In the first entry in the Madison River Romance series, Keira Knudsen gets the traveling opportunity of a lifetime, but when she reunites with her first love, Robbie, she learns that even a wandering heart needs a home….No one in the quaint town of West Yellowstone, Montana knows that unassuming geography teacher Keira Knudsen moonlights as sensational travel blogger Kat Wanderfull. No one, … Kat Wanderfull. No one, that is, except for her first love, Robbie Matthews, who has just discovered the woman he is falling for online is the same one that broke his heart five years ago.
But Robbie has another problem: the mother of his daughter, Anabelle, has resurfaced after a three-year absence determined to rip Anabelle away from him. Robbie needs a steady paycheck for a chance at custody, and now, on the eve of a grand adventure that could give Keira a chance to flee her old, troubled life once and for all, she is in need of assistance.
With so much broken trust between them, Keira and Robbie must keep an arms-length away to make this partnership work. But the more time they spend together, exploring majestic places and sharing new experiences, the closer they get–until their secrets and dreams threaten to cost them everything.

Janine Rosche’s debut novel’s characters tug at your heart, the realism in the story sings through the pages, with a unique, new perspective in fiction.
If you’ve ever had the itch to travel this story is for you, handled learning difficulties in a loved one, you’ll identify with this story and found yourself reaching for the stars in your own backyard this is your kind of story.
I’m so happy to learn they’ll be more, I want to follow along with Janine and her characters in this series.
I received this book from the publisher but was under no obligation to write or post reviews.
This is a wonderful debut that feels like a modern day play on You’ve Got Mail, but with characters who have more depth and backstory. I love that I got to travel to so many places in the novel. I love Keira’s personal growth in finding herself. My favorite scene? Her jumping on the bed. Wow. I love Robbie’s devotion to his daughter, even if it means sacrificing everything. What a beautiful picture of our Heavenly Father! Overall, this is a great story of redemption and healing.
*I was given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.*
If you are looking for a contemporary romance novel that will take you on lighthearted romantic adventure then you should pick up Janine Rosche’s debut novel, This Wandering Heart. This story was unique, and really highlighted how difficult it can be to move on from your past, even if you still care about someone. The road trip element of this story was fun and provided a way for these characters to really step outside their every day routine and tackle some of their issues along the way. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Kat and had a hard time connecting with her motivation and view point. Robbie was down to earth and humorous, however I thought he repetitively overlooked Kat’s many flaws and I wanted him to hold her more accountable for her words and actions at times. I loved that Annabelle, Robbie’s Daughter, was a big feature of this book. She was charming and it allowed the reader to see how capable and caring Robbie is. I’m not going to give spoilers, however I was happy with the conclusion of this book!
*I was given a copy of this book by the Publisher, however I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
This Wandering heart catapulted Janine Rosche to the top of my favorite authors list, alongside Denise Hunter and Becky Wade. I absolutely loved this debut novel, and am already ready for the other books in the Madison River Romance Series.
Keira and Robbie’s story drew me in immediately, and kept me turning the pages. I love second chance romances, and this tops them all. Keira and Robbie were very relatable characters – both have parts of their pasts they must wrestle with so they can heal and move forward. This book does tackle some very difficult topics (like a learning disability and domestic violence), but does so delicately. I enjoyed seeing the characters work through their pasts so they could heal. There were numerous things that stuck with me in this book, one being, “You’ve only got so many heartbeats. Use them well.” I felt so many different emotions during this book, and will definitely re-read it, probably numerous times.
I’ve already pre-ordered a paperback copy of This Wandering Heart to add to our church library.
I am a member of the author’s launch team, and received a copy of the book through NetGalley. I was not required to submit a positive review at all.
This book is absolutely wonderful!! It hooks you on the first page and doesn’t let go. This is one of those books that once you start reading it you can’t stop. You don’t want the book to end but you just have to know what happens next. You don’t want to miss this book. Thank you Berkley Publishing Group and Janine Rosche for the ARC copy via NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
A story about home
My rating is 4.5 stars
I enjoyed the writing in this story so much! I don’t think I’ve ever had so many quotable quotes to choose from as I did this time. It was so difficult sorting through them to pick only 30!
Kiera and Robbie’s lives couldn’t have been more different. He came from a stable, loving, Christian family. Hers was filled with strife and abuse. He struggled with school and learning. She was brilliant. Yet, despite their differences, they fell in love.
Ok. I just have to say that Robbie was the best kind of father! His love for his four-year-old daughter, Anabelle, was pretty amazing; especially considering the circumstances of her birth. He was a great, though flawed, hero. I was so curious to find out what happened to separate Kiera and him, and particularly how (why?) this Christian man ended up having a daughter out of wedlock!
I also appreciated that Robbie had no animosity toward Vivian, Anabelle’s mother, despite the things she had done and the way she attempted to gain custody. Wow!
It took a little bit for me to warm up to Kiera. At first, she seemed a little cold and unkind. Yet as I learned more about why she had erected the walls around her heart, I understood and came to care about her and empathize with her. It was wonderful watching her blossom.
Anabelle was delightful! She was such a little princess and had such a big heart. I loved the way Robbie played with her, comforted her, and cared for her.
I really enjoyed This Wandering Heart and look forward to reading more books by Janine Rosche.

I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
This was a lovely story. It was the story of young love trying to endure all of the trials that come in life. It was a story based Christian faith, love and forgiveness.
Keira and Robbie were high school /college sweethearts, but misunderstandings pulled them apart. Their lives went in different directions, but they never could forget each other. When they happened to run into each other, the sparks couldn’t be ignored.
The adventures they experienced were described so well, you felt like you were there with them. The emotions so strong, you could feel them. Hurt, betrayal, abandonment, abuse, love, joy, admiration, security, faith and forgiveness. The author covered them all so well. There were a few places toward the beginning /middle of the book that dragged a bit. But it really was an enjoyable read. A Clean Christian romance.
“This Wandering Heart” by Janine Rosche is a most worthy offering. So much of what is faced in modern relationships is encountered in this one, wonderful novel. The question is addressed of whether one can choose to have both the career they have worked for and the love they have longed for. More importantly, I love the way the characters (especially Keira and Robbie) grow to understand that true love is being what you can for someone else, as opposed to only thinking of what they can be for you. Such a wonderful read.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and was not required to post a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
Robbie’s and Keira’s story gripped my heart. I literally felt what they were feeling. Their story is one captivating, heart wrenching love story that I won’t forget in a long time. The author’s ability to capture human emotions in this book that made it so relatable is amazing. I had no option than to love Robbie. I love the light in which the author captured him. Keira was some people at one point in their lives living between two worlds and not knowing how to merge them. I loved the balance Robbie brought into her life.
I recommend this book to everyone who love romantic stories with depth.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
I immensely enjoyed this dynamic story of love lost and found, of faith and finding ones true self amid the challenges that life brings. Every time I picked up the book, I felt like I walked right into the heart of the story and traveled the distance alongside the characters. I didn’t just read the story on the page, I lived it.
I enjoyed the witty banter between the characters and found myself talking out loud to them on more than one occasion. The characters grow and learn things about not only themselves but others. I felt like each scene is meaningful and well written inviting the reader to not only participate, but to evaluate how they would handle the situation.
One-hundred times better than any romantic drama movie you could hope to find. This Wandering Heart is a story that envelopes you and keeps you turning pages late into the night. I look forward to reading more from Janine Rosche in the future!

This book is my first story from Author Janine Rosche. I can’t put into words all I want to say the emotions about this story get through all together at once faster than I can write. This story was wonderful. Loved it from the first pages in. Creativity at it’s max in the romantic scenes left me feeling blushed and closing the book for a moment thinking someone would notice. Loved the characters. Keira, Robbie and Ryann. Enjoyed reading throught the story how Keira and Robbie hold unto their Faith when darkness seemed to engulf them. The way author placed a hunk of a character with a disablitily. Making it real that anyone can have one but surpass all obsticles and come on top.
Keira, growing up in a abusive home grew to become a strong, dependant young woman despite the bad treatment by her father and her peers. Robbie, a single dad. Former high school football player with a disability bringing up his young daughter. Together they become one. A strong unit that nothing can hold them back but their insecurities when they are far from each other. But together they meet their dreams and make them come true.
Loved this story so much. Laughter, Blushing, some tears but all in all a well put together story. That sprinkled with messages of God’s love for us makes up this story that you do not want to miss and want to add it to your list of books to read.
Received a copy of an ARC from the Author for my personal honest opinion. Thank you.
Here’s the thing: I knew this book was going to be good because Janine is hilarious and she has excellent taste in romance, so I expected an entertaining read.
Y’all. It was even better than I anticipated. This wasn’t just an entertaining read. This was an entire heart journey. The second-chance romance between Robbie and Keira is sweet and on point, but Keira’s growth throughout the novel truly blew me away. I genuinely loved this book and I’m so excited to read more from Janine!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. All expressed opinions belong to me.
5 Stars! (Scratch that, all the stars in the sky!)
After loving Mistletoe Menagerie last year I knew I’d love this book, and *blissful sigh* I totally and completely did!
I know that no words I can string together will come anywhere close to doing this incredible book justice, but I will try my best!
This book blew me away, it filled my heart with joy, and I was faced with the age-old bookworm dilemma: not wanting to stop reading, but also hating to see the book end!
Keira and Robbie instantly felt like friends to me and I was wholeheartedly cheering for them from the start. I am totally Team Robbie, he is so sweet, humble, caring, and thoughtful that I was constantly swooning, he completely stole my heart and has yet to return it to me!
Every time I thought this book couldn’t possibly get any better, it did!
There seriously isn’t a single thing that I didn’t love about this book, and I already want to re-read it, that’s how much I loved it!
The faith story and message in this book wrapped itself around my heart and will stay with me for a long time to come.
This book tackles some difficult topics, but does so with grace and sensitivity, while at the same time not downplaying how deeply they affect people.
This book gave me all the feels! I love the author’s sense of humor! This book never failed to make me laugh at just the right moment, and melted my heart from start to finish!
This Wandering Heart possesses everything I love most in a contemporary romance and so much more!

I cannot wait to read Ryann’s story, Wildflower Road!
I received a copy of this book from the author. Which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts are one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
What a wonderful romance by debut author, Janine Rosche! The funny, laugh-out-loud moments like, “For Keira, each school day toward the end of May dragged slower than a spoon through cafeteria mashed potatoes,” to the heart-warming and heart-wrenching moments, kept me engaged throughout the entire story. If you enjoy clean Christian romance that tugs on your heart strings, give this new author a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
