This is the FIRST book in the Joe Tyler series.
If someone took your child, how soon would you stop looking for her? If someone accused your best friend of a terrible crime, when would you stop defending him?
Seven years after Joe Tyler’s daughter Elizabeth was abducted, he hasn’t stopped looking for answers, and he hasn’t forgotten the friend who stood by him as he lost his wife, his home, … wife, his home, and his career in his search. Now he’s been brought back to San Diego by the news that this friend has been arrested for beating up a teenage girl — a girl not much older than Elizabeth would be now.
Joe is convinced Chuck Winslow is innocent, but Chuck is in a coma and can’t explain what happened. And the more Joe hears about what Chuck’s been up to in the years he’s been gone, the less Joe recognizes his old friend. To find out the truth, he will have to face his ex-wife, his former bosses, and a hometown full of wealth, lies, and illicit privilege. When Chuck’s accuser goes missing, Joe must decide where his loyalties truly lie.
Jeff Shelby is the best-selling author of The Noah Braddock series (Killer Swell, Wicked Break, and Liquid Smoke) and has been compared by reviewers to Harlan Coben and Robert Crais. In Thread of Hope, he delivers a gut-wrenching tale of painful secrets and even more devastating truths as well as an exploration of how a single thread of hope can keep one man going.

Recommend to fans of the PI genre.
By the end of the first few chapters, I cared about the main character and was intrigued by the storyline. A fast-paced, smooth read I thoroughly enjoyed. I thought the ending could have had more suspense but overall a good read which kept me engaged throughout.
I’m not even finished with this book but still will give it a glowing review. I know a book is good if I would rather read it than do just about anything. Don’t think I’ve ever come across a plot like this before.
Loved this book. Can’t wait to read the next book in the Joe Tyler series, ” Thread of Suspicion”. When his own daughter is stolen right from his front yard, Joe Tyler is the one hope for other parents of missing children. As he searches for missing kids, he is constantly looking for his daughter. Good read. Can’t wait to find out if there …
So many things going on in this book. Joe Tyler heads home to help his friend who was accused of beating up a teenage girl. The true culprit is shocking and comes after many twists and turns. Jeff Shelby expertly builds the story up to the very shocking climax.
Jeff Shelby has a number of different series of books, and I would not recommend them all, but this series featuring Joe Tyler is highly recommended. I recommend starting with book one(this book), as there is a storyline carried through to the next couple of books. Character development and comfortable pacing make for a read that really draws the …
This is the FIRST book in the Joe Tyler series. And I could not put it down, nor can I wait to read the next book in the series. I really felt for all the characters, especially Joe himself and his ex-wife.

Very good story line with good characters. Interesting series starter.
This was a good book. Hope to read more by this author.
Amazing absolutely amazing. Joe Tyler, wow, he is one dedicated man looking for his daughter. What a sad story, but he sure is doing something wonderful. As hard as it is for him, he is helping others. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Great writing
Could be real life experience. Hero is just a normal guy, with all the human frailties we all have.
I read this one and then had to buy the rest in the series. All of them were awesome books.
The story was good but dragged on through several books to find out what happened to his daughter. Short books… repetitive background info in each successive book. Could’ve been told in one book. Won’t continue with this author.
How would I respond to such a devastating event!? He is driven and it leads him to help others while he is searching. Good read.
First 20% of the book was kind of slow but after that point the story line and characters picked up. Glad I stuck with it and I will be reading the next book in the series!
Surprising!
Book was great. Easy to read and entertaining. Was not a big fan of the ending, but don’t let that stop you from reading!!!
I really liked it and am reading the second book in the series now!
This book was a free read, but I was so into it I had to keep buying the next one. I now have 1-6.
It was okay. Needed proofreading.
Awesome read!
