“The perfect date is the one where anything and everything goes wrong, but at the end of it, all you want is to see them again.” Dylan O’Brien
This was a free offering through Amazon. It contains a collection of 2 books + an exclusive story. Even though I had already read and reviewed the two books, which were books one in their respective series, I chose this collection due to the fact it was the only way to read the short story. This collection was divided into volumes.
Volume One: the short story: Much to Conceal: ends at 17%
This short story was really cute. It was post Hunsford proposal, with Elizabeth and Jane still in London, where Lizzy shared Darcy’s letter with Jane. To help love along, Jane and Aunt Gardiner made arrangements for Lizzy and Darcy to be in company together. This allowed our dear couple [ODC] that page time where they could apologize and make kissy face with each other. Richard was a hoot and I dearly loved dear Georgiana as they combined forces to bring the Fitzwilliam family [Lord and Lady Matlock] together with Elizabeth’s family from trade. As the sparks few, they reached new heights when Caroline Bingley crashed the dinner party. The dinner invitation had been for Charles alone. Does that woman have no shame? I would have liked for her to receive something from that faux pas… shameless hussy.
Volume Two: A Winter Wrong: ends at 42%
[Year One] in the Season of Serendipity Series: I’m listing all the books in the series:
Book One: A Winter Wrong: 3-stars
Book Two: A Spring Sentiment: 4-stars
Book Three: A Summer Shame: 5-stars
Book Four: An Autumn Accord: 3-stars
[Year Two]
Book Five: A Winter Wonder: 3-stars
The last one I read… I simply didn’t care what happened next.
Novella: A January for Jane: It was called a bonus story to the previous five books. [The cover listed this as the Seasons of Serendipity Bride, book one]. Not sure what that means.
I’ve noticed that the prices have come down on the older books. I have reviewed each book individually and they can be accessed on both Amazon and GoodReads.
Volume Three: By Consequence of Marriage: ends at 99%
The Moralities of Marriage Series
Book One: By Consequence of Marriage: 3-stars
Book Two: A Virtue of Marriage: 3-stars
Book Three: The Blessing of Marriage: 3-stars
Book Four: The Trappings of Marriage:
I simply refused to read any further or continue in the series.
We were then given a glimpse of the covers and titles of the next two books.
Book Five: The Miracles of Marriage:
Book Six: The Heart of Marriage.
Beware, it does have a cliff-hanger ending; no real conclusion if you do not have the next book in the series.
The stories for those who like Pride and Prejudice
Terrible book. I’ll never read another Pride & Prejudice spin-off again.
Interesting twists on a very well known novel. A fun way to read the “what if’s”. Already knowing the characters and reading the interesting outcomes “if” …made it fun.
I think I would have liked it better if it were in order & if I wasn’t so familiar with the original P&P.
Serves as a starting point for three series based on “Pride and Prejudice “, so the characters start out great, but don’t stay great within the stories. I read all three, hoping something would get better, only to be disappointed each time. I will not purchase any more of the books in the series.
The writer succeeded in continuing the story in the style that the original was written. I found it entertaining and enjoyed it.
Loved these. I can’t wait to read the continuing stories.
not complete stories in all cases
Just stick to Jane Austen.
An easy read when you just want to relax.
I guess I really shouldn’t have read these books because I knew they were a twist on the original and I must love the original more than I thought because I didn’t like the turns that these books took.
The problem is that this is just my feelings and others may love them! I suppose if you really love the original, don’t read these they may bring you down lol.
Really enjoyed keeping up with Mr. Darcy…the author was great
Totally interesting
Great! Purchased some of the follow up books!
a different take on the classic…loved the villanous Mr Collins the little weasel. and finding true love for Ann, of course the different course loves takes for Mr Darcy and Lizzy.
Jane Austen will never need to be re-written but this was a very good what if?
Thought the author did a good job adding new dimension to Austin’s characters. Didn’t like the way the last one ended.
boring
