“The Wolf has played me for a fool.”I’ve no clue who is hunting me, but he demands I complete his tests. I fear if I can’t figure out his identity, he’ll kill me just like he said. His eyes were blue the last time I looked into them, but now when he glares at me they’re green. Is the Wolf playing dress up? Or are there two monsters who have stolen me?“Did you think I’d make this easy for you, Red? … make this easy for you, Red? Are you ready to play again?” – The Wolf
I want out of this nightmare, and the only way to do that is to win.
I need to win.
more
I love the intense suspense in this story. A twist occurred that has me moving directly to book 4.
The wolf walks among us and he feels like he needs to deliver justice. Morgan Banks is still missing her family has no idea where she is. She has no idea who took her and what she did to deserve this.
More pieces of the puzzle keep coming but Reed can’t seem to figure out what happened to his wife. When will she be found why would someone do this to her?
He does realize just how much he loves her and what he took for granted. He will not give up until he finds her.
“When a killer walks among society, do you think you could pick him out of the crowd?”
That moment after you finish reading the book, and you sit gobsmacked in awe, amazement and frustration, wondering what the hell did I just read??? Yeah, that was me.
I’m reading every word twice, highlighting and note taking like crazy, because I too want to beat the wolf at his own game, but even though I know I won’t, like Morgan, I’m not giving up.
The Wolf is walking among them, revelling in the panic that he has causing, and feeling justified in dishing out the 5 tests as a part of his game of life that he is forcing Morgan to play. Just as he did the 12 women before her. It’s her punishment, he tells her, for the betrayal and the torment that she has put him through, but Morgan though, is the culmination of his plan, and all before her have just been for practice. Well, all except for the first one, she and Morgan are connected somehow, and for the life of me, by book three, I still have no idea why.
And as he is extending his game playing to include the frantic husband and family, it seems the wolf also has eyes on the inside.
Once again, Three Breaths being the third book a five series ends one hell of a cliffhanger!
Ms. Brooks, you evil author who drinks tea with Satan: 5 stars for your book. 5 fabulous stars.
You need to read the first 2 books before starting this one. The third book in The Game of Life Series, Three Breaths will have your heart pounding and have you begging for Morgan to get up and run, run, run! There are many new twist and turns that will have you second guessing who the Wolf could be? How does he fit into Morgan’s and Reid’s life? Why does he hate her and the other victims so much? When you think you might know who the Wolf might be Belle throws in another twist. I want to say sooooo much more but I don’t want to give anything away. Jump on the Belle Brooks heart pounding, nail bitting RUN RED RUN ride of your life train!!! You won’t be able to put it down.
Book 3 will have you holding your breath and begging for the end. This series will have you on the edge of your seat praying for a HEA. I sure hope we get one…
Lies, roses, and cover-ups
This story just continues to get better as you go along. The tension is palpable and ramps up even further as Morgan’s situation continues to deteriorate. Suspicions escalate. This story probably has the most intense cliffhanger yet.
I really think these book could have been made into one. It’s so hard to review each novella and not post spoilers. This story continued like the others with Morgan trying to survive and Reid and the cops trying to find her. We learn more about the wolf, have a few more questions that are left open and are left with a massive cliffhanger. I’m going to read the last one because I hope justice is served but we shall see. 3 stars #2OCCJD
Well this book certainly had the blood and heart pumping, oh my god the suspense is so high level, i don’t normal read books like this but when it comes to Belle Brooks writing i can’t help not to read it.
I’m not going to write much i think everyone needs to go into the series as blind as they can because this stuff right here is edge of your seat and you can’t help but not put it down until you have read it all.
In this book the story obviously continues but it puts so many more questions in your head of who can it be, maybe it’s this person then something happens and it’s no, then it’s maybe it’s this person then it can’t be. I swear in this novella you can’t trust a single person what so ever.
At the end of each novella you get a awesome cliffhanger and sometimes you just need the next book to answer some of these question but what i love about them is you end up with having so many more.
As i said not going to be a long review due to not wanting to give anything away, but if you love heart racing, blood pumping crime story then you need to read this and you need to start this series if you haven’t because you won’t regret it.
Massive 5 Stars for this instalment and a huge 5 Stars for the series so far.
Oh, My Bloody God!!!
My heart is still pounding like a jack-hammer this series is turning my hair white through sheer fright.
It Just keeps getting better and better the more I read and Just when I think I might have turned a corner and worked it out, it changes directions on me and leaves my scratching my head in confusion.
So yeh I think its safe to say I haven’t got the bloody foggiest.
I’m not usually into these serial type novella’s but I’ve got to admit this one has me totally hooked.
And when I finish one instalment I’m gagging for the next.
And Three Breaths is certainly action-packed.
And Morgan is definitely not going down without a fight, I was cheering her on near the end of this.
Practically shouting you go, girl, stick him where it hurts.
Three Breaths again switches between Morgan, Reid and the Wolf’s viewpoint so you actually feel fully immersed in the whole story.
Poor Reid’s imaging’s of Morgan’s fate was so visual in their descriptions it sent actual chills down my spine.
The Wolf’s hate and Venom, for whatever reason practically froze my veins with its chilling intensity and poor Morgan’s battle for her existence echoed through every turn of the page.
Though this is short the emotion and feeling packed in this is so immense, I was nervously wringing my hands throughout.
So Four Hearts here I come, this tale is just so addictive I feel like I’m on some awful journey that I need to see through to the bitter end.
I just need poor Red/Morgan to catch a break and outwit the Wolf.
Really can’t wait for the next frightful episode.
I was provided with an ARC of “Three Breaths” (The Game Of Life #3) By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Reid envisages the worst happening to Morgan, while he sees that there is nothing being done, except him having Maloney as a babysitter. Reid can’t believe the nightmare is still going on and they have no idea where Morgan is.
Morgan awakes back in the Wolf’s prison, confused and disorientated wondering why the Wolf bothered to patch up her wounds if he was only going to kill her, then she sees the cuts that show one through to five tattooed on her arm with a cross through one.
The Wolf plays with Reid, letting him know that he knows exactly what is going on and threatening to kill Morgan when Reid doesn’t do what he wants.
The detectives think they have a clue with the accent and then Morgan says it’s a different accent, the only thing Morgan know is that from what he’s said that she knows him.
Your given just enough clues from Morgan and conversations with Reid to leave you thinking you may know who the Wolf is, but can’t be sure, but each page leaves you doubting if you have it right. This end in a cliff hanger that leaves wondering what else can happen. Heading onto Four Hearts.
Three Breaths is the 3rd book in the series and OMFG!!
I hate Belle as much as I Love her.
Belle just has a way with words and her books make you feel with your whole body- like you’re living inside the book with them! This book had me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn’t read fast enough. I have more questions and I need all the answers!
I’m not giving anything away except Books 4 and 5 better hurry up.
WHOA… Belle Brooks has done it again! I loved Three Breaths! A continuation of The Game of Life series; Three Breaths takes you on a wild ride as you continue to try figure out who the Wolf is. More clues, more suspects and a whole lot of suspense; I was completely drawn in from the beginning and couldn’t put the book down. I can’t wait to read book four, Four Hearts and see what happens next!
The mystery of who had taken Morgan and the big question why? What has she done to warrant this? There are little clues but not enough to be 100% certain who the wolf is. It’s terrifying, haunting and downright scary for both Reid and Morgan.
Oh Belle Brooks ! What are you doing to us all !? My heart is literally in my mouth, my muscles are bunched and tense and my pulse is galloping at 100 miles an hour! Tension, mystery, fear, and desolation – thus book has every emotion ramped to fever pitch. suspicion looms over everyone, by everyone, as the search for Morgan continues, and the wolf continues to ask the question “Who am I, Red?”
This instalment will have you on the edge of your seats as much as the previous two and I can’t wait to launch myself into #4 although, of course, Ms Brooks will be keeping us hanging on to #5 to reveal all.. because she’s mean like that !! Lol
I have so many theories in my head – some obvious some not so.. can’t wait to see where this story ends up. Another phenomenal journey, thank you.
Wow! Absolutely loved Three Breaths! This is the third book in the Game of Life series. I love Belle Brooks style of writing and how she can pull you into a book. This book definitely keeps you reading and on the edges of your seat. There is so much angst and thrillers in this. Three Breaths plays mind games with you throughout! WHO IS THE WOLF!
Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? Are you scared Red? Are you ready to play? Will you survive my game? It is a game isn’t it? The game of Life? Who’s the wolf? Why me? So much untold so much revealed. So many suspects so few answers. Does she know who is tormenting her? Can she survive?
I love this author and this cat and mouse, predator and prey, it’s so much more and such a thrill. The lies and deceit. The remembrance and the past events as they filter through minds, exhausted and terrified, the lack of food, water, rest. What’s real and what’s not, who can you trust. A wonderful read that will leave you wanting more and questioning everything you read.
It is really rare that any book can keep me guessing the entire book, but Belle Brooks managed to pull that off here. Seriously, if they had a family goldfish, I might be giving it side eye wondering if it is the wolf at this point! The writing keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is intense and VERY fast moving which is just perfect for this type of story. Merely calling this series a “thriller” would not be doing it justice as it is so much more. Highly recommended!
Three Breaths continues with all the suspense and more! So many questions get put into your head…you think one thing then question why you are thinking it!! You think you can trust someone but then maybe you shouldn’t?! Man, this book!!! It really has me in it as if I am there myself, with Morgan and Reid and I have no idea what is going to happen next!!
Belle Brooks continues to torture her reader’s in the third book in the game of Life series. just when you think you know what is going to happen I swear she laughs and says “I don’t think so.” all the way to the last page I read with my mouth open in shock. when I got to the end I kept trying to find another page. one that would give me the answers I wanted but none were there. If I was to guess I would say Belle Brooks is the wolf and her readers are Morgan and Reid. when I said she tortured her readers with this book I meant it but damn if I don’t love it.
Belle brooks has written an adrenaline pumping read that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish leaving you wanting more. Belle Books has the amazing ability to write all different types of stories but always continues to create an amazing storyline that keeps you engaged in the story from the start to finish and every time I read one of her stories I am completely blown away with her amazing writing.
Three breaths continue on from where the second book finished and we see that Morgan is still fighting for survival. Every time Morgan is fighting for her life and running from the Wolf I am constantly on the edge of my seat; my heart starts to beat faster and I’m yelling at Morgan to keep fighting and not to give up. This shows how much I have invested into this character because of the wonderful work of the author to create a character that you can continue cheer on to win.
Reid my heart constantly breaks for because of the devastation he constantly feels over his wife being missing and the regrets he has over not telling her he loves her enough. It’s obvious that he loves his wife so much and he might not of been the best husband recently but he tries his best.
Once again, I think I might have an idea who the wolf is but then I change my mind and think it’s another character. This story has so much suspense in it with heaps of twists and turns. I cannot wait to read more of this fabulous series and hopefully find out who the Wolf is and why he wants Morgan. Congratulations Belle on another incredible book.
