors wife and mother of Ethan’s classmate (the intended target).
This fast paced read will bring 2 mothers from different social classes together in a race to save one child.
Another great read from Kimberly Belle. My favorite chapter was the last one with a POV we don’t get a lot of during the story. The last couple of lines in it were the best. Indeed, ‘Who’s the crybaby now?’ LOVE THAT!!
It held my attention and is a mystery/horror type book. I like those kind of books and as you can tell I love to read.
Really loved this story and it really kept me guessing. Wonderful ending….good job.
Fantastic book. Just wished the ending would have shown a little more detail of Sammy’s true nature. Believe he is a lot like Josh.
Really enjoyed the story and the characters, kept me wanting more
This book is a quick read — a haunting story with believable characters.
Overall good pacing, but the twist was no surprise and the characters (including the children) were not particularly likeable or otherwise compelling
What would you do if your child disappeared? What if it was not suppose to be him? What if you found out someone close to you was the reason behind your son’s disappearance?
Kat Jenkins awakes to the police pounding on her door. Her son, Ethan, has gone missing from an overnight trip with his school’s second grade class. Kat is devastated. Where can he be?
Stephanie is the mayor’s wife. Their son, Sammy, is also on this overnight trip. He’s a bully to Ethan. He’s tormented him and now Ethan is gone. No one knows what happened. No one saw anything.
Kat and Ethan struggle to make ends meet. Stephanie and Sammy have it made. Sammy has everything his heart desires. Ethan does not. But both boys are very much loved. They don’t like each other but both boys are from good, caring homes. Who could or would have done this? Was it for revenge or money?
Kimberly Belle certainly knows how to write a story that will keep you turning pages. Keep you on the edge and even though parts I believe were meant to be guessed, there were other parts that will certainly keep you guessing. The way this story is written makes it a real page turner. When you finish a chapter you will have to read the next one to see what the ending of the previous was referring too. Each chapter is told from one of the mothers. You feel their anguish. The pain in their heart. The fear they are going through. The descriptions are so real you feel like you are out in the woods with the search team. In the city with the mothers.
This is a very well written book told from two women. Two very different women, but both mothers. Both loving their child completely. Without reservation. The ending blew me away. I was not expecting it but also was not completely surprised. I didn’t see it coming but found it very believable.
This is one mother’s nightmare and another’s terror. Two women who would do anything for their child. It was a very good book and I highly recommend it. I look forward to reading more by this author.
I gave it a 5 star rating and stand by that completely.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for an ARC of this. My review is my own and in no way influenced because of receiving this ARC copy.
This book is great! It’s very suspenseful and it kept me guessing until things were ready to be revealed.
Against her better judgement, Kat Jenkins allows her 9 year old son Ethan to go on an overnight class trip to a cabin in the woods. In the middle of the night the police show up at Kat’s front door to tell her that Ethan has gone missing. This story is intertwined with that of another family. The mothers have nothing in common except for the fact their sons are the same age, on the same class trip and the boys do not get along at all. I don’t want to say anything else so I don’t give anything away. I did really enjoy this book and definitely recommend it if you like suspense.
Wowohwow! This was a stay-up-late-into-the-night read with pages you will burn through to get to the final resolution. I literally couldn’t put it down!
The story follows Kat and Stef, Kat whose son has been kidnapped and Stef the mayor’s wife, whose son was supposed to be the one kidnapped. The tension of these opposing ladies was so well done, the characters so vividly drawn, the time of three days so fixed with such potential terrifying results. I couldn’t read fast enough!
With a fast-pace, easy-to-read narrative and well-drawn realistic characters, this was a psychological suspense novel you won’t want to miss!
I really liked this book because I didn’t guess who the bad guy was. And yet once I found out, it made perfect sense.
Started out ok but became predictable halfway thru. Skipped to the end.
I liked this book. The subject really gripped me and I had a difficult time putting it down. If you have children you could feel the terror Ethans mother was feeling. At the end I wanted to pick the little bully and even his mother up and spank them both soundly.
This was such a gripping and compelling read! The story moved along fast and was haunting at times. Every parent’s nightmare is to receive a call that their child is missing. A heart-beat rising tale for your next cross-country trip.
It was a page turner
